Fr. Mike discusses our call to deny ourselves and take up our cross, specifically focusing on God’s call to renounce all that is ours and trust in him. He also highlights the story of Mary and Martha and encourages us not to allow the cares of life to choke the life of God out of our lives as Martha allowed her troubles and anxieties to do. Today’s readings are from Luke 9-10 and Proverbs 26:4-6.

Thankyou Fr Mike, for your explanation of the situation with Mary and Martha. I totally understand the wonderful opportunity to sit at the feet of our Lord and listen as he spoke! However, I’ve always felt sorry for poor Martha trying to serve the guests and prepare the food on her own! If I had been her I know that after Jesus had said that Mary had chosen the better option - I would have sat right down with her, and let everyone get their own drinks and food! 😂

Thanks so much Father Mike for your reflection on Martha and Mary. It resonated with me because as like Martha, I focus on the daily struggles and worry about unimportant things. For example, when I pray, my thoughts wonder off and I am unable to focus and enjoy the moment with God. I pray that the Lord will help me do as Mary did, focus on what is important, let go of the anxieties and worries of every day life and surrender to his will.
I, too, have suffered from this all my life, I am 76 and still can't get rid of anxiety.
When praying I play Gregorian chants very softly as a background. I have found this helps stop my mind from wondering while I pray.
Jesus I surrender my life to you, take care of everything. (Surrender novena). It’s helping me immensely. God bless you!

Thank you Fr Mike. I have heard a lot of explanations about Mary and Martha's role - but Father I like your explanation. It sounds the best to me. Yes Martha got choked with anxiety and forgot to enjoy the presence of JESUS and His Apostles in her house.
🤷♀️How is this that I never picked up on this Luke 9:13 before. I had to stop stirring the tomatoe soup; put you on pause and read that part over (several times). I’ve thought 🤔 what where they talking about and now I know.
This is my second time through the Bible with you. I just love it Father. You’re always in my prayers and all of the other listeners.

The 'little' miracle we don't talk about: without a public address system, Jesus might have had the loudest voice imaginable to be able to reach the thousands in a wide open space. How does this translate into our lives today, with all the noise round about us? How do we discern the Lord's voice amidst the din?

Sometimes this doesn't appear until 10.00 pm, so whilst I was waiting I watched a couple of episodes on The Chosen, the one where Jesus calls Peter and Andrew, this is the third time of watching this wonderful series. It really brings the Bible to life and has made me appreciate even more the sacrifice these men made. Thank God they did.
I also just want to share a quote with you all, I hope it blesses you as much as it has me.

I going to donate monthly to St. Jude's hospital I'm 66 years old and had a cancerous brain tumor removed in 1992 and so great full. And went to world youth day in 93 the sergen who operated on me flew to Rome to have his hands blessed by the Pope before he started his profession so it would be Christ the main phasition working through him Amen
St. Jude hospital uses the cells of human embryos who were murdered when they should have been implanted in their mother's womb. Please don't give them money. Donate to the St. John Paul II Medical Research Institute instead.

It is so true that we worry about things that are not all that important. What was reading the top me today but it is so easy to put other things above God is it so important to ask for forgiveness.
Being present with the lord is so much more than the other things that we can value to. False gods are not just deities the golden cancer somebody died from the allergies. Even money or food or possession can become bad if we’re not careful.
I think that celebrities are great manners example. It’s your video games all day working in moderation. No also be a foster.
I had an epiphany over Martha and Mary too. Jesus said the greatest in the kingdom would be the servants but here we see the better portion is for the ones who sit at Jesus feet learning. Our clergy are our servants yet all who sit at their feet learning are give the better portion. It's something to contemplate sitting at Mass next time.

Identifying the homeostasis in our lives helps us to identify the cause of the work beneath the work. Meaning, the ppl in our lives have specific (and a lot of times unconscious (look up how genograms work)) role expectations that keep us planted in their ideals of how and what we are to them in their lives. Jesus, when He calls us to hear Him, tells us to listen to only His role expectation for our lives, not minding what anyone else believes or thinks regarding it. When you are in His domain only you fast when He puts you on a fast, you only deny yourself of a particular thing when He tells you you must (because there is a spritual and/or an unseen purpose in it). So, yes, it is a complete and total submission of one's life and role expectations; all is given to God.
To sell everything one owns is not a hard thing to do (at least for me it wasn't). To walk away from my job 20mins into my shift and leave my mother in the hospital without checking on here, that was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. Walking away with no idea about what I was supposed to do outside of pray was kinda crazy. He brought me back home with literally $0.07 to my name, with no job, and with destroyed familial relationships. This destruction set me up to attend to everything I had to do next. To attend it with a deep knowing that the old had to be destroyed to fully attend to the next part which was taking my mom as my dependent. That was a beautiful gift, the time I got with her.
Giving our entire will to God seems like a denial of free will. But, really, what's free will when all you want is love? Love is in God's will, not free will.

Round Two Please, I am looking for people to take a moment and pray with me for Souls in Purgatory. Can you help?
According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory:
Eternal Father,
I offer You the most precious blood
of thy Divine Son, Jesus,
in union with the Masses said
throughout the world today,
for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory,
for sinners everywhere,
for sinners in the universal Church,
for those in my own home,
and in my family. Amen.
In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

I m so sorry that people need to put up with smear campaign against me.
According to their gas lighting, I can sign to release my medical records from Edelman Mental Health, LA as mandatory housing requirements that I had to see a psychiatrist for two years, my psychiatrist is harvard med and ucla psychiatry, the result is that I m pretty normal, medication ll do nothing for me.
Second, I m a very submissive person to an extent I have to endure alot of abuse by adversary submitting to our protocols.
And the Adversary is the source of smear campaign.
USC has been imposing our schools to cheat science research for them to win Nobel Prize, I refused, they hate me but the Queen is very happy with me. Because I m obedient.
I have to clear all rumours. Thanks for your patience.
