Hi, from Texas. I finally got a swarm that decided to stay.
Hi from Texas…. that’s exciting so happy for you. I will be taking a colony to my cabin in Arkansas. I hope I don’t have a problem where they don’t want to stay. 😊
Grassy Fork Farm - I harvested 12 lbs last year (first year for one hive out of 4) they are already storing it now! Should be a good year for me I think.
Thank you for your information and entertaining videos!

I'm sorry I couldn't make it live tonight! We are heading to Long Island tomorrow after I'm done work, so I was busy all night getting things done around the house for the trip. Another great livestream though and I'm hoping I can make next weeks!

Hi, from Texas. I finally got a swarm that decided to stay, this year.

Hi David I'm new to beekeeping, I have a question.
I got a swarm last year that I managed to capture in a box and transported over to a hive.
They decided to stay and build their new home in my garden.
Now they survived the winter inside my home, since I don't have a barn.
Now it's almost may and I am planning on splitting them.
I will split the hive without looking for the queen, and am planning on leaving the lower level of the hive in place for the workers to return and build up again.
Now my question remains, how far can I put the upper part of the hive that has been split from the original hive.
I have a spot roughly 4km further down the road.
Is it possible to set this hive so far away with brood and the bees that where already inside the hive from the original spot?
Or do I need to set the new split hive close to the old one
Thanks for your advice
I'm struggling with ants.Could you do a video? I have tried everything suggested. I keep hoping you will address this problem but I guess some areas really don't have the problem. I just tried boric acid in beetle traps mixed with crisco and a little sugar and boric acid. I put the traps in with my top board feeder that is made with your mixer suggestion. My hives were covered with ants the next day and I had to remove all the food I had given my new packages of bees. I'm concerned my bees will starve again. I have had 5 years of beekeeping loosing all my bees every year. I tried tangle foot and my bees got stuck. I've tried ant cant spray to keep bees from climbing legs. Cinnamon, diatomaceous earth earth, water under legs. Bees on concrete.

Are the cappings from brood and honey different or do they just appear different because the honey is wet ?
