Another great video Dave, cheers mate. I drove this car in a Race sim, it is a monster LOL. I just got back into slot cars recently have had my first in the 80's (still have some of them) and am even venturing out to a club tonight to see how hooked I get. I also have very limited space so only have a very basic test track at home, I envy you for your space greatly! You videos are fun and useful and the track footage is very well filmed, nice work! :) Subbed on both my accounts :)
Just watched a couple of my racing buddies race these on a Carrera track. With new BobKat rear and front tires, they handle much better, and the noise isn't terrible. Certainly a class to race amongst themselves, but several recent Carrera cars seem to be heavy IMO, including the Mustang GTY, BMW M4 GT3, and KTM XBow. Anyway, I loved the look of the car so much (one red, the other yellow), I decided I'm getting one to customize with Harry's tuning tips and a John Player Special livery paint job.
Thank you for this fantastic video! I am also deeply in love with this car, but I'm not allowed to run it if my wife is trying to sleep in the next room Lol!
I recently acquired the silver version of this car. As much of everything you say about it is true, I love it. 1; for the look ( as you do) 2; because it is a handful to drive. Its a good car to practice with. However, as you do, I hate how noisey it is.
Yes I believe the analogue version was sold out pretty much on preorders, there's still a few digital ones left some places but not many. I'd like to see a gangster-style street version too, carrera shy away from street versions though
Its funny, the light slot-its? The first thing they need is lead weights stuck down low on chassis. They simply fly right off the track, on a tight home track anyway. My Torino was really loud, till I stuck a different motor in it, now it sounds smooth like a turbine. Carrera motors are fairly inconsistent.
Yeah I really don't understand why the Slot Its are so ready to jump out when a sideways Gr5 car is most of the same components including the guide and so much less likely to de-slot?
Hiya , I just brought a carrera spirit of speed set from France. The set has come with a transformer with a 2 pin wall socket & not a uk 3 pin plug . Is there any way I can get an adaptor for this . I believe its got to be the same wattage as the transformer. Iam stuck with a set I can't use in the uk 🇬🇧. That's where I live . Any help would be helpful to me . Or has you viewer's got any ideas pls .
That's the set I started with and probably from the same place in France, get an EU to UK travel adaptor, those things are designed to take the electrical load of a hairdryer or a kettle which are many times the load of a carrera digital set :) Will be fine, mine is :)
@SlotR thank you , which 1 do you recommend? As not sure which 1 will do as I don't want to muck up the slot car set . Thank you for replying, it has helped me out of a rut iam in a mo because I can't use this set at mo 😢
@@davidprior8849 Argos, Wickes, most places like that do one for about a fiver, I'm actually using the one that came with my Xmas lights does the job fine, something like ebay item 352628882055 would do. I think the power pull of the transformer is 1.5- 3.5 Amps, so it really is next to nothing power wise
Can you do a utube vid on this as there are other people who have the same problem as me with these set that are sent from out of the uk 🇬🇧 . They may be a brighter than me to know what to do with this problem 😕. Others have suggested to cut off the 2 pin & wire it up to a uk plug but that will break the warranty on the set !! Thanks again , I will be watching your channel for more info later . 😀
@SlotR found it on ebay with the same number you gave me £ 4 - 99 . Thank you for your help , I'll tell you how it goes when I receive the adapter & test the track . Have a great wkend. 👍

Think it's sold rather well.
Carrera can also add the silver car from Paul Ricard and the Yellow car from Le Man's tests, love mine.

Excellent coverage ! Perfectly stated.
