MONO is a band from another dimension, what a wonderful symphony in this magnificent performance! Pure Energy Transcending Universes... Formidable and great band!
I'm blown away....!!! I have discovered this band just few weeks ago.... and Im going to see MONO for my very first time tomorrow in Prague! cannot wait!!
Ashes In The Snow like never before. Album version -> Goosebumps. Live version -> Goosebumps. I wish I could see MONO play live. Please come to Bangalore someday.
They came to Guwahati this year and unfortunately I missed them because I hadn't yet returned to the country. It sucks that they rarely tour outside Japan
I was checking out and interview earlier today with Marty Friedman and he mentioned this band. You know that feeling when you discover something and that stops you dead in your tracks and you think to yourself "where has this been all my life?" For me, that moment is now.
I had the same with Caspian. I love mono, I found out about them since I had to find out who inspired Caspian for a school assigment, but thanks to Caspian I figured out what kind of music I wanted to make.
i hope one day MONO Band will performing at malaysia....i really" hope i can see them for my first time....becouse in my life i just want to see this MONO Band...i hope i can see them.......i love you so much MONO....
On Mono concerts there is always more action on the stage than in the crowd. How can they just stand there with this awesome emotional music playing in front of them?
+Schlan from what I know, there's a cultural thing in the east, especially with Art Rock, to stay quiet while the band plays, as a show of respect, or along those lines
+Schlan a lot of people just enjoy doing nothing else but listening to the music... especially at post rock/ambient shows. It's a nice departure from shows where other genres are played, where often you are expected to participate, and you are somehow seen as a "poser" if you aren't more involved. Some of the gigs I've enjoyed the most have been ones where there was very little movement among the audience.
+Schlan In London. When Mono was standing on the stage, the crowd was literally silence as a library and you can hear shhh when someone was talking before the performance.
I saw them in Phoenix, AZ some years ago in a very small club. Nothing wrong with that, but there were two support bands before them who took AAAGES, and were painful to listen to and wait for them to finish.

Was Pelican one of them?
A lot of guys compare these guys to Sigur Ros, but I find Mono more emotional and dynamic.
Can't compare the two, they're both very different.
Mono are closer to bands like Mogwai.
