      @@WMCS Yes i got it aligned and everything works, only problem is that my clutch pedal is soft and the cluch engages very soon...has no presure point like before, how do you bleed the system ?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SpyHeli sorry for the late response.
      It definitely needs bleeding out ...
      If you look on the channel I’ve started showing how to bleed a clutch on the last few videos.
      1. Fill reservoir with dot4 clutch fluid.
      2.get someone to pump the pedal a few times then hold it down to the floor.
      3. Crack open the bleed nipple from the slave cylinder. Tighten bleed nipple back up.
      4. Repeat the pump procedure and bleed a few times. The pedal should feel pressure after about two or three times.

    Great video pal. You just saved me a load of cash. Found moving gearbox out of way and back the most difficult bits ( needed a helper ). Also needed to make up a small enough clutch alignment peg to fit into the small space. It was hard work though if ur not used to it like me. A day to remove. A day to reassemble.

      :) just done this job today (clutch receiver cilinder exchange) this a one day job for me... Turns out that on 1,6 16v Astra with F17 gearbox you must drain the oil before removing the drive shafts, otherwise you will lose oil. If anyone else is waching this comment, do not do this by yourself, have a helper at least when you refit the gearbox to the engine (I lost 2 hours only remounting the gearbox by myself, and now I have a hole upperbody muscle acke). After watching this I reckon you don't get paid enough! Got mine replaced about a week ago (diagnosed as a slipping clutch), a week later and it's doing the same thing. Mechanic reckons oil has dripped onto the new clutch, after watching this it looks like there would be little chance of oil getting in there!

      @WMCS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fifury161 on these models. There’s two options of clutches. They both fit but one of them the pressure plate has a slight difference in thickness. Which would cause it to slip under high revs.

      @@WMCS Ok brilliant thank you very much, my main worry atm though is i can only afford a 2 piece clutch, how risky is it to fit this without the slave cylinder ?.

      Poppy Lisa Saunders don’t do it ... the old CSC will not last ... it may fail straight away or it may work for a few months. .... a bit too risky in my opinion.
      Is your clutch completely gone ...

      @@WMCS Yeah it will drive slightly when cold for a few feet then no drive when in gear.

      Poppy Lisa Saunders definitely sounds like the clutch plate itself... if you can don’t use an LUK CSC they are made of plastic and fails prematurely . Use an FTE it will last the life of the clutch.

    My neighbour removed the subframe and dropped the box, i tried telling him you dont need to, you can just move the box to one side.

      But its enought room for this operation? I want to change the clutch today, and it looks easy without removing the subframe.
