Good tutorial. I like hoops for the same reason, air drying both sides at the same time. And boards take more room to store.

Where do you buy your hoops?

I have a beaver pelt in my freezer that I have been too afraid to process. I'm liking your video of using a hoop. As far as the legs go, would it be possible to put some sort of Cove shape in the fur side to allow it to dry and still keep the legs & not staple them closed?

I started trapping about three years ago, and just recently started drying my own furs. I have hoops but didn’t know how to use em. So this helps a ton. Have you found any difference in price between beaver you’ve hooped on wire and beaver you’ve hopped on boards?

I’m brand new to trapping so these videos are great for me. The information I have learned from your channel will be a huge help for me and I just enjoy following when you are running a line. Keep the videos coming!

After the hide has dried and you've removed the cardboard, what keeps the leg holes closed shut?

The hide is pretty stiff once its dried. There is no shrink or stretch. There may be small holes but for the most part they stay closed

Ive only used boards and ive tried nails staples and sowing the legs and staples. I haven't tried hoops yet but so far all have worked good i think sowing the feet shut looks way better. I can see where the hoops would be nuce for drying the fur rather then boards bit if you use nails on boards the fur dont have to be completely dry un like if you use staples but all seem to work good

I used boards when I first started, really I think boards are easier to put a beaver up on, they just take up a lot of space
