I must have seen this episode dozens of times and only JUST noticed the Egg Council guy in the egg costume at the Stonecutters meeting. Amazing. This is why classic Simpsons towers above all other comedy, there are so many layers.

I thought, "Wow, how perceptive of her. The show is set in the 'real world' and she is going to ask why there is an alien at the table, when there have never been any aliens in the show"! But instead she said "Why are there no women at the table?", and to me that says an awful lot about how incredibly perceptive she was (and is)!
There's a song by The Fugs called 'CIA Man' which I feel may have been an influence on this song - considering Groening loves his out-there psychedelic music

Funny. Steve Guttenberg released three movies in 1995. Two of them were big deal kids' movies. That was after a five year gap in projects. It makes you wonder. Did The Simpsons know about his movies coming out that year, ahead of time? Or did they actually make him a star? He seems like such a random choice.
