The last year I farmed peanuts was 1998 I planted 40 acres of runner peanuts I averaged a little over a ton to the acre I made 96,680 pounds that was pretty good since I only had to make 50,000 pounds I used a John Deere 7000 maxemerge and I believe it was a 60-68 model long combine I prefer a long combine over a KMC because if the peanut vines are too dry KMC,s puts too much trash in the bin where a long combine puts less trash in the bin a long will work even if the vines are a little damp and a KMC will shut down when the vines get damp.
