To get the approval of all 3 Elvis generations is really something and I hope all the team gets awarded for their amazing work. No other movie made me go to 8 different theaters to watch it. And now I watched it on HBO max and it was stunning!!!
Please give Austin Butler and Baz the credit for the immense amount of research and hard work they put into creating this film. It was their integrity and search for authenticity that makes this film so convincing a portrayal of a cultural icon. Immense commitment! Xx
A wonderful story Elvis was one of a kind and Austin Butler was Elvis in this film He became the Elvis, sounds like Elvis talks like Elvis. Oscar performance!!
I loved this movie. It was perfect. I am a 87 year old man, so I was THERE when Elvis was KING. Austin Butler was great in portraying the King of rock & roll. Rock & roll may have changed a lot thru the years, but Ekvis started it all in the later 50's. And I saw it with my sister and brother. Just the three of us which made it very dear. And this is neither here nor there, but when I was a kid I loved Captain Marvel Jr comic books just like Elvis Presley did.
Wow! What a time to be alive! I'm a 38yo Australian woman and I've been an Elvis Fan my whole life. My father is a musician, that's how I discovered n truly learned about the Pioneer and King of Rock n Roll. Much love to you x
Do you remember the time Elvis was on Ed Sullivan & shown only from the waist up because he was "Elvis the Pelvis"? All those religious hipocrites & bible thumpers from the south deemed his gyrations not fit for family entertainment. That was on a Sunday, January 6,1957. That's the day I was born! Elvis was 21 @ rhe time, & hiss birthday was 2 days after mine, January 8, 1935
@@sallyweinreich5769 I remember the name of course, "Elvis the Pelvis" I didn't make fun of it back then cause I thought , well yeah, that's Elvis the Pelvis..it's how he moves. Elvis however didn't like that nickname. He thought it was childish. It didn't stick with him too long though. As he got older, that name went to the back burner.. Loved the movie.. saw it 3 times. Ordered it too. Love that man to this day! ❤🎶🎤
Elvis was the best, remember when he died, didn’t believe …. Lisa Marie kept the family name going & will she’ll will be remembered for that , I saw Elvis once in Nashville , will never forget Elvis or Lisa Marie, Especially when she sang with him Daddy Don’t Cry 7:02
Mr BB King loved Elvis: 'Before Elvis we had Little Black Sambo, separate black restrooms and water fountains, and colored events that kept us away from the whites', BB King noted as he mention that Presley would attend events especially designated just for African-Americans. In June 1956, Presley ignored Memphis's segregation ordinances by attending 'Colored Night' at the local fairgrounds amusement park. The following December, King was there as Presley opened up almost unbreakable racial barriers by attending and supporting the segregated WDIA black radio station's annual fund-raising event for 'needy black children' at Memphis' Ellis Auditorium. King wrote in his autobiography that he 'liked Elvis. I saw him as a fellow Mississippian. I was impressed by his sincerity. When he came to the Goodwill Review (the event WDIA fund raisers of 1956 and 1957), he did himself proud'. 'The Goodwill Revues were important', he wrote. 'The entire black community turned out. All the DJs carried on, putting on skits and presenting good music'. In his autobiography, King said he held no grudges because 'Elvis didn't steal any music from anyone. He just had his own interpretation of the music he'd grown up on, same is true for everyone. I think Elvis had integrity'. 'If anyone says Elvis Presley was a racist', charged B.B. King in the 2010 interview. 'Then they don't know a thing about Elvis Presley or music history. 'Many nights after we finished our sets and I'd go up to his suite', King stated. 'I'd play Lucille (on Elvis' guitar) and sing with Elvis, or we'd take turns. It was his way of relaxing'. 'I'll tell you a secret', King winked and laughed. 'We were the original Blues Brothers because that man Elvis knew more blues songs than most in the business - and after some nights it felt like we sang everyone one of them." 'Let me tell you the definitive truth about Elvis Presley and racism', The King of the Blues, B.B. King said, 'With Elvis, there was not a single drop of racism in that man. And when I say that, believe me I should know'.
It was just meant to be for Austin to play Elvis‘ kudos Elvis would be proud as well as his family is thank you to all that dedicated their time and their talent ☮️👑🥰🎤🎼🙏💘😇💥🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I lived down the street from Graceland in Whitehaven (The Meadow Oaks Apartments) from 1975-1977. I became friends with Elvis' uncle Vester. I visited Graceland often and spent a lot of time at the little memorabilia house at the foot of the mansion. Graceland was always particularly beautiful during Christmas. I saw Elvis several times but never got to meet Priscilla or Lisa-Marie. I am still amazed and speechless that this is a part of my history. Kudos to the movie, it brings back so many memories. It looks well done.

This is the best movie I’ve seen in a very long time! At the end it literally rips your heart out and I figured I was making a fool of myself bawling my eyes out in the theater till the lights came on and everyone was crying! Thank God for those black artists that literally had a hand in making Elvis! I’m a white girl and I love black churches! I love to hear them preach, I love the singing and the shouting! Austin Butler was only paid $750.000.00 to play Elvis while Tom Hanks was paid 8 million for his role. the role of tom Hanks could have been played by other actors no one could have replaced Austin Butler. I hope someone edits the movie taking out Tom Hanks because he is in every scene, I could tolerate 30 min when I stopped watching the movie. Lisa and Priscilla was correct thank you Baz to get his story at least almost 100% correct. This is a story about Elvis's career. This was not one of those movies that was made to come out to tell about his life that they knew nothing about or made up to sell the movie. Now lets face it there was a couple times that they played a song at one of the venues that the song was not out yet, or it wasnt exactly at that stage; but at least it happened. Austin didnt look like Elvis, nor sound exactly like him, or move exactly like him, however Austin did an amazing job portraying such an icon. And Lisa is correct when she says so many people portrayed Elvis with stories made up with the help of those who did nothing but used him when he was alive and disrespected him after his death and used him for their own gain. And to Tom Hanks he did a great job playing Colonel
At last a film that actually did him justice, loved every minute. Seems all people ever did was take from him rather than give him anything back and finally we have. He was a gift from God ❤️
I think Austin Butler is a great actor and great moon dancer..especially when he act to cried for his mother passed away in Elvis movie...that I saw it in him when he cried in real life when he lost his own mother. He well-deserves the awards. I hope the Presley family will invite him to be their family. Lisa Marie needed that in him since she lost her son Benjamin.

Not since GWTW has a film created such a stir! This has to do with the pre-release publicity which has been nothing short of SUPERB! Congrats to all who brought their sensibilities to bear on this aspect of getting "ELVIS" up and running!
I feel like every Elvis fan was waiting for him to fail not all fans but a few on how he didn’t look or sing or talk like the king and now they’re all singing praise and eating crow !
@@MelMeltalks31 There are 3 Immortals from this period. Marlon, Marilyn and, of course, Elvis. We've waited 40 yrs. to see Elvis's story done justice. I felt the stars were finally aligned for a fresh look. I'm so happy not to be disappointed. GO ELVIS!
Mr. Edwards, you did a fantastic job throught this entire 30 minute look into the not only the making of the movie, the actors themselves, but bringing out the thoughts & feelings of everyone involved, Great Job!
Loved this Etalk! And Baz and entire cast is phenomenal. Austin definitely deserves to win an award for his outstanding performance. It’s great that Baz spent time giving credit to the performers on Beale street and they should be recognized for their contributions to American music and culture. Well done by all!!
Many Oscar Nominations coming! Many winners ... ELVIS, Best Picture Austin Butler, Oscar Best Actor Baz Luhrmann, Best Director ... and the list goes on!
I absolutely agree (although I haven't seen rocketman and don't plan on watching it), Austin was 20x more believable as Elvis than Rami was as Freddie.
I loved both of those movies but the ELVIS movie is on a whole different level. Austin gave me deja vu back to when Elvis was alive. It was haunting and spooky.
I feel the same way Lisa Marie felt about him morphing into Austin’s body. I think that when Austin spent that month in Graceland alone, Elvis Presley possessed that young man he was a replica of Elvis on that stage. I was just utterly utterly moved
The word and meaning is channeled not possession... Possession would mean something entirely different... think of evil and satanism... the spirit does not take possession unless it is of satan and evil...
@@janice5528 You have plenty of opportunity to tell your story and use ANY word that you want to use. She used the word that she wanted. Buzz 🐝 off lady.🤣Get a life for goodness sakes.
Possession usually follows evil, wiccan and conjuring which could not be of Elvis as he was not evil... he believed in Christ and would not be sticking around like a ghost, though I believe his soul has departed the substance of his spirit is still with us as we remember him, and shares that through God so whatever you believe in "possession" that is not so good... One spirit to possess another spirit...He may have just been simply inspired... I dont think he stayed there a month either... Austin said he visited a couple times... But where did you get the rumor that he stayed a month... I would need to hear that from a source more reliable..
After watching a documentary about his forensic report, I could not sleep for few days... I can't but feel sad that ppl around him destroyed and killed him ... his life was a tragic one.
Great interview. True Elvis fans already knew where Elvis got his influence. It’s these young hipsters that try to paint the picture of a racist who misappropriated music.
@@alanunderwoodsr8622 I believe black artists were royally screwed by radio stations and record companies when it came to royalties/credit, BUT that's on them, NOT on Elvis. None of that is his fault. He liked a song, he recorded it. People need to stop with the "Elvis stole black music BS". He was inspired and mixed it with other styles to create his own sound stamp.
@@christineoneal666 I agree. He also liked to record country music and rockabilly from a variety of artists. Interestingly no one says he stole that music!
I was very dubious to see this film as only one Elvis. But with Pricilla & Lisa's endorsement & fabulous write ups from true 👍 fans 👏 I went along to the cinema with a open mind . Absolutely fabulous fantastic film all acting parts fabulous in fact everything ❤ was so beautifully presented & respect to Elvis & family & fans . Haha good!! I thought I was crazy for seeing it twice. I'm going for a 3rd time.
Saw it, felt it and must do it over again. Elvis has been the one since I was 12. Aston brougth him back. Thank you! The Oscar goes to….
I loved Elvis. He was my first favorite Icon.
It was divine intervention… had to be… add his talent? Can’t fail!!! Loved it!
Just thinking about this movie give me goosebumps every time that’s how good it is
I saw the movie ELVIS 3 DAYS AGO. THE MOVIE WAS WONDERFUL & AUSTIN YOU WERE MAGNIFICENT AS ELVIS. I can't stop thinking about it & want to see ELVIS again. I love ELVIS & YOU.
I can’t say enough about this young man, he awesome.
ELVIS GOT RESURRECTED ❤Thank you Austin Butler🎉
At last a film that actually did him justice, loved every minute. Seems all people ever did was take from him rather than give him anything back and finally we have. He was a gift from God ❤️
Elvis is the King of Rock and Roll.
As an Elvis fan, I was looking forward to seeing the movie but Tom Hanks ruined it for me. I am praying that someone edits tom Hanks out of the movies.
Yes Lisa has been home a lot after Benjamin died. She feels tender toward Austin now.
made me cry, best movie i've ever seen.
Love his voice now. Can listen to him talk all day.
Me, too...Love him. Our Elvis of today.
This movie keeps your eyes glued to the screen. So much to enjoy. And Austin Butler is WONDERFUL!
Great job Austin. ❤️❤️
I loved this etalk, I love Elvis, and I loved this movie!
you just love everything now dont ya
EXACTLY WHAT I SAID. I TOTALLY AGREE!!! I saw Elvis 3 times
I've seen it a bunch of times too! Loved it!
I've seen the movie four times, and I'm going again :) Can't get enough!
I saw 👀 the Elvis movie it was AWESOME! 🤩 Austin Butler did a fantastic job portraying Elvis 🤩👍🏽🎥🍿. I been to Graceland tour Elvis home 🏡 years ago. I will add this movie to my movie collection. 👍🏽🤩
Elivs is my favourite singer in the world with A B his the king of rock and roll Elvis Presley
Young Girls are all about living for Austin's performance in this film but Tom Hanks was also amazing and almost unrecognizable.
Not since GWTW has a film created such a stir! This has to do with the pre-release publicity which has been nothing short of SUPERB! Congrats to all who brought their sensibilities to bear on this aspect of getting "ELVIS" up and running!
I haven't been so buoyed up over a movie since Cameron's Titanic.
GO ELVIS!
@@pikemeredith5604 I like the pun! Yeah!! 🌊🚢
Mr. Edwards, you did a fantastic job throught this entire 30 minute look into the not only the making of the movie, the actors themselves, but bringing out the thoughts & feelings of everyone involved, Great Job!
Elvis had so much talent ....he didnt steal anything
One word……”Oscar “ 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Loved this Etalk! And Baz and entire cast is phenomenal. Austin definitely deserves to win an award for his outstanding performance. It’s great that Baz spent time giving credit to the performers on Beale street and they should be recognized for their contributions to American music and culture. Well done by all!!
AUSTIN DESERVES A WIN WIN WIN. OSCAR STAR
You say to yourself what could be shown about Elvis that we don't already know
All I can say is just go see it you'll be wowed !
Greatest biopic ever done
I saw the first day of opening and awesome movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 Austin Butler the Oscar is a waiting for you
I love this movie! I have seen it 8 times. I'm going to say Austin Butler, will get at least 2 Oscar's
the most amazing movie I have ever seen!!! We have a NEW Elvis, my god!!!
Many Oscar Nominations coming! Many winners ...
ELVIS, Best Picture
Austin Butler, Oscar Best Actor
Baz Luhrmann, Best Director ... and the list goes on!
I Amen to that.
Great job by all ! Loved it !Will forever be a ELVIS FAN!💞💞
i can honestly say this biopic was more honest and true than Bohemian Rhapsody or Rocketman combined.
I absolutely agree (although I haven't seen rocketman and don't plan on watching it), Austin was 20x more believable as Elvis than Rami was as Freddie.
@@lessalazar9068 I fully agree. Rami had nothing to do with the real Freddie to be frank. He was just an impersonator to me
I loved both of those movies but the ELVIS movie is on a whole different level. Austin gave me deja vu back to when Elvis was alive. It was haunting and spooky.
Really enjoyed this round of interviews- the Host was able to bring us new information and insight from more performers. I appreciate his work.
Elvis Forever ❤
Austin should totally go on tour and perform live as Elvis
No I don't think so.
A superb film
I feel the same way Lisa Marie felt about him morphing into Austin’s body. I think that when Austin spent that month in Graceland alone, Elvis Presley possessed that young man he was a replica of Elvis on that stage. I was just utterly utterly moved
The word and meaning is channeled not possession... Possession would mean something entirely different... think of evil and satanism... the spirit does not take possession unless it is of satan and evil...
@@janice5528 Thank you but I gather you know what I meant
@@janice5528 You have plenty of opportunity to tell your story and use ANY word that you want to use. She used the word that she wanted. Buzz 🐝 off lady.🤣Get a life for goodness sakes.
I never heard Austin sent a month in Graceland alone...can you tell me where I can find this information?..thanks!
Elvis = GOAT.
He’s okay
Elvis is the coolest of cool. EP IS SO FANTASTIC. I JUST Adore this man for ever a ever.
Great interview. True Elvis fans already knew where Elvis got his influence. It’s these young hipsters that try to paint the picture of a racist who misappropriated music.
What a Fantastic Interview !!
One of the Best!
Elvis did not STEAL black music, he used it. He incorporates it. He was the sum of many styles .
Elvis lived black music. Nobody can take that from him. Those who cry misappropriation are just jealous of Elvis' success. It was his true life.
Exactly
@@christineoneal666 I agree. He also liked to record country music and rockabilly from a variety of artists. Interestingly no one says he stole that music!
Exactly. I don’t understand why they always demonize him.
I love the movie @elvismovie .. thank Austin butler. You wonderful ❤️👍
I sang along with great music 🎶 you could not help but sing & move . I laughed & cried & left quite emotional 😭 Absolutely best film & recommended to all my Elvis fans to see on the big screen if Pricilla did not genuinely endorsement on the film 😀 there was no way I would have seen such a master piece of art 😀 I would go again . Brilliant & happy they did not show his passing as far as I am concerned Elvis lives on around the world in spirit & great music in the universe 👍 for all to love & respect.
Ty for sharing this great all access Canada loves Elvis😁😁🇨🇦
