I come from a post-soviet country and I first saw this movie on a DVD disk I found in a junkyard. It was a compilation of movies with Martin Lawrence on one side and the Wayans brothers on the other. I remember the DVD was called "Black Humor" (I know, racism). It was then, as a kid, that I was introduced to black culture and I completely fell in love. It was a great time..
i used to watch this all the time when i was little. i remember the dvd i had got scratched and i was so upset. i need to watch it as an adult as theres gotta be so much more humor i havent seen
My mom used to buy me random movies for my birthday and this was one of them, still have the dvd. Can't even count how many times I've watched it. The dance scene makes me lose it every damn time
YESSSSS! I have been binging your channel, you are sooo funny and entertaining to watch! :) Cannot wait to see what's next and watch your channel grow! Blue Streak is another classic Martin Lawrence movie! Also Big Momma's House 1 & 2 even though those are a bit silly, but classic!
The crazy thing about public executions is that we aren't all that far removed from them. We like to think that public executions occurred back in the medieval times, but in the western world we've actually had public executions as recently as the 70s in France. Even still, *technically* speaking you can attend an execution in US prisons, but I don't count those as public executions since they're sitll occurring in a private environment and you have to apply and get approval to attend the execution instead of simply walking up to it like you could in the past. Still, my point is that we aren't all that far removed from our ancestors who went to public executions to see what was up. We've always been fascinated with death.
Super underrated classic lol I watched it again like half a year avo and recommended it, glad to see you're finally here! Now you gotta see A Knights Tale
I love this movie! Early 2000's back when Martin Lawrence was popping out hilarious fun movies. Please also check out Blue Streak it's another good one.
Oh boy this brings back memories! My mum brought back the dodgiest cam quality of this from Bali when i was like 13. I must have watched this at least 30 times aha!
This shit is crazy. Yesterday I was looking up reactions to this movie and there was literally nothing except 2 people with like no views (or charisma. That's why they got no views). This is my 2nd favorite knight movie (A knight's tale is first) I can't believe you are doing a reaction the next day that's a hilarious coincidence. Like if I say Polar bears love solar flares and then tomorrow you see a video about a polar bear looking at a solar flare that just happened 3 minutes prior your brain will explode as mine did when I saw this video appear in my feed.
Wow, Leo. I haven’t seen this movie in a long time. I remember when I saw it with my step-father that the part where Jamal was teaching the rebels some self-defense, he was telling me that some of them was moves that football players do. When he returned to the real world, it was a major coincidence that the girl that he met in that time period also exists in ours. Great one as always. Check out Game Night or Night School (Extended Edition). They’re both great forms of comedy. 😉
This movie is one of my favs! As a lame white gay who goes to ren fairs and enjoys everything Renaissance/medieval etc this movie has a special place in my heart and I'm convinced made me atleast a lil cooler (see?! I spelled it lil! 😇🙈) Thx to Martin Lawrence also love everyone else in this film! Tom wilk. Is super funny! Love this movie and always will🤣🤣🤣 Also what happened to yr scary movie 2 vid man?! I was in the mood to watch it last night😂
The word Moor refers to the black people in Europe of that time, before racism officially existed. Shakespeare wrote a play featuring one of these Moors. It was made into the movie called O. Their was even an African who was queen in Europe during the late 1400s during the beginning of the trans Atlantic slave trade. Her name was Queen Sophia. She boycotted sugar in protest of slavery. This isn’t mentioned because our society is still racist and needs to exclude black people from history despite “no longer being racist”. Take in mind beheadings being watched by families, is just like the hanging of black people 60 years ago. Videos of black people being murdered by police is watched by families on the news who use the fact that someone has a record of selling loose cigarettes to justify by it. Nothing has changed. We are all still serfs. Serving the kings and landlords. Barely surviving but expected to ask ourselves “What can we do for the fiefdom”, as the Martin Lawrence character asked. As we are supposed to risk our lives exchanging one tyrant for another. We are trained to play matyr to people who think they have the right to control everyone by starving them to death. All while being told we should be grateful because things are better than they were. Even though they aren’t. Which is another reason we black people are taught their history begins with slavery, they weren’t around before than, never held important roles in society, and that even the Reconstruction era after the civil war when black people held government positions was nothing more than white northern carpetbaggers and scalawags controlling black people. I was educated in New York as a child to believe that black people wasn’t intelligent enough to be politicians. Fortunately I went to a school without textbooks but good teachers who had us buy books like, LIES MY HISTORY TECHER TOLD ME. Which was the beginning of my seeing that education is nothing but white male supremacy brainwashing. The few lies exposed made me realize for every lie the book exposed there were the hundreds that were ignored. It made me realize the ability to exercise critical thinking can’t be taught. And that you can’t trust a bigot, liar, someone who expects you to believe them blindly, or ANYONE to tell you what is or isn’t true. Even the smartest people don’t have the monopoly on the truth or tell you want to think. While the word Moor is sometimes used as an insult in current times, the few times it’s acknowledged that black people were in Europe, thats only a current reflection on how racist our society is. If you pay attention you’ll notice how every time black people are mentioned in history, their role is minimized. For example, few people mention that Harriet Tubman was also a spy for the north. Those that do mention she had brain damage as if that NEGATES her freeing slaves while spying to help the north win the war. If she were a white man we’d ALL know her history and the fact that she did this with brain damage would make it MORE impressive. It’s easy for the racism to become invisible because it’s so consistent and present in everyway. Plus we’re discouraged from talking about it. We still don’t have freedom of speech. However once you start seeing it, you see it everywhere. All while hearing how great everything is in between news reports of black people being killed by police. We’re expected to celebrate the rights “we have” while still begging for those rights to liars who don’t follow their own law or respect for citizens they treat like kids. How can you expect democracy from people who believe people are too stupid to know what they want? YOU HAVE TO THINK FOR YOURSELF AND QUESTION EVERYTHING.
"because our society is still racist and needs to exclude black people from history despite “no longer being racist”. bro? what place is saying they are "no longer racist"? africa with apartheid? america with trump? asia that hates foreigners? west europe that hates migrants? east europe that executes migrants? sound like you're the one who doesn't question anything they hear. the internet is free, educate yourself.
I have been doing medieval recreation all my life and what surprises me is some of the armor in this is better historically (maybe not this time period but an actual valide armor piece) than some big budget movies that are trying to be serious. And NOPE you didnt want to live back then. Heck I wouldnt have wanted to live before the 70s.
I loved this movie when it came out haha I love that you react to the lesser known movies that others aren't reacting to at the moment. It really sets you apart from other reactors.
i remeber the chess scene to this day because of the implication of the philosophy of power; "sometimes the queen must be sacrificed for the good of the kingdom" basically saying; "you must sacrifice your greatest asset (queen/soul) to win at "the game/life"... but the one who doesn't sacrifice himself wins.. so totalitarianism is the !choice! to give up control, not an inevitability. i like that moral, as far as a movie like this goes to present it.
Yea a bandwagon, but who are we kidding, we'd probably watch them to because the best part about all this is getting to see someone's reaction to a movie you know and love.
Great timing with this movie reaction Mr Video with Bad Boys : Ride Or Die out in cinema next week i can't wait. Great reaction as always this movie is very underatted please do Blue Streak next
I use Joico heat protector, Amika Dry Shampoo, Bumble and Bumble Dryspun (fine hair and it gives it texture), and Verb Ghost Shampoo/Conditioner, mainly. But I have a real Ulta shopping problem so new things are thrown in from time to time.
Lol more Martin Lawrence plzzzzzz..Blue Streak and Big Mommas House are bangers..😎😁Tommy Davinson had some good ones too..Booty Call, Woo..Chris Tucker and Charlie Sheens "Money Talk"..they were 90s films but Black Knight has a 90s-00s vibe so it rides that era as a gem too.
"Nothing to lose" and "Blue streak" are two more totally underrated Lawrence comedies I liked
