Guys, I’m not stepping down or quitting or anything like that. I’m just taking a little break and regrouping lol. Just throwing that out there before you’ve written your paragraphs. I HAVE NOT QUIT
Mick you are NOT "failing"...YOU ARE WINNING IN LIFE. You own property & have built a home. These are the highest payouts in life. Stay strong!! Be in the moment and enjoy those moments. Take care from cold Florida (it's 59 degrees at night and we are freezing below 70 degress LOL) take care ⛄❄🎿 Alaska looks like a great place to snow shoe with your friends. ps look into a propane tank & heater for your cabin. a large propane tank not the little tanks. check about have the wood store & propane tank outside.
Market your art! I would totally buy it! It seems that it brings you comfort. That’s the perfect energy to put out in the world. For now, if ok, I’m sending you loving healing energy of restoration and peace through the quantum space. ❤ I have just spent two years recharging a very dead battery called my life. I get it. Your own oxygen mask first! 😊 ❤
I wish people would listen to what you say... Where on earth have they conjured up that you are leaving from!! Incredible... Merry Christmas Mick and I know my suggestions on my other post are lengthy lol..but please take us with you on your drive home for Christmas 🙏.
Then stop swearing too. Jesus is there to listen and help in your time of need. You are a great artist and if you made stickers of your sea fish and creatures I would buy some 🙌🏻🧡🕊✨ my van has an ocean vibe.
I think getting a dog would help a lot for the mental toil. Not only would it give you something to talk to, but also a companion in your struggle. When you struggle alone, it always feels more.
Not to mention, there are plenty of shelter dogs who would love a life living out on the edge of the wilds with a young man to share life with. It's a very happy life for a dog, they don't need much if they have companionship and stimulation.
Life isn’t pass/fail, Mick. It’s a series of learning and growing experiences. If you’re up there learning, growing, pivoting-you’re winning. The vast majority of us are out here cheering you on. Ignore the rest. You’re DOING things. That’s more than many people can say. God bless you. I hope you get a good rest, have time to reflect, and come back energized for whatever you feel called to tackle. We’ll wait and trust you to know yourself.
Mick, there is nothing wrong with taking a break, and time with your family is a great idea as you can always get back to work on your cabin when the weather gets better. Take care.
I've noticed when some of my favorite TH-camrs ask what we want to see, the creative life that drives their content is dimming. We are here because you posted and drew us to you. It's not about what we want to see, but more about what you want to share.
Mick, I am your neighbor. I live at the north end of the road in front of your house. I am an old fart (74) next month but built my place entirely by myself. I am here yo offer you what help I can. I do know about freezing your butt off. 40. + Yrs ago I built a trapline in western AK. Total solitude. Let me know if you would like to talk.
Youth is impatient, youth is arrogant, youth thinks it knows more than it does. Growing is painful at times. Well, most of the time and we never stop. You probably thought this would be hard but hard changes definitions when you are in the thick of things. Just keep your eye on the road you wish to travel and keep moving forward, you'll work it out and learn something new in the process. You'll get there. Good luck on the journey.
MaineUSA- that is not very kind of you. What have/had you accomplished or were brave enough to try at the age of 18? He is a brave young man and he is learning. God bless him in his efforts.
@@sharonbrown111his comment was true and not meant to be negative. We were all this age and thought being an adult was so easy. Notice how his comment also included to keep moving forward.
Mick - I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve switched gears and careers in my 58 years. It’s not failure to make changes; rather, all part of the journey we call life. Take a deep breath, ignore the naysayers and enjoy the holidays with your family.
Heyyyyyyy!!!!!! What a great video, no seriously!! You're human! You're allowed to change your mind! You're young! Now is the time to experiment and try new things and make mistakes. Mistakes are good! I'm *extremely* proud of you, the amazing things that you've already accomplished as well as your ability to know when to stop. What a sweet little cabin, I'm sure you're going to have a fantastic winter there! Thank you so much for all of the beautiful content you've already given us and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
Such a good idea to rent a cabin for the winter. Give you time in a warm place to see what comes next. Vlog style content is always fun to watch. Btw the painting are beautiful
I’d love to see more…exploration. Just you talking about what you see, hear, and do up in Alaska. Nature and weather observations. Small parts of the day that suck, or shine
Mick, you just keep making videos on your life's journey. You're experiencing life, living, and learning. I am 29, lost my parents at a young age, and strive every year to live a life I want to live. I am not there yet, but I will be one day. I watch these videos, listen to your experiences, and live through you for the short few minutes the videos last. Do what you have to do, we are all along for the ride!! Cheers from Iowa!
@calebverdugh So sorry for your loss at a young age. As older people when we were blessed with children, passing on, before our children were adults was our nightmare. My husband passed late last year suddenly and even at at over 30 and not quite 30, I really feel sad for our young adults, not having their father, to visit and talk to. Their father was the more grounded, wise parent. Again sorry for your loss.
A sidenote to everything… those paintings you’re making are amazing you have so much talent that will never leave!!! A break is good regenerate!!! Thanks for all you do ❤
I taught middle/high school for 17 years & I’ve seen so many kids work themselves into a breakdown because they think that stopping to rest is somehow subhuman. Knowing when to step back is key for mental health. Every so often I would take a mental health day and seriously just do nothing so that I could reflect on things, reboot my brain, and escape from the rigors of life for a time. Everything you’ve done thus far is such an accomplishment! Kudos to you! Enjoy your break! 😊
Your watercolor paintings are quite good! Savor this opportunity of quietness in the cabin. Your film editing, reflection and commentary is well done and the scenery is beautiful. The fact that you’re living your dreams and plans and not someone else’s is a lot more than a lot of us can say.
I’m 63 and still searching for peace and bliss, I’ve resigned myself to the fact it will only come with my last breath. This is not said as a dark thought, I’ve used my restlessness to drive me like a pinball bouncing off one endeavor to the next. One thing I’ve noticed after buying my last very comfortable home and living in it all alone was that I was miserable. A stray cat came into my life and it has made things around here 100% better. Good luck and God bless your future.
I can relate. I'm a otr trucker, 56, and it gets lonely out here but it is 100 times better than being cooped up in a house alone. At least I can stop at a truck stop and joke with people on occasion, or go watch whatever game is on in the truckers lounge. I always think retirement would be hell. Sitting in that house or apartment day after day would make me crazy.🥴
Everybody needs a break sometimes and that doesn't mean failure! You're learning so much about yourself and seem wise and humble enough to admit you need to reboot. Love the artwork!!
Beautiful artwork Mick. This time last year I stopped doing anything on my A frame build. Between the freezing cold and loss of inspiration. But I came back to it 2 months later. Reinvigorated. Life is not a race to the finish line😊 it’s a journey of joy and disappointments.
You are building your character one experience at a time. You are miles ahead of so many people who haven't left the comfort of their home. You are going to astound yourself!
Amen ! You astound US !! You have "grit"...step back for a minute and look at your life with a grandfather's eye . You thoughtfully packed up your can , drove to ALASKA , to YOUR LAND , cleared and tidied up that land , enlisted the team of good friends to BUILD YOUR CABIN , had the knowledge to work on finishing it...have the tech skills to create and maintain this channel and the wisdom to take a break to sort things out , regroup and make " course corrections " as necessary ! THAT'S A LOT FOR SIX MONTHS !!!!! We follow you because you are doing what many of us wish we could do and...because you are like family and we are shamelessly proud of you and your efforts !!! Well done , Mick !!!
You've confessed a lot of your shortcomings in this piece. You understand the things you want to do differently in the future. That, young man, is the start of a life long process...one that doesn't stop even when you're an old man. Work, and especially the work that's most difficult, teaches us what we're good at and what we suck at. Play your strengths when you can, train your weaknesses as opportunity allows, enjoy every success, ready yourself for your next beating, and always grow. My kindest regards, Ken
EXACTLY THIS! And if it means not following in the footsteps of your parents and being a youtube vlogger, then so be it. Even if you need to put the camera down indefinitely or infinitely...to thine own self be true, lest, how can you truly be true to others? You'll figure it out, Mick. Not all at once, but all the long the journey of toiling...for everything, not just your food. Happiness, contentment, confidence, comfort, introspection, faith. Good luck, blessings and Merry Christmas, kid!
Hey Mick! More content of your artwork, please! Love to see what else you are doing. Doesn't always have to be about the cabin. Your mental well being is more important than content. Slow down, enjoy the holidays, and come back with some new ideas for content. You got this!.
My reason for subscribing to your channel (I follow both your parents) is that you are sharing your path with us. Life is full of ups and downs, choices, victories and disappointments. Thank you for your honesty and content. Wishing you a wonderful time with your family this holiday season. You’ve got this Mick!!
Mick, I’m so glad you found an affordable place to go to get a refresher. We all need a break sometimes, and all you have done over the past year is incredible! I also taught watercolors for years, and I’m so impressed with your fish! Keep using those creative skills, it’s a good outlet from all of the physical work you’ve done. Go have a great time with your family and maybe get a cat? You seem to love them and they learn to travel and are good companions. We’ll all be here when you get back. Enjoy your precious family and have a Merry Christmas!!❤
Don’t worry about the comments about you not making it through the winter. It’s your life, you have to live in it and be happy. if that means taking a break from this one thing for a bit to return with renewed energy so be it! I would be love to see vlog content. I already really enjoy your content and watch every video I see you post!
DUDE!! Never apologize for needing to stay warm! Your cabin is really going to take time and money to get some NEEDED NECESSITIES, like a gas stove, reliable heat, etc! Stop beating yourself up. We aren’t 🥰 We want to see you enjoying yourself! Do whatever you want and makes you happy! I actually like everything you do, including the poem you recited. It was one of my favorite blogs 💜 love ya dude !!
This is entirely what the 'lesson' has been - knowing when to step back and regroup. Finding what makes you happy and staying true to yourself. Not 'toughing it out' in misery just to prove you can.... (not a good idea - too much can go south and you are too alone). Looking forward to where your creativity takes you! You have a very artistic eye - I recall the figures you used to make for 'Girl in the Woods' - maybe explore that again? I see notepaper, cards or prints as possible saleable items from your 'fish' paintings.....
You, are the channel. We watch for what you are doing and thinking and creating regardless of what it is. You are also teaching all of us and thank you for that. Your honesty and vulnerability is refreshing and touches our hearts. Enjoy your time off (whatever 'off' means lol) and I know you have a lot of support out here. Take care and happy holidays!
Mick! You are kicking ass! Kudos for choosing comfort and warmth during the cold months. This time of year is for rest and introspection! Way to go listening to your needs! The first winter in an off grid cabin is so rough. Especially when you are alone. Last winter was my first on my property. I’m off grid, in a dry cabin at 6K feet w gnarly winters and I live here by myself. All last winter I fantasized about being somewhere warm, being submerged in a hot bath, being somewhere more comfortable in general. It was a rough winter but I made it through. This year I’ve got a claw foot tub that I make fires under! I’ve got more water stored up and plenty of wood for the stove and the hillbilly hot tub. My point is it gets more comfortable every year. Slowly you will make your little homestead into everything you want and need it to be. I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know but I can relate! You’ve got this. I applaud your choice to hunker down and regroup. It’s time to hibernate.
Mick take your own advice stop toiling, look around you enjoy the scenery, do your chores during the light cycle then relax with whatever hobbies you enjoy. I enjoy watching you learn as you go with your building projects your day to day life.
I'd LOVE to see literally just a nice slow indoor hour-long painting video. Real time, no judgement, no talking. Just the sounds of your breathing/moving, brush on paper, maybe some free music in the background... simple and enjoyable. Plus you get an hour-long engagement video that I'll watch like six times in a row because that's relaxing to me.
Mick, ask yourself, how many other people would be alright spending 24/7 in your build cabin? Your rented one is perfect and don’t worry about us, we’ll all be here when you are.
Got hit with a little insomnia, watched all of the cabin updates and you entertained me when I couldn’t sleep. Appreciate the vids bud. Hope you’re doing good and happy holidays
Life is a journey, not a destination. I watch because you are sharing your life and your journey. Sometimes we take vacations. Enjoy time with family and maybe post on what is happening while you are home, too.
One of the best things about your channel is watching you grow and learn about life. It is wise to pause and re-group. BTW, I made a jig to hold boards in place when I installed a T&G ceiling a couple of years back. Worked great. I'll see if I still have it and send pics if I do.
Dear Mick, I am so pleased that you are wise enough to know when it is time for a mental and physical break from the drudgery you were experiencing. You are right, off-grid from scratch is HARD, and I commend you for what you did accomplish these past 6 months. So what if you 'wasted' your summer. You really did not. You did what you wanted to do, and now, you are doing it again. That is important. Time will give you persepctive and you will definitely figure things out. You are young and should be enjoying yourself more than not. Vlogs would be awesome. I'd sure tune in just for the day to day. We are here to cheer you on, and it is up to you how you go about what you feel like doing. It's your journey and no one elses, so no apologies necessary for taking the break from editing. Love your artwork. How relaxing to watch you. Take care and have a wonderful Christmas. See you on the upside!
Dude, this was so much more inspirational than any heroic story out there. It reminded me that other people also have doubts, setbacks, hard turns and there's nothing necessarily wrong with me. ALSO your paintings are BANGING! That came out of nowhere, I saw watercolor paint and was like "like oh nice for him, he entertains himself by drawing" and the next frame you hit me with a freakin Mona Lisa XD
You’re gifted at storytelling in the way you speak and share your experiences, thoughts and feelings. I’d love to hear more poems. Your voice is soothing. Love your art too, so colorful and beautiful!
Mick, take the time you need, we understand... I am impressed at the accomplishments you have made since you moved to Alaska. You got this, happy holidays.
You should feel proud of what you accomplished. We are here for your journey and your story, whatever that ends up being. Your honesty and transparency with your viewers is so refreshing and shows a side of content creation, and specifically camping/off grid content that we often don't get to see. Wishing you best!
Life is all about switching gears...love to see you camping with your pals, your family, showing us favorite sites. Like your Dad, you have a voice for narration, for guidance, motivation. Like your Mom, you have the gift of positivity! Good luck!
Take a break man. You have most definitely earned it. You’ve done good and you will continue to do good. You got this. We all got to take breathers every now and then. Don’t forget what living slow and off grid is about
Looks like you found a great place to spend the winter! Enjoy it! Maybe take a break and work on your cabin when motivation strikes. Nothing wrong with that! In the meantime, don’t be so hard on yourself. You have already accomplished so much! Be proud of that and just live.
You 're doing nothing wrong, This is evolving as it should, we are learning with you as well. Making observations, correcting course, strategizing, reassessing, all part of the process. This channel is about what YOU want to do. Keep it up, your decisions are disappointing no one.
It will be ok, nothing wrong with taking a break, enjoy your time time with your family. It appears you are a pretty good artist, maybe think about adding art to your TH-cam channel.
Oh my gosh, I love your fish paintings! Everyone needs time to recharge. I am glad you are able to do that at your friends’s parents cabin for a reasonable rate. What a great place for you unwind and take care of yourself! I bet it is nice to have a bed, and heat at the turn of a dial.
loved this video - it's refreshing to see the honesty to admit to the struggle of being unsure. It is especially difficult when you are young. go forth on your own path whatever that may be and we will be watching
Mick you need to rest also. LOVE watching your videos whenever you can put them out. I aporeciate you taking us on your journey in the beautiful land your in. Stay safe and Merry Christmas.
Dude, any time i get a notification I jump on your video. You have a great voice, easy to listen to. Basically anything you want to talk about would be good. Just what is going on in your life, your interests etc. You've shown us that you are strong, determined and a hard worker. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Its refreshing to hear your introspection Mick....truly, you are an intense young (but old soul) human being who is creating quite well! You are an artist!!! Enjoy the family! Be happy!
Mick, You have done good. Off grid is not easy for anyone. Taking a step back to get yourself centered and grounded is a good and a mature thing to do. You realized that you needed break to recharge and be creative. I'm 62 and have a large chunk of land. It's not off grid but there is always something around the homestead that needs fixing. This week I have to rebuild my back porch steps because the 2nd step from the top has deteriorated and I will break an ankle if I don't replace the whole set. You got this!
I just subscribed. Love listening to your voice and narrating. You would be wonderful doing voice overs. And narrating documentaries, movies, and tv shows. Just listening to you I thought you were much older. Keep up the hard work you are doing and think about other means of making a living.
Mick you have done well 👏 👍 I really love this channel, it's real, showing the struggle you went thru. I glad you are staying getting some rest, refocus. Enjoy your holidays. And congrats meeting your 100,000 subscription 👏 🎉😊😊😊
Mate, honestly I’m just here for the ride, you’re the one brave enough to give it a go. And you’re doing great! Keep showing us reality. So much easier to watch and support than unreality.
In the age of projecting ones "perfect life" on social media your authenticity is refreshing. You are humble and brave and I admire your willingness to face facts and make necessary changes. Like others have said I look forward to your vids and just honestly like watching from afar and cheering you on. I would buy your art work!
As an older person, my advice to you is to follow your heart. Whatever you do, if you're not passionate about it, move on to the next thing. Once you got started on your cabin, it seemed your heart wasn't into it so much. Without knowing you I feel like I sensed it from you from the beginning. Follow your heart and your gut. You'll figure it all out. As for the type of content that I think I'd most like to see from you at this point, it would be you talking about things that conjure 'feelings'. I like vlogs that are thought provoking and affect my heart and feelings. Any type of discussion that evokes feelings in me where my soul feels touched, is appreciated. You're a deep person and I think you'd be good at that type of discussion while out in nature. I do love nature. Good luck to you, Mick.
This is a good lesson about making big and prophetic declarations about the way life should be lived. Because when you try anything for yourself, you realize nothing in life is as clear as you thought. Even when you are gifted a successful TH-cam channel and now $200 rent.
Mick, you are doing great! A lot of people in their 30s and beyond have not accomplished what you have in less than a year. As many have said, include us in your journey with videos of whatever you’re doing. We are truly interested and we (most of us anyway) are pulling for you! As a mother I’m very happy to see you in a safe warm place!
You chose a challenging road to travel. I'm glad that you are able to take a break, regroup, redefine goals and take care of yourself. Enjoy the time with your family. See you later👋👋👋
This comment will inevitably be drowned out by all the 60+ year-olds in your comment section telling you how amazing you are and how they wish they had done something similar when they were young but I would like to say this just in case you see it. From the very beginning of your channel you kept focusing on the few critical comments you got and had a very cynical bitter attitude about them. I have only seen one or two comments so far that were actually unwarranted, the rest contained legitimate criticism from people who tried to help you. Typing anything in your comment section feels like talking to a brick wall. You ask people to give you money through donations (when the better solution would have been to man up and ask your parents for a loan which you could pay back in increments) but when the same people are telling you that there are very simple solutions to your problems they get ignored. And now your cabin sucks and you spend 200 dollars of that money to live in someone else's cabin. I'm not calling you a failure, I simply don't understand your logic. Furthermore, I am really concerned with your diet. I saw another comment pointing it out and I have to agree that your constant fatigue is concerning for someone your age. The daily tasks you described are about 10% of other people's day and if that alone has you exhausted I fear there might be something up with you. Protein is not an optional addition to your diet, it has to be a constisten daily part of it! I do want to cut you some slack because of your age and I don't think everything you did was terrible! I also really like your drawings! I hope you can take this time to relax and plan out your next moves in detail, so that you can have a solid foundation next winter. I know you've said previously that you are not very interested in growing things (which is weird because that's literally one of the pillars of living off-grid) but maybe just planting a few easy veggies in the spring could get you closer to being more self-sufficient and getting in more nutrients.
This was such a well-articulated comment! Everything you said was spot on! More preparation is needed and more effort needs to be put in. And what's up with all the cup of noodles? The diet definitely needs a change. I also agree that the art is very nice :D Furthermore, it's quite odd how Mick was supposedly living from TH-cam paycheck to TH-cam paycheck yet he is all of a sudden able to afford renting a cabin for 6 months without producing videos (his only source of income). $200 is cheap but it doesn't seem like he has $1200 stashed away. Not to mention he must get food and other necessities.
Hey Buddy, enjoy your break!! You really have accomplished a lot so far!! Have fun with your family and have a Happy Christmas!! Look forward to hearing how everything is going!! Winter hikes, your beautiful art, story telling!! Lots to share!! Stay warm and happy!! Much love from NC❤
Small steps, one day at a time, and breathe. Been living in my jeep since April 2022(I’m 65 & in NJ). I understand that cold & it’s much more tolerable than 95F. Gotten really good at scraping ice off the inside windshield😂. Life’s a journey my dear one & I know you will be just fine. Stay awesome Mick!❤️
Mick, you are wise beyond your years. You see, many of us have spent our years diving head first into work and losing precious time enjoying life, family and friends. You are an amazing artist! Let the squirrels rest. Love and blessing sent from Florida. Merry Christmas.
Thank you for bringing the kitty in the house. They are beautiful! I'm sure you miss your kitty. Great artwork wow! Don't be too hard on yourself, you take it at whatever pace you choose. Enjoy life!
Mick I hope you don't give up on your cabin project, I would hate to see all that effort go to waste. I am glad you now have a warm, safe place to hole up for the winter, I actually started worrying about how you'd make it through the cold. You have the rest of your life to finish that cabin, and it doesn't all have to be done in one season. You certainly did not fail, you kept 106 thousand of us watching and waiting for your next video, that is tough to do in this age of instant technological gratification. Looking forward to watching as you continue your journey, what ever it may be.
You’re doing a really great job, it is a joy to listen to you share your thoughts and experience with us. Take the moments you need to recharge as you need to.
Thank you, Mick. Just last night, I meditated on your previous, "toil for your" motto and thought you'd lost your way. Hustle culture isn't what allows for creativity and passion to flourish. Was OVERJOYED to wake up to your new declaration of freedom towards thought, movement, and happiness. ❤
I'm relieved to see you're taking a break from off-grid life. There's no shame in that - you will have a better perspective on things by the spring and know what direction you want to take. Have a lovely winter!! I love your fish paintings btw! 🙏❤
Love the artwork! Sorry you are feeling 'down' and seems frustrated. It undoubtedly is hard to be in the public eye. My guess is that people that follow your channel will enjoy anything you wish to share. We ALSO will understand if you feel that you need a break. You are the one that has to live your life. Just take some time and try to figure out what your goal is for your life then take baby steps in that direction. You most likely are not going to 'get there' overnight! That's why it is called LIFE. It takes a lifetime to grow and figure it out! Hang in there buddy. Hugs from Texas.
Hi Connie from cold Pennsylvania. Hang in there. You need a visit from mom and dad. AND I didn't know what a talented artist you are!! (a gift from your mom). Paint and sell!!!! or write! you are a great story teller!!
If you're having a hard time with you're filming schedule and deadlines I'd say aim to put a video out every 2/3 weeks. Gives you enough time to get a goal achieved and filmed with very limited daylight hours. Maybe further down the line you can grab some lighting but I wouldn't worry overly about it currently. You're doing a damn fine job and I'm extremely envious. Put your feet up over christmas, take it easy and come the new year smash it like you already have been! Mick, you've done an amazing achievement and you should be proud of yourself.
Thanks for this video! You are so young and have done so much. You are learning and many of us couldn’t have done what you have. Now is the time to be with your family and enjoy each other. Take care. Would love to see you continue on and BTW your art is terrific!
Take all the time you need and no matter how often or how short your videos are or will be later,we will still be here waiting when you are ready to get back to it. Enjoy this time to your self to reflex and relax. I love your art work. What better way to relax. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family…
Mick you are an intelligent young man and you have made a wise choice. Your cabin will be there in the future but your happiness is more important. I have enjoyed watching your channel mistakes and all. You have made a lot of good choices too and your content is real. It's so refreshing to see a young person who thinks outside the box. I look forward to seeing your future content.
We're with you, bud! Everyone needs to reset...even your mom! I enjoy whatever you post and wish you the best! I think your art is pretty wonderful! Happy holidays!
Hi Mick. You've done amazing things and much of it you've done alone. Last winter you lived in a modern home with all that entails, including reliable heat. As humans, we need that. Your cabin isn't there yet and that's okay. It's important to take breaks and ask for help. Create content you enjoy and others will enjoy it. You have a great voice and video presence. You will find your way as you keep moving forward. I love your fish paintings! Show us the things you enjoy about life, be honest about what you don't. Your perfect audience will find you. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family!
I enjoy coming along on your adventure’s. You are right to seek the things in life that bring you joy and to step away from the things that bring you unhappiness. My husband is a watercolor artist too. He has decided, after 35 years, to focus on the subjects he loves to paint, and to pursue those venues that promote the things he loves to paint, namely Great Lakes shipping and Lighthouses. You will know when you find your path. Just keep searching and never compromise. Enjoy the holidays with your family!
Mick thank you for taking us on your journey. I am so glad to see you taking a step back and knowing what you needed to do to make yourself happy at this point. Wow, the paintings are beautiful your very talented. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.❤ ❤❤
This is exactly the video I’ve wanted to see from you! As someone that’s considering building a cabin in AK, I really wanted to know how long it would take before the off grid inconveniences get frustrating. Glad you’re staying with it 👍
Mick, you seem like a genuine and lovely human being. Wherever it is you are going in your creative journey, others will follow. Your artwork is absolutely beautiful and my fingers are crossed that your journey includes more of it. ❤
You're switching gears. No harm in that, no shame in that. You're learning, and learning means trying one thing until it becomes clear you need to try another. Wishing you all the best and encouraging you not to give up but keep trying. You have many wise counsels in your life, most notably your parents. You'll make it; just keep listening and being willing to try again. Merry Christmas!
You do you💜. You have a beautiful voice .... You are an articulate speaker, a pleasure to listen to you..... The only thing you can count on is change 😽
Mick, Im glad you know to take a step back and regroup.just create things that you enjoy, will love coming along with you on your journey..hope you enjoy holidays with the people you love and that they love you back..
So glad you are taking a step back to rest and regroup. It’s frustrating for sure. We are rooting for you! Your mom has moments of frustration too. Check out her video where she forgot to untie the rope on her adorable A Frame and couldn’t get the wall down. 😂 I just love your family. I love your mom’s cute decor and I love her little black and red cottage. Love how she always shows her food and coffee and keeping the site tidy and cozy. It’s amazing how she can make rustic sweet and cozy out of nothing! Like how!?! Love your Dad’s channel for more technical knowledge and I learn stuff to tell my husband. He doesn’t show his good as much, alas. And I love your channel because it’s an adventure and you keep it as tidy as you can. Loved the moss on either side of the trail made. Can’t wait to see what you are going to do with the art you just made! Living on your own at your age is tough and building your own home is so amazing! Only you can decide what kind of content and how you will frame it. I love vlogs and this is what I did today content. Happy Holidays!!!
Glad to see you allowing yourself to rest and reflect. Winter is a great time for that. It was a great idea to step away for a bit and give yourself some space to try othwr things. There are no rules to what you are doing, and nothing that says you can't take your time. I really enjoyed getting to see you paint. A whole other side to you.
Keep it up.. little by little . Slow and steady . You can do it. Love all the way from India .
I love and adore my dog, but pets do require, food, medical etc. a significant cost he’s probably not ready for.
Absolutely...sometimes we all have to step back in order to punt. People do it all the time in all different situations.
Just like all of your art- you're watercolor is amazing! Love to see a new medium. You'll be fine. Figuring life out is half the fun. See you soon!
Well said Mom!

First thing he needs to do is get a job, instead of relying on TH-cam for income imo.
Well said

Mick - I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve switched gears and careers in my 58 years. It’s not failure to make changes; rather, all part of the journey we call life. Take a deep breath, ignore the naysayers and enjoy the holidays with your family.
Realizing you need change is much better than toiling in complacency and being miserable all the while. Change is also growth.
Thank you for biting the bullet and getting somewhere safe, warm, dry. You can start fresh with a clear mind and renued energy.
Amen! Go get some hugs and go back when your heart is ready
Enjoy your time..merry Christmas and we'll see you later.
Sending you cyber-hugs Caleb. 🙏
Thanks for all you do ❤
I agree!
Find your niche, young man. And..
Merry Christmas!
Wise advice!!! Take this comment above seriously. You need at LEAST one day a week where you totally unplug. At least. Two days is optimum.
this is what they don't teach in school. it's real
When I feel like I need a reset, I take a healthy 20h power nap :D
Well stated
God bless you too sir/ma'am. May we find peace wherever we are. 😊
God Bless you. Loneliness is a horrible thing.
You’re like Ove

That was a wonderful response!

Hey Mick! More content of your artwork, please! Love to see what else you are doing. Doesn't always have to be about the cabin. Your mental well being is more important than content.
Slow down, enjoy the holidays, and come back with some new ideas for content. You got this!.
I agree. the artwork looks awesome.😊

Keep working on that cabin! Don’t forget it!
Mick thank you for taking the time to explaining why your taking a break.time to be with your family, have nice Christmas holiday and regain your self.
I'd buy some fish notes! 🤗
I was thinking that too. His art would be so marketable.
Mick, enjoy the holidays and relax. We appreciate your time and your resilience. Happy Holidays!
Mick has another channel " Mick Makes Stuff"
Mick, ask yourself, how many other people would be alright spending 24/7 in your build cabin? Your rented one is perfect and don’t worry about us, we’ll all be here when you are.
24/7 alone not healthy for your mind. Loneliness is horrific.
Well said!
I too want to see you home too. So many of us love your family
Excellent point!
I second that
Have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year with your family!!
I wondered if you were going to Michigan for Christmas! Rest easy! We can be thankful that we can rest and take a break.

Winters in Alaska will do this to a person.. but it will get easier. Follow your heart… Wherever it takes you.
You are exploring your way through life. There is a great freedom in doing that and being self sufficient. You are on the Right Track!
Thanks for the update! Do whatever makes you happy and definitely enjoy your family! Have a great Christmas!
Even when you are gifted a successful TH-cam channel and now $200 rent.
though I agree, I can't blame his parents for helping him out. If his heart may reveal itself to be elsewhere that will be his real challenge.

It's responsible to recognize when you need a break, will help in the longevity of the project, I can respect that.
I also agree that the art is very nice :D
Furthermore, it's quite odd how Mick was supposedly living from TH-cam paycheck to TH-cam paycheck yet he is all of a sudden able to afford renting a cabin for 6 months without producing videos (his only source of income). $200 is cheap but it doesn't seem like he has $1200 stashed away. Not to mention he must get food and other necessities.

Gotten really good at scraping ice off the inside windshield😂. Life’s a journey my dear one & I know you will be just fine. Stay awesome Mick!❤️

Your art work is awesome! We all need a break now and then. I'm sure you'll get it figured out. Take care!
Hi Connie from cold Pennsylvania. Hang in there. You need a visit from mom and dad. AND I didn't know what a talented artist you are!! (a gift from your mom). Paint and sell!!!! or write! you are a great story teller!!
Also shivering from Pennsylvania while watching 🥶 lol
I feel you brother I’ve found my self basically saying the same thing hope you enjoy the time away! Excited to see you come back
This is exactly the video I’ve wanted to see from you!
You are an amazing artist !!! I would like to see you relax and do some watercolors with us ! Wishing you the best in what ever you do !
I got chills when you said “stop toiling for a minute”, you struck a note and thanks for sharing.
I love your paintings! You are so gifted and talented. You have accomplished a ton this year! Congratulations!🎉
