  • After a couple of months of planning and getting ready we get back on the road to head to the opposite side of Australia for a good mates wedding! With only 10 days to get to Noosa QLD it’s going to be a quick trip cross country, we could’ve easily flown but would love to continue travelling the east coast and enjoy travelling and caravanning Australia!

    Many years ago (2008) I drove from Perth to Melbourne in 56 hours, I was the only driver and I had to wait about 4 hours in Charlton Victoria for the servo to open. I would NEVER attempt a drive like that again.

    I noticed that the fuel price where you filled up was 14 cents a litre cheaper then we pay at Gem Fields, We are ripped off here. You would need a lot of battery power to run aircon, I have 540 amp hrs , nowhere near enough. Good to see yous Travelling again, Stay safe, Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🦘🦘🇦🇺

    We are heading over to WA in July, have a Prado and towing a small hybrid van…..so your trip is a great insight for the fuel costs and litres per hundred and over night stop overs.
    Looking forward to the new adventures 👍

      It’s an awesome trip! With a lot to see along the way! The Prado having the big fuel tank standard helps in a huge way! If we could we’d spend a week or 2 travelling it but time just didn’t permit this time around. 🍻

    When I crossed the nullabor it was $ 2:00 a gallon I bought Jerry cans so I wouldn't have to pay such high prices

    Great to see JS back on the road. Hopefully once you get back on the East coast and continue your journey you won't have time constraints and long distances. Great question at the end about how Soch feels about the difference in the vans. 😀

    Thanks that was cool, we love those long epic drives and the Nullabor is a great trip. When you come back if you stop again at Afghan Rock Rest Stop there is a gate you are allowed through at the western end of the rest stop you can go through and camp in there. It is only half a k to Afghan Rock on a good track and as you turn left along the track on the left is Afghan Rock where you can camp and turn around. It is nice in there.

    Your like me mate, 3 days 3000 km. Edit : Keep an ear out for bush fires & also floods. KCGM - Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines. Kerry Stokes combined with Alan Bond joint venture in the early 80's. Its why I said in my video of Kalgoorlie Mt Charlotte been going for 30 years, because in the early 80's it looked like closing due to the gold price. The two business men kept the Mine going. Question : Can you put your air con on whilist running the car, so while driving 2 - 3 hours then stop for your sleep ?

    • @JS_Adventure
      @JS_Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aah that’s interesting, would’ve been a completely different story if it had closed! We probably could never really thought about it but we try and have everything off while moving

    • @R00RAL
      @R00RAL ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @JS Adventure Yes, all the head frames you see at the museum where once separate companies. Alan & Kerry bought them all. Moved all the head frames & consolidated them to form KCGM. Then built a huge Mill.

    Would you have enough power to run the AC all night? Cheers guys, great vid

    • @JS_Adventure
      @JS_Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not, 🥲 We’d love too though! 260ah and set to 24 degrees sees it down to 50% after 3-4 hours through the night. I think even with 500ah it’d still be pushing it depending on ambient temps, eventually we’ll get another battery and hopefully we can run it all night!

    • @noahjbarr
      @noahjbarr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JS_Adventure Do you know if people like the holy grail “trip in a van” (yet)would be able to run there ACs all night, suppose you would know a fair bit more then me.

    • @JS_Adventure
      @JS_Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I’d say they could, we’re striving for it and we’re only small fry! 😂 but with there sponsors (enerdrive) and having kids and doing what they do like home schooling in remote areas I’d say they’d have to have a huge battery bank and solar setup to last them a couple of days

    Hey mate , you keep things going really well, in fact it looks like you are doing everything. Driving, commentary, . Your girlfriend doesn't say or do much. Just a smile, a conversation, a laugh or something. Not really engaging in this episode. I hope it's only because she's not feeling very well.

      He’s always looking at her and we mostly see the side or back of his head, I find that a bit annoying. Sometimes I wonder if she really wants to be here, might be jet lag this time though, I’m sure she’s enjoying some of it. 😀( sorry I don’t remember your names 😊) I like all the videos just the same, it’s a different style to other and they are well put together.I’ll keep watching. 👍
