  • Hello, True Crime Stories family. What happened to Alex Murdaugh's son Paul Murdaugh was sad. His own father fatally shot him. Paul's friends described him as the black sheep of his family because he didn't want to continue Murdaugh's legacy and become a lawyer.
    Alex Murdaugh's son Paul didn't have the love he needed when he grew up because their housekeeper raised him. He felt like he was never enough and didn't fit in, but their housekeeper made him feel accepted.
    Paul got into a lot of trouble, and his father felt like he was always cleaning up Paul's crimes.
    Alex Murdaugh resented Paul for these reasons; this could have led to a perfect storm.

    This is so sad. I'm a 66 year old mother of 2 boys We never had a lot of money but a comfortable life but we had love and respect for one another. ...nor did Gloria or all the other victims. At least A.M. killed his own rotten offspring. Stephen Smith is a TRUE loss for his Mom & sister .... Whatever 'made' paw-paw to be 'a Timmy' (alcohol, arrogance ...just ask the hospital staff he taunted & insulted when he got into hospital) I not so very much care (murder is ALWAYS evil & bad) BUT: the other, innocent victims truly deserve justice. A.M. (the evil red-hed with the black-piercing-eyes) killed his rotten offspring & relieved Hampton, Beauford & the rest of the world from a problem A.M. himself could not fix.

      @@minomokwa744 I think the parents are responsible for how Paul turned out. If Paul was a 'rotten offspring' it's because neither Alex nor Maggie talked to him or punished him when he was young enough to still influence. Alex killed the problem child that he himself created. Someone should have helped Paul with his problems so that he wouldn't have been killed.

    Very good info...also Sandy Smith, Stephen Smith's mother, wrote a letter to the FBI asking for help in finding Stephen's murderer. In the letter she states that Paul Murdaugh had a conversion with a classmate and that classmate told school officials about what Paul told him, implicating Buster Murdaugh as Stephen's murderer. Nothing was done about it and Sandy states in her letter to the FBI after this happened Paul was transferred from that school to a private school after the alleged statement. If this is true, even then Paul was becoming a burden and liability to the family. Also lawyer Mark Tinsley gives a great interview on TH-cam about why Maggie was killed by Alex and that he plotted her murder for 6 months, she had become a liability also.

      Apparently, Maggie was very into the wealthy and privileged life style and appeared to be quite the enabler. She seemed to have servants raise her children. We really don't know a lot about her activities, except that she supported Alex in his finances, and was vocal about having one of the others on the boat say that they were driving to save her precious son. This whole disaster that were the Murdochs has really put a light on privilege in this country though its been apparent with criminal politicians. It's just less deniable here. And it's not over.

    • @timchilders3535
      @timchilders3535 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@petunialuna4801 Yes, I'd say you're pretty well on point there. I've done a lot of research on this family, and the entire batch of cases and incidents, beginning with the boat crash. The only one I'm not really too convinced about, is the Stephen Smith death. Buster's name, has been mentioned several times, but it's really never gone any further than loose talk. Maybe there's something to look at, but I don't know what the exhumation of his body can really show, they already pretty much decided his injuries were not really indicative of being hit by a car on the highway. So, the only other real possibility, would be he was placed there, after he was killed. Or, he was killed in the middle of the road. Based on the injuries he was reported to have suffered, it just really didn't look like he was hit by any vehicle. I do not believe Gloria Satterfield was murdered either. Nothing about that theory makes any sense. Neither does the family's attorney Eric Bland, either. Alex absolutely schemed and swindled the family out of millions of dollars, but it's highly doubtful she was murdered. They're exhuming her as well, so we're going to be hearing about those findings soon. Her son Tony, has started he doesn't suspect murder either, but they just want a 100% definitive statement and conclusion about it, once and forever. Anyway, it's been a most interesting and dreadful saga, no doubt.

    The weekend before he killed them Alex was detoxing in a hotel room while Maggie and Paul were at a ball game. I do think that Alex resented Paul for the boat accident because he was about to be subjected to a hearing where it was very likely that his financial shenanigans would be revealed. On top of that, he spent the weekend detoxing, which is hell for an addict. I think this is why Maggie was included - it seems obvious that Paul and Maggie had confronted him about the pills and that is why he had to spend the weekend detoxing. I think the financial stuff combined with what was probably involuntary detox (they probably found his stash in the hotel room and dumped it, leaving him without his drugs) got him into the state of mind that allowed him to kill them.

    That's the pot calling the kettle black as for Paul , RUINING ThE FAMILY LEGACY. ALSO while Paul was loved deeply by Gloria ; in the final seconds of her life, Maggie. tried to run to her baby Paul. Morgan obviously knew Paul and the family well but she too was only 16 and was told much of this through the filters of teens against the world. A lot of people in life bond through complaints, sympathies, anger ;unhealthy bonding. Paul was encouraged to drink including partners children too ; apparently all the kids were . It's a good way to manipulate kids. Did the other lawyers not know this ? The other parents ? A disaster waiting to happen. The most common grooming method; used to groom kids, is giving them what they want utilizing attention ,gifts, substance abuse and porn are the main catalysts to set a person up. That's sickening and there's even video of a teen girl pouring alcohol into Alecs' mouth. He is shirtless and wearing a swim suit or shorts leaning back. I don't believe that Maggie did not love Paul. Maggie was shy by all accounts. This is so sad and just so horrible an outcome. No one should stay with anyone who strangles them and is violent. No one should give kids substances and there's a surge of people who do. There are reasons for laws governing age limits . Reasons for laws against violence and property destruction. Karen Morente.

      The parents made it possible and available for that boy to drink as a young teen. The parents allowed the children to become what they were. You can't blame the children in this case. I think and I could be wrong , if he loved anybody it was that housekeeper.

    I don't think he killed him out of resentment. He wanted the boat case to go away which it did. It was too late though because all of the hidden fraud he committed was already starting to unravel. The murders just bought him sympathy & a little bit of time.

Now, we are to feel sorry for them? I feel sorry for the victims who died at their hands! And all the poor & disabled people Alex robbed, so he and his family can continue to live the good life!!

      @@minomokwa744 Consider this: To me, (and Eric Bland) it's super doubtful, that any of them actually intentionally murdered Gloria. She was still alive, and semi conscious, semi vocal, when she was taken to the hospital. She lived for approximately three weeks. If, one were trying to murder her, why would they leave her alive, to very likely tell what happened later in the hospital? It doesn't make sense. They would have definitely made sure she was dead, and never took such a chance. Her death, I feel like was an accidental one, but there's no doubt Alex schemed and swindled the family out of millions, after the fact.

      It appears to me that Buster is doing what is good for Buster. He is about to come into a lot of money with the help of his dad. I saw no emotional reaction from him during the trial with pictures and demos of the slaughter of his mother and brother. Also, he stated that he didnt want protection after the murders because he didn't "want to be followed around". There was never concern from local law enforcement or anyone about safety of the family or anyone. That's remarkable if you think about it. No precautions, no searching for the killers, nothing.

    To be real tho
    Paul went out pretty quickly just about as quick as it comes. It isn't the totally instantaneous end some people claim but it definitely does a lot to diminish the suffering the quicker it is. Let's address also that he was a completely unimposing muscle atrophied jaundiced body having dude the amount of booty plundering he would be subjected to in prison safe to say it would be a whole lot. It the strangest inadvertent anything but normal way the events that transpired Paul was given the least agonizing end that would be possible for him. A hunting accident, reckless stunt with recreational motor vehicle, violent altercation with another intoxicated hot head, or the eventualities resulting from alcoholism all more likelihood of significant suffering compared to the outcome he did get he probably didn't ID his father as his assailant before losing consciousness. Maggie however probably had that primal fear as she was well aware she was being hunted by a perc popping Alex willing to do anything to protect his true love opioids.
