45:37 First, this movie was a remake of a 1974 movie with the same title. In that movie the lead role (Paul Crewe) was played by Burt Reynolds. Same guy who came back to play the coach in this movie. This movie was also still really early in Terry Crews's and Tracy Morgan's film careers. They were just starting to get into movies. This is also one of only a very few movies that Nelly was ever in. And they ended up with four different wrestlers in this movie (Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Great Khali, Goldberg, and Kevin Nash), mainly because they were looking for big guys and for most of them it was either one of their first movies, or at least one of the first ones they did outside of WWE Films. I'm sure they were looking for the opportunity to do something different. They also had help from veteran actors like William Fichtner (head of the guards), James Cromwell (warden), and Cloris Leachman (warden's secretary). It was also a different kind of movie for Sandler. He was funny, but not in the ridiculous and over-the-top way he is in his other movies. Seems like it all came together to make a better movie than they likely expected at the time. Still holds up.

Just so you know, the guy who played Adam Sandler 1on1, is Michael Irvin. Hof receiver and super bowl champion with the Dallas Cowboys. Edit: commenting as I watch, yes, that line flip is legal. My Varsity team almost went a full season running these style of plays after touchdowns bc of an injured kicker.

Such a good movie.. this is a remake of a movie from 74. Ive actually never seen the orig myself. Burt Reynolds (who played Nate Scarborough in this version) plays the Paul Crew role in the orig.
I may be wrong, but I believe this film, and the original was based on a true story. Loosely. The game actually happened and the convicts won. Great reaction Leo 👍👍
When Leo took his time to get ready, before saying anything, did anybody else get The Rock vibes???? lol. I mean he sat down, calmed himself, straightened out his jacket, positioned the mic a few times, then waited a second or two, THEN finally started speaking. Just like the Rock would do before his intro "Finally! The Rock, HAS COME BACK to........" Maybe it's just me, but I got THOSE vibes from this intro.

One of my favorite films!! And I loved your Randy Moss references! (I work at his college Alma mater, MU.) The coach is played by Burt Reynolds, who was the lead in the original version of this movie.
This movie is fun. You need to see the original, though. Also: “Smokey and the Bandit” (Burt Reynolds) “Major League” (baseball) “The Replacements” (Keanu Reeves in another football movie. It’s actually one of my favorite movies ever.)
Most professional wrestlers actually did play some football before they came wrestlers like Steve was I believe in my member correctly if you're in high school and or college they also had Kevin Nash I don't know if he ever played football before but he was the one that they switched out the stairways with estrogen. Deacon Moss is actually a professional football player that retired I believe them more quickly he played for the Giants if I remember correctly. The Great Khali never played football but he was actually a police officer before he was in the WWE and then Goldberg was actually on the Atlanta falcons before he started in wrestling in WCW
Michael Irvin (who plays Deacon Moss) played for the Cowboys when they were a dynasty in the 90s. He was really an incredible player and was a big reason those Cowboys teams were so great.

This is a classic right here! Sad to see it isn't on Patreon, but this is still funny af!
Man Adam Sandler was one of my favorites as a kid, got this movie on VHS even 😂😂
I RECCOMMENDED THIS AND IT WAS PICKED! feels good man. Keep killing it bro
I saw this movie in middle school with a bunch of other middle school kids and we were laughing thru the whole movie and the grownups were getting mad at us 😂
They had to eventually move the theater away from our middle school 😂
Micheal Irvin was THE wide reciever for the Cowboys in the 90s dream team. He was the guy Adam played against in basketball. One of my favorite wide recievers of all time. You would always hear " Its Aikman to Irvin for a touchdown!" Plus the rest of the team are Hall Of Famers! You should look into that!
Such a good movie.. this is a remake of a movie from 74. Ive actually never seen the orig myself. Burt Reynolds (who played Nate Scarborough in this version) plays the Paul Crew role in the orig.
This was an absolute blast to watch along with. Thank you for this one Leo.
I may be wrong, but I believe this film, and the original was based on a true story. Loosely. The game actually happened and the convicts won. Great reaction Leo 👍👍
I believe you are correct, although the new one is probably based on the old one which was based on a true story
That dude you think you know is Burt Reynolds from the first movie Longest Yard from 1974. And Smokey and the Bandit.
This is such a fun movie. Joey Diaz is in this and I love his comedy.
Cloris Leachman always played the secondary roles so well! She will always be Frau Blücher to me, though.
The Rock, HAS COME BACK to........"
Maybe it's just me, but I got THOSE vibes from this intro.
The old actor(coach) was Burt Reynolds.
Just in case anyone was curious these are all noteworthy people I have noticed
Comedians: Chris Rock, Tracey Morgan Adam Sandler, Joey diaz .
Actors : James Cromwell, William fitchner, Burt Reynolds Terry crews, David Patrick Kelly, Nicholas Turturro
Athletes: Micheal Irvin, Brian bosworth,
Bill Romanoswki, Bob sapp ,
Wrestlers: Goldberg, Stone cold ,Kevin Nash , Great Khali,
Rappers : Nelly
One of my favourite reactions all year, thanks Leo
I think there are two other versions of this movie, the first with Burt Reynolds as Paul also called "The longest yard" and the other is called "Mean Machine" and is basically the same movie but about Soccer and with Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham.
Theyre all brilliant in their own way.
This is one of my favorite movies EVER!! Watch it every time I come across it while channel surfing. ❤
Leo man you have to do a reaction to The Last Boy Scout.(it’s on Netflix right now.)
It’s the most underrated and most fun action movie of the 90s
Seconded. The Last Boy Scout is amazing.
id be extremely careful reacting to things, especially new things on netflix at the moment they are very trigger happy with copyright claims and strikes
Nice! I was wondering when this would come up! Thank you Mr. Video :)
That’s cowboy’s legend Michael Irvin that Sandler played 1 v 1. Bunch of wrestlers (who are former football players) and pro football players in this movie man.
Love your reactions - and you're dressed to match and manage the Mean Machine!!!
The Guards the prisoners and the prisonwives. I loved how if they were going to 'go there' they just went for it. One of the best remakes ever.
That’s my boy, Blue!! I’ve been waiting for this reaction for a minute, knowing you were going to like this on for sure Leo! It’s about damn time, haha. Sometimes it just feels like a good ol’ Happy Madison movie is underrated and under appreciated even tho it leaves you feeling good after the movie. Plenty more out there, like ‘Grown Ups’ ‘Waterboy’ ‘Big Daddy.’ I know you got my list already for Adam Sandler movies. Keep up the great work Leo, as always. And looking forward to continuing the Star Wars saga with you!
The old guy on the team is Bert Reynolds. He played the Adam Sadler part in the original movie in the 70s
Rocky! 🥊🥊🥊
7:56 Oh, where there's a will there's a way.
React to "A BRONX TALE"
AMAZING MOVIE!💪
Yes one of my favorites
"Can of corn, can of corn and ill be fine can of corn" Joey Coco Diaz👍😂😂
Mr.Video u gotta watch Bad Santa 1 & 2 for the holiday season please!
🤣🤣... "I.. Guesss.." 🤣🤣 I'm so glad I found this channel, you are legit the best reactionist on YT.. 👍😁
Fun fact terry crews was providing security on the set of the longest yard he meet up with Adam Sandler a few times and they game him his first roll in a movie
really so this is his first movie? so many great one-liners from him you just can't forget even after so many years... you gots to always protect the mcnuggets
@@AllWaysBig he did white chicks and several other films before this
12:28 That actor is Burt Reynolds. Probably most famous for Smokey And The Bandit but he also starred in the original version of The Longest Yard back in 1974.
All dislikes are from Will Smith
If you want more comedies, there's a film about a wedding and a highschool reunion; this movie is packed with former NFL players, pro wrestlers and big name actors
This movie was great, a big lesson to teach about having honor and humility and having your friends backs.
23:10 lol he’s actually Michael Irvin, a Hall of Fame wide receiver, but his name in the movie is Deacon Moss which I always found funny 😂
- *THE GODFATHER (1972)* 😭GOAT
You and Mellverse are my two most fav reaction channels!! ❤❤
Haven't seen this in awhile, I enjoyed your reaction to this! If you continue down the Adam Sandler movie route with football, you should check out The Waterboy. Also football in general, check Varsity Blues and Friday Night Lights, if you haven't seen either one are great choices.
One of my favorite films!! And I loved your Randy Moss references! (I work at his college Alma mater, MU.) The coach is played by Burt Reynolds, who was the lead in the original version of this movie.
This movie is fun. You need to see the original, though. Also:
“Smokey and the Bandit” (Burt Reynolds)
“Major League” (baseball)
“The Replacements” (Keanu Reeves in another football movie. It’s actually one of my favorite movies ever.)
Chicks dig scars.
+1 for Major League
I LOVE the Replacements!😍
@@christi776 Definitely one of my favorites. If it’s on, I watch it. Brings back the “Electric Slide”. 💜
Burt Reynolds playing Coach in this movie was the original Paul Crew in the original Longest Yard movie
The rock ( dwayne johnson ) also played football before WWE
Michael Irvin (who plays Deacon Moss) played for the Cowboys when they were a dynasty in the 90s. He was really an incredible player and was a big reason those Cowboys teams were so great.
Kevin played basketball and even went semi pro overseas...
Steve played college ball till he jacked up his knees
Goldberg played for the falcons
10000% RIGHT. SECURITY IS NOT HAPPINESS
ISTG, Tracy Morgan is the best part of every movie he’s in. I CAN NOT take my eyes off him. 🤣🤣🤣
Also, not Randy Moss but MICHAEL IRVIN. A 🐐!
