  • You’ve gotten you Nock 2 It, set it to your liking. You’ve polished your shot and put your release through the ringer shooting target archery, in the tree stand or in the mountains out west. Just like any of your essential archery gear, your Nock 2 It requires maintenance from time to time so it will keep giving you those crisp, repeatable shots time and time again. In this video, John Dudley not only walks you through how to properly setup and adjust the Nock 2 It but also how to properly maintain it.

I have been struggling to reach the knob with my thumb and have been needing to curl my index finger to pull the release closer. I just realized my release came set up for left hand shooters, with the knob facing my palm when held in the right hand. I noticed in your videos it is mirrored so I swapped it and now I can actually reach.... If you are struggling to reach it, double check which side the knob is on. I was needing to curl my index finger to pull the release in to reach before

I've noticed on the newer nock 2 it and 2 smooth models there's no longer a small locking/set screw. Was this a design change by Carter, the releases sound and function the same. Was the set screw even needed before? If so why not now? Sorry for all the questions, luv all the educational videos, keep up all the excellent content!!!

Same question, no set screw to lock the adjustment screw? Is it supposed to be done this way or should there be on?

Question how far back should your hand be I just bought nock2it and think my draw length on my bow is to short

Thank you for the video. My release casing/jaw isn't holding tension on the string when I draw my bow. Draw weight is around 67lbs right now but with a pull test the metal tooth/catch opens a little bit when i get around 40lbs of tension. Smacked my face pretty hard. The catch opened about 1/3 of the way and the d loop slipped through midway through the draw. Will this maintenance help that too or is there something else I should do? Thank you!

Something has to be wrong with it. The jaw shouldn't be able to open part way like that.

My Nock2it doesn’t have the screw on the trigger to adjust the pressure. Maybe I have an old one?

Why between the 1rst version and this version there is no screw to adjust the trigger? On mine there is no screw to adjust the trigger.

Even the newer wise choice doesn’t have a travel adjustment on it. Only tension. Not 100% sure but I’m betting the internals on both of these releases is the same?

If you can please give me your store website I would appreciate it thanks.

Aside from the Nock On release lube, anything else work almost as well? Or any types of lubrication to avoid if we're on a road trip and forgot our Nock On lube?

I took mine apart and cleaned it all up and put just the tiniest bit of gun oil on all the components. I mean i wiped the excess off when i was done. I tried it and it was way too hot. I cranked the spring down more and it was still scary to use. I took it apart again and cleaned it all with iso. Its bone dry now and works great again.

@@shanerRC that’s good to know! So it can definitely make a difference. I was wondering if any lubricants would contain solvents or something that might damage components but I never thought it could be “too lubricated”

@MikeJones-vb1me its pretty well made. There's really nothing to damage. Its just the aluminum case, 2 stainless sear parts, the pins and the springs. After seeing it apart, i wouldn't worry at all about it falling in water, for example.

Hi hoping someone can give me some advice. I bought a Nock 2 It - I had a couple hundred shots on it - then it prematurely released. arround half to 2/3 of the way through the draw.
My first thought was faulty mechanism - I watched this video and adjusted it and that seemed to fix it - around 50 shots later it did it again. This time no adjustment I make fixing it. I've tried it on a few tiems - Now it's pre-releasing at the start of the draw so the release leaver thing that hooks on the loop is letting go - but the trigger still makes the click release sound when I squeze it after the pre-release.
I'm new to archery so if anyone has any advise for me I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

I just experienced the same problem with mine. It’s only about 9 months old, no warning whatsoever.
Was about 85% draw, thumb not near trigger and went off. Lost the arrow.
The shear that holds the string will not engage reliably, put the bow away and was hoping there would be something about it.
Did you ever find out if it’s a maintenance issue or something wrong with the release?
