Hello Subtractem, this build just saved my league. I have been playing for the past two days and having a blast. I was playing eviscerate version and switched to this version and been blasting poe ever since.
Sir you are a genius i was ahving a horrible time with my gladiator trying impale and block ... then i spent 1 entire day (yesterday) to recreate your gear by myself since i love crafting, it's not 100% done yet cuz i still wanna re craft my shield again, get a new amulet and a new axe again maybe...but holy cow...finally i can map and i'm blasting the t16 maps, thanks for your work as always :'d
I mispoke when recording the video as I forgot about Unwavering Stance. We don't need any stun/block recovery so I switched into the Arctic Armour + Soul of Arakaali setup in the PoB as well as using the "Always fortify" mastery for bossing comfort. Feel free to still use Blood and Sand + Brine King if you prefer but the PoB presents a more idealized setup.
Glad I ended up following this build. I don't have every item/passive skill yet, but I branched off of Ziz's league start Lacerate and got myself all of the skill gems and Jack the Axe. I was having issues with my wrists feeling sore, but now I can pretty much chill. Didn't think this would be what I value most out of a build, but thank you so much.
First time running a map on this build was extremely lucky. Blue altar gave 4.2% chance for extra divine drops and left with 13 divines. The build itself is so fun but I need some better rolls for bossing. For those iffy, just follow exactly what he says and how he crafts each gear and you'll be fine.
I have been enjoying sweep bleed glad (2H no shield/block yolo). Interesting to see how you are building. Thanks for your contributions to the poe community!
I have tried the lacerate/retaliation builds of other creators and this is by far the best variation, and it is not even close. the builds from others are just so expensive and feels bad to play. thanks for saving my gladiator!
I would highly recommend trying ward on this build - get helmet and gloves with ward. It should be pretty easy to get 700. With that amount of block you don't get hit very often, so it is already nice, and then you craft "(5-10)% chance to Restore your Ward on Hit" on your axe. It works very well with block.
I love PoE because if you master the mechanics of the game, you can craft a build that is capable of just standing in the middle of endgame content without worrying about dying.
on any builds i struggle with resistences... the solution is.... get a cluster jewel with small passives all elemental resists and increased effect of small passives works fine every time^^.
What setup would you recommend leveling for this? I got a bunch of money so imma make one last build for the league and would like to try bleed glad, since my current build ive farmed with has been Frost Blades slayer.

Hey subtractem, I think you interpreted aggravated wrong, it is counted as a separate instance from the normal bleed, so it effectively does bleed dps as if the target was moving as a bonus to the normal bleed + movement, at least that's how GGG expained it and it's on the wiki. So I think the node could boost your dps significantly.
@@subtractem Thank you, wasn't aware of the forum post and the wiki is indeed explained poorly, anyway thanks for the video, the addition of leap slam of grounding makes my build way more enjoyable
A lot of these lacerate gladiator builds ..well all of them show taking axe mastery %30 more damage in blood stance but you are not running blood and sand? How does this benefit?
Other people run it without the skill because a character is always considered to be in blood stance, even if you aren't running the blood and sand skill.
Very informative video guide. My biggest thing I'd like more of is attack speed! Slow attacks for me just aren't fun. Everyone is using Reaver axes for the damage so you don't see many Vaal Hatchets or faster bases. Any suggestions on how to get more attack speed?
Due to the way that bleed works you really just want a slow weapon that hits hard. Really nothing comes close to a Royal or Reaver axe for top end damage on a 1H weapon base. All you can do is really try to get attack speed on the suffix, that will be your biggest multiplier. I will likely try to craft another axe soon that has it because I want to be much faster as well!

please check out goratha's current week 1 bleed glad, he has had some really cool ideas to further bleed functionality in a few areas, i would like to know what you have to say about his approach (even though he is retaliate, it is not too different from lacerate honestly)
The main flaw of lacerate as a skill is the clear. Even with bleed pops, you'll be quite disappointed if you're used to skills like arc, lightning arrow, or even the new slams. In my opinion, having a 4-6 link shield charge/leap slam setup(like Sub's setup) results in comfier and faster clear. The tradeoff is weaker single target(putting lacerate on a 4 link for big boys and a 6 link travel skill) and higher socket pressure(if you 4-6 link your travel skill, that's about 2-4 sockets you're missing out on). So Sub's setup is more of an endgame swap when you know a single bleed deals enough damage to reliably kill any map mob you come across. Ziz's build guide can carry you through your voidstones, but in the endgame, you'll likely want more speed and clear, not dmg and survivability(both stats that a lacerate glad now excel in).
@@azure6051 At 2 voidstones, it's up to you. By this point, leap slam+bleed pops likely outright kills any blue pack or lower. A solo rare however can still take time to beat down. So for a typical harvest strat, swapping right now to Sub's setup makes sense. The rare harvest enemies will be weakened a lot by bleed explodes, and you'll only need to fight 2-3 of them per map.
@1:30 How does the Boots + Ring cause aggravated ?? You are Chilled while you are Bleeding Non-Chilled Enemies you inflict Bleeding on are Chilled Bleeding Enemies you Kill with Hits Shatter You and Enemies in your Presence count as moving while affected by Elemental Ailments There is nothing here that causes ailments to yourself? and also you & enemies don't count as moving, if your the one dealing the ailment. You would have to find a way to self-inflict an ailment to yourself? Can anyone confirm if the combo is glitched & works, or not? Other Thoughts, Maybe use Golden Rule Jewel?

please check out goratha's current week 1 bleed glad, he has had some really cool ideas to further bleed functionality in a few areas, i would like to know what you have to say about his approach (even though he is retaliate, it is not too different from lacerate honestly)
im playing a similar version of this build... i call it "The grasshopper" 😅
should i go for this or the one from ziz
@@MrKippers im currently at 2 voidstones and farming lifeforce for money. so i should stick with zizarans build for now?
@@azure6051 At 2 voidstones, it's up to you.
By this point, leap slam+bleed pops likely outright kills any blue pack or lower. A solo rare however can still take time to beat down.
So for a typical harvest strat, swapping right now to Sub's setup makes sense. The rare harvest enemies will be weakened a lot by bleed explodes, and you'll only need to fight 2-3 of them per map.
@@MrKippers ok ty for you help. only need to farm some currency to swap now xd
You need to double-corrupt that Lacerate of Haemorrhage gem :)
I am missing something? You said “if enemies resistant for physical dmg I explode them”. Where you mentioning that explode skill later on?
Bleed explodes are a core part of the gladiator ascendency.
When it says damage over time with hits from this weapon. I guess it doesnt stack with SST as you are hitting with your shield?
Correct, sst scales with the armor on the shield.
Leap was cool but shield charge felt better running around
i have arround 40 divine in my stash.... should i begin to build or not?
Do it!
@@subtractem haha verry close call sir... iclude weapon (7div) i got from arround 40 div now 147c in my stash xD But i got all nice!
Venopuncture Iron Ring how can I get that ring with Bleeding cannot inflict on you?
Kinga new to that game
has to be corrupted, usually with a Vaal Orb. there is a low chance for this to hit anti-bleed so in trade league it's usually easiest to buy it
@1:30 How does the Boots + Ring cause aggravated ??
You are Chilled while you are Bleeding
Non-Chilled Enemies you inflict Bleeding on are Chilled
Bleeding Enemies you Kill with Hits Shatter
You and Enemies in your Presence count as moving while affected by Elemental Ailments
There is nothing here that causes ailments to yourself? and also you & enemies don't count as moving, if your the one dealing the ailment.
You would have to find a way to self-inflict an ailment to yourself?
Can anyone confirm if the combo is glitched & works, or not?
Other Thoughts, Maybe use Golden Rule Jewel?
The Line is not "while you are affected by", so if the Enemy is affected by an Ailment, it is count as moving.
I slapped some retaliation in for more fortify and shit, farming feared sitting around 97m dps
Crafting that shield is a pain in da butt lol, 2 divine into it now and nada
My lacerate turned into lancing steel but im cool with it lol
How do you get 250% quant t17 ive only been able to get up to 225%
I would assume 8-mod corrupted.
6:12 i grabbed 1 mana leech thing somewhere... and its enough plus the -10 mana cost of non channeled abilities. Im literally never out of mana.
I'm having a rough time with mana sustain! Mind sharing more specifically what you snagged for mana leech?
Dude, you just saved my character. I started with Ziz's version which works great to a certain point, but I didn't know where to take it. Also lacerate to clear is awwwwful. Will 100% try this version!
At what point does it get awful? I’ve only just hit red maps but it feels great
Im having a time getting resists up jus ton ziz's build. I finally got that belt but can't use it lol
we have essentially the same build, but im still using a royal axe. i guess im going to blow all my currency and try to craft that axe. wish me luck.
Get it! Feels great when it hits.
Yeah if the build is done Right it does quite a bit of dps but clear is so bad. I'm just use to bow clear its ruined anything else for me Bow Rot brain I have. also my Lacerate was a starter and I just couldn't stick with it.
why my block chance is 68% (+33%) While yours 90%?
You need the lucky block node on gladiator "More Than Skill" so it rolls twice.
name of track at the end?
Cammy theme from street fighter 6
Cant play right now, game crash like hell. Nice build
Using directx12? Try swapping to others and see if you can get stability. If not to a full system and game reinstall. Had to do that last week to get stability.
@@zacharydavis1659 Ill try
