Meet the Spartans, the movie kids bought tickets to just so they could sneak into Rambo. That's not a joke, btw, theaters reported this actually happening.
Honestly knowing how disturbing Rambo 4 is, I might actively choose Meet The Spartans over that, would rather see bad comedy than witness the horrors of the Burmese beheading people
it is so funny considering he hates Pokémon (or minimum is NOT a fan). So HE of ALL PEPLE making a reference to a pokémon outside of Gen I, but in particular Gen VIII , is impressive on its own
I'd rather watch all of Zach Snyder's Netflix exclusive content over the Movie Movies, meaning Army of the Dead (plus it's prequel film), both Rebel Moon films (the director's cuts specifically), and Twilight of the Gods are more interesting than anything by Seltzer and Friedberg
So, fun fact, that Tupac Shakur "Yo Mama" joke? They actually stole it from one of MostOffensiveVideo's Peanuts ghetto parodies, it's one of the "Yo Mama" jokes Peppermint Patty tells Charlie Brown over the phone. They basically stole a joke from a small group of content creators because they knew they wouldn't sue as they want to stay anonymous due to the immensely offensive humor in their parodies. That's how low Setzer and Friedberg are willing to go when writing their comedies.
Ah a man of culture! Speaking of which now I am going to watch the MLK special of ghetto peanuts (since it’s just a remake from the thanksgiving special).
Another Fun Fact: Former film critic turned screenwriter and author C. It almost seems evil. Its like they said "We are going to suck the entire time...except for this ONE LINE. That will create a brain worm that will cause the film to live forever!"
It’s from a ghetto peanuts special mostoffensivecartoon. They are all great. And read comments for the mlk special, they are better when teachers thought they were real and accidentally showed them to classes.

A Reference Fact: One of the specific references Captain (played by Kevin Sorbo) makes is that he'll "go Hercules on your ass" when he was fighting references his role as Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
When I heard you were gonna review a film starring Kevin Sorbo in it with a look of "this is gonna suck", I assumed it was God's Not Dead, especially when your buddy Cinema Snob covered that film years ago, yet somehow didn't cover the latest film the writers of that movie directed

My friend and I saw this movie at the movie theater. He turned to me and said we should have had some Brownies at my house before coming in here and watching this crap. I said "at lease this movie would be more entertaining."
6:23 to be fair... the idea of Spartans going to the battle of the 300 signing I will survive is pretty funny, not well executed but there's a hint of a good joke in there.
Fun fact: For it's theatrical release in Spain it was retitled as Casi 300 (Nearly 300). You know the movie is bad when even the Spanish translators are coming up with better jokes
This is gonna sound weird, but I actually learned all the lyrics to “I Will Survive” from this movie! It was just easier having a different person sing each line😅
It sucks that eventually we found out that Brittany Spears shaved her head because the hair extensions were too tight on her, I would rather have that than finding out something bad happened during a performance that left her scalped
Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie were actually released only SEVEN MONTHS apart, and considering how little of a plot the latter one has, I wouldn't be surprised if it started off as mere extra material for the former that Seltzerberg couldn't even use in the end credits, and to which they just spent those seven months adding new scenes like some kind of bizarre Snyder Cut.
Welp, since Thanksgiving is tomorrow, what better movie do we have to see when it involves Meeting the Parents with Spartans. Happy Turkey Day, btw, yall.
1 hour actually is considered too short -- somehow a weird number like 82 minutes became the minimum standard for movie length. This one runs 83. Them adding cut content at the end reminds me of the Simpsons joke where Homer repeated the same rant about Flanders to meet newspaper article word count minimums lol
The only reason me and my teenage friends laughed at it was because we were all stoned out of our minds and would have laughed at anything at that moment
First time I saw this movie was in 6th-Grade history class, a kid brought in to watch because the teacher didn't give a shit. It was a very ghetto school and this was what we considered art.
You should do The Comebacks next. That's a movie movie that for half of the film seems to forget it's a movie movie and become a regular 2000's comedy.

Really???? Wow!!!!
that would explain why this did well at the box office
Oh NO. He literally remembered this one so we don't have to.
Sooooo true.
It’s what Doug is good at😂😂😂😂
Its finally applying to our generation
MforMovesets? I didn't know you watched Nostalgia Critic...
9:25 seeing Doug mention a random Pokémon that most fans of the games don’t even look back at fondly is something I never expected

b; it was a perfect reference
it is so funny considering he hates Pokémon (or minimum is NOT a fan).
So HE of ALL PEPLE making a reference to a pokémon outside of Gen I, but in particular Gen VIII , is impressive on its own
I feel it would have been funnier if he fully committed & said “Eternamax Eternatus,” because that’s even _bigger._
Hating something isn’t the same as not knowing anything about it.
That hit me like when House prayed to Arceus.
Considering how passionate Zach Synder is about 300, I’ve always wondered his thoughts on this
I'd rather watch all of Zach Snyder's Netflix exclusive content over the Movie Movies, meaning Army of the Dead (plus it's prequel film), both Rebel Moon films (the director's cuts specifically), and Twilight of the Gods are more interesting than anything by Seltzer and Friedberg
At least he put some kind of effort into those movies, unlike Seltzer and Friedberg.
Even Zack Snyder puts more effort into these movies than literally anything Freiberg & Seltzer do let alone think of
@@MazeDaGr8Snyder’s issue has never been lack of effort, it’s just lack of talent
At least the film didn't seem to make fun of anything in 300. It just references the movie and that's it

They actually stole it from one of MostOffensiveVideo's Peanuts ghetto parodies, it's one of the "Yo Mama" jokes Peppermint Patty tells Charlie Brown over the phone.

9:25 Raises the question though. Can Eternatus poop? Look at it. If any Pokémon doesn't need to poop, it's that one.
The SNL sketch of Leonidas repealing the Spartan Don't Ask Don't Tell policy is still the only 300 parody that ever made me chuckle.
The way Critic described that Family Guy joke made me laugh because it’s absolutely something Modern Family Guy would do.
16:10 Technically a film only has to be 40 minutes to be a feature. This movie was over double that.

Paris Hilton? Who the fuk is still talking about Paris Hilton?!

The guy having a beard as a baby reminds way too much of Kratos in Mortal Kombat with the " babytality " ending
At least the penguin shitting scene is biologically accurate.
