okayy guys sorry wanted to clarify something about the fees, it would be like: if you're applying to 1-3 programs, you pay $150 If you're applying to 4+ programs, you pay 50 times the number of programs you applied to! (for example: i'm applying to 6 programs, so I pay 6 x $50 = $300) kinda expensive but oh well LOL
Hey Emily, this video was super informative! I know this comment is really late but I had a quick question about the top 6 grades. At 8:56 , you had mentioned that they look at your top 6 grades if you’re an Ontario student. Does this apply if I’m a BC student as well? If so, can my grade 11 courses and electives be counted into my top 6, even if they’re completely unrelated to what I want to study (ex. An art course)? Btw I’m interested in applying for U of T Rotman. Thanks again 🫶🫶
Oh and just wanna clarify that I do realize that my Calc 12 and English 12 will be counted in my top 6!! I’m just referring to my other 4 courses😊 Also, I will be taking English 12 in the second semester of my grade 12 year. Does that mean they will use my English 11 mark in replacement until I receive my English 12 mark? If so, does this mean I will be accepted/rejected at a later date (since they cannot evaluate me until my Eng 12 mark is released?) rly sorry for all the questions 😭
@@leiju39 np! so yes they will tenporarily use your g11 mark to give you your offer, but there will be conditional requirements to maintain the offer, they look at your final mark in grade 12 june to determine if u keep ur offer or not.. usually conditional requirements are lower than acceptance/rejection offers (for ex: keep an 80% average to keep your offer)
Another question I got: are summer courses looked down upon? It depends on the university and program. Summer school and night school courses have a different course code, so the universities will know. Some competitive programs, like at UofT and Waterloo, will look down on summer school courses but for most programs it should be fine.
Out-of-province universities will have separate applications you need to fill out- you can’t apply directly through OUAC. However, universities on this list: guidance.ouac.on.ca/counsellor-resources/other-university-options/#:~:text=Students%20who%20apply%20to%20these,digit%20should%20be%20%E2%80%9C0%E2%80%9D take your high school and grades information from OUAC so you don’t have to send a separate transcript to them, hope it helps!
heyy so the deadline to submit your choices for universities on OUAC is 13th of january; however, the supplementary application deadlines vary from uni to uni, hope this helps!
@@hehemichaeljackson2953 i ended with an overall score in the high 30s! don't worry too too much about grades, they're not everything that determines your admission, most competitive programs will also have some sort of supp app :)
good question! it depends basically on two things: when you submit your school choices and how good your application is (the earlier you submit and the better it is, the sooner you should hear back a response). Then, there are some competitive programs who won't hand out any offers at all until march-may time. Other unis release offers all on one day (such as mcmaster health sci). Check out 5:48, 16:03, 13:43 for more info!
Thanks for the info, may I ask when applying to UBC, are you required to submit your whole highshcool transcripts with IB predicted marks when you apply?
heyy i didn't apply to ubc but general consensus is if you are a canadian student who did ib, they do not look at ur IB levels, but rather the % it converts to. So if you have 6's in every class, that is a 96% or so in every class (not sure if they changed the conversion system)

Hi! I have 89 average this year in 9th grade does canada universities look to your grade in grade 9?I have low marks this year.will it affect my college application? My parents is planning to migrate in canada with my brother and I.
Hi Atika! However, you are eligible to apply to universities next year, meaning you will start your first year of uni/college sept 2023.
