Watering peanuts, the old fashioned way!

- Today we decided to have some fun and pull out an old traveler and an old pump motor, and water some peanuts. This used to be one of my favorite activities as a kid and it's been a while since they have run. Hearing that old motor fire up and run makes my hair stand up. Farming is a lifestyle, not a job.
The memories shared about the pump earned my subscription. As I’ve gotten older I have tried to pass down “stuff” and a little knowledge of the older ways but the younger ones here just don’t seem to care. Glad to see you out there keeping the old pieces going, at least every once in a while!
Also thought that was an LA accent, north central Alabama here.
Thankfully I caught the tail end of the travellers on our farm. I'd say around 2002 is when the last one bit the dust and hasn't been used since.
We still enjoy it from time to time but there’s no doubt a pivot is the way to go!
You just gave me a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
That bring memories of the 70s, when I grew tobacco.
Is that walters old pump

What size hose is that you're using, and how long is it to run from the irrigation pump to the traveler?
Field has underground irrigation but from the irrigation riser to the traveler there’s 660 feet of 4 inch hose
