We love DH racing and we just want bring you guys sweet footage and the nice commissars assured me emailing this might help!
We are back for the Fort William National DH race after a big break due to the last one I went to getting canceled because of wind...haha bot that bad this time and all in all a great week in the fort....fired up for world champs!

Such a testament to the suspension setup. That camera was smooth as butter and it deffo wasn't just the stabilisation. Smooth riding BK 👏

Antiquated British Cycling rules requiring you to tape the cam to the handlebar has one upside: The tape blocks wind noise.
So, wrap the cam in tape from here on out 😅
Watching the handsome Mr. Lada is the next best thing to ride footage, thats for sure! 😊
Nothing wrong with the bar cam!! It’s actually a great perspective, especially thinking about all the-arm and body movement required! Love to see this angle again!

The Handlebar setup is sso stable and ( engaging ) love it.

Always good to get some quality Lada footage but loved the bar mount footage. Nice to see just how much you move the bike around .
The gopro pov on the bar was like a fighter jet pov and really smooth, props for suspension setup

Hi and many thanks for your email.
British Cycling are fully supportive and encourage the use of onboard cameras for training and race runs in MTB Downhill and have had a process in place that provides riders with permission to use an onboard camera in race. This is covered in the British Cycling Technical regulations under G2.3.2. on page 51.
However, this weekend’s event in Fort William was classified as a UCI C1 International event, which meant it was ran under the technical rules and regulations of the UCI, which supersede those of British Cycling.
The UCI regulations state:
4.1.042 Cameras are not permitted during final for cross-country and during qualifying rounds and final for downhill/four cross/cross-country eliminator.
The riders are responsible for securing the fixation of the cameras in order to avoid any danger.
The UCI can decide to allow a camera during final but only for the usage of the TV production company
We will continue to work with our commissions, athletes and all stakeholders to evolve the regulations and guidance surrounding the use of cameras.

Emailing a letter of complaint to British Cycling was weirdly satisfying in the same way that the bar cam was weirdly satisfying.
Things me and my dog enjoy equally:-
1) long walks in the country
2) flying down trails
3) When Lada man is in a BK vlog
Bar cam is sick. Be worth trying with the GoPro lens mod that keeps everything level. Makes the track angle look sick!

Please change the current restrictions on body and helmet mounted cameras during mountain bike racing to allow them in all circumstances! Why are you sticking with a rule that is proven to be pointless by other race bodies that allow them with zero problems? Does anybody there actually ride a mountain bike? Or are the decisions made by desk jockeys who don't watch TH-cam? The TH-cam vloggers bring the best exposure for your organization and you are preventing them from exposing the glory that is British mountain bike racing to the entire internet! Smarten up dudes!

I think helmet and chest cam make fort Bill look quite tame but watching the footage of the bar cam gave a whole new perspective on the size of the rocks and dips and drops of the track!

Always great to see Lada man in action, also considering the circumstances that bar-cam footage is kinda cool. Get to see the terrain better and how the bike is handling it rather than the rider.

after this the chest mount with the ultra stable shot feels like a drone flying the course
surprisingly good footage from the bar mount! Bar mounts a few years ago sucked, but I guess go pro stabilization got way better!

Already they are suckling the fun out of dh mean let's face it we all love the gopro footage of any rider and lada man. This has left a, salty taste with me

Riders should boycott the podium's at BC races or turn their backs when on the podium to make a very public statement about cameras.
It's the only way they'll listen.

The camera rule by British Cycling is soooo out of touch with the times. Hopefully one day they'll see the light but that would mean BC actually caring about something other than track/road...

Got them an email across because footage like yours (and random channels I come across) is the only way to watch UK MTB. There's literally no official stuff anywhere to be found for XC or DH, or even half the road stuff that's going on (a UCI cat 2 can't even get a highlights package here, where in the continent that'd have all day coverage)
How have you edited and uploaded this already??

Asked and answered. Here is my complaint sent to British Cycling:
Hi. Could you please allow riders to record their quali and race runs on their Go Pros.
British Nations round 2 at Fort William had the top riders in the world and we are all used to watching their World Cup race runs POV on their social media channels.
If UCI, Red Bull TV and Discovery allow it, what's your problem with it?
As it was the only footage of the race was from Scottish Cycling, who quite frankly are doing a better job than you are.

Find and try out some local races (usually anyone can enter)
To race the British Downhill Series you need to join British Cycling and get a race licence.
