I'm facing retirement inside 5 years and this would be a great fit for me since I'm a mech engineer and used CAD/CAM/FEA back in the late '80's early '90's. The biggest barrier for me is the price of a legal license for AutoCAD, it's a no-go for me but something I REALLY want.
I know this comment is old but I'm 27 going back to trade school to finish my certification course for Technical drawing with Autocad. If you can get into registration and a semester of school under your belt, your professor should be able to give you a student code to redeem on auto desk to let you get a student trial version of Autocad. That's what I did back in 2018 when my dumbass wasn't taking college as seriously as I should have
A note about the comment above: The education license for AutoCAD will have watermarks in the drawings you produce. I assume most professional companies don't accept those. It's a great option for learning and upgrading your skills/knowledge, though.
@@mhawang8204I was not aware of this. I don't sail the seas outside of shows and movies so I had no idea what the recent student edition was like, thank you for informing me
I've been using CAD since '82, so I hear ya :-))) Forget that greedy CAD-monster!! Instead, try...ACTCAD !! Seriously, perfectly-capable of ALL .dwg planwork!! zillions of $$$$-less for full-ownership. your welcome!
I find rhinoceros 3d is the best program for me. I do a lot of vehicle parts and weapon design, along with eyewear like stylish sunglasses and what not, I’ve been doing this for fun on the side for about 15 years now using the same program, any advice how I could sell my skills?
I am an astronautical engineer. I had an interview and got a case study on catia. I partially finished it. Now I saw the light at myself and I am planning to work on some CAD software. I heard that fusion 360 is very user friendly and a little bit tried it. Now I am between working on CATIA and get a regular job on with it and working on fusion 360 and being a freelancer. I am confused.
