Andy is not only a phenomenal composer but also a true testament to resilience. Looking at this beautiful studio, you'd never guess it was completely destroyed just a few years ago in a devastating fire... the photos are heartbreaking. That aside, what a fantastic interview. Thank you, Synthax! It's bonkers to think that this intricate setup runs entirely on that little Madiface USB 2.0 box. RME truly is in a league of its own.
Glad you enjoyed the interview! It's such a beautiful space, especially when you know the history regarding the fire (which has already been well documented in other interviews). We were pretty jealous of the selection of gear he's got running through that MADIface USB too!
I turn my computer on and off every day. And I don’t think I’ve had a single day where UAD Console didn’t need to be force restarted. This is true for several operating system versions, and several versions of UAD Console. An interface that puts extra effort into being rock solid is really appealing.
haha , it for my PT rig (which don't really use anymore) on some project they still like Stems in PT both are connected via ADAT to the A32pro , its amazing I can monitor PT via Cubase Monitor section or in RME mix . works better than ever
Great video! I'm really curious, which control surface Andy is using? Is it Avid Eucontrol? I'm using Steinberg Nuendo and looking for something to use that's not the hefty Yamaha Nuage.
Best drivers in the business! It might not be the most exciting feature (well-written drivers), but it's vital for professional users who have a job to do, deadlines and clients to worry about etc. If you just want to plug in and get on with recording/mixing RME is the one.
Fantastic video, thank you for sharing this.

Awesome, that ferrorish unit is on my list!
Thanks yeah they fly under the radar a bit to be honest - Really good gear though!
What a nerdy interview! Thanks for going in-depth, this is fantastic!
Haha yep we're all audio nerds here

3:09 Does anybody know what guitar model this is?
9:43 Casually glance over the Scarlett 18i20 and Octo Pre Dynamic ;). It's okay, we all need a backup rig.
Lol, I can't speak for what Andy was on before but he's def using RME and Ferrofish now 😎

@@SynthaxAudioUK Ha, don't get me wrong; I'm an RME fanboy till the end, but I also have some Focusrite gear 😁

He has a bunch of controllers, but the big ones with the iPads and faders are Avid S1's + an Avid Dock.
I totally get what Andy says with RME it’s so much easier, Apogee and the drivers were not straight forward
