I think the question is why companies aren't testing their product well enough before commercialization ! It's amazing the lack of quality in these products. Testing is a critical part and Fundamental part of producing hardware and software...

Your video really highlights how bad touchscreens are on watches and that’s in ideal circumstances given that you’re not out in the rain or sweating profusely at the end of a workout. This is why I have a Garmin, 5 buttons, no touchscreen, works as intended all of the time. Oh and 46mm only, not much diversity in the OnePlus watch team is there then!

This is really entertaining. How relative all of these uses are. For a first time smartwatch buyer it seems fine. But to someone who's done a ton of stuff with a smartwatch it's lacking. I've been around the tech industry long enough to realize I want all these features but I actually only end up using a few. Battery life is what has held me back from buying a smartwatch... that's it. Guess what my opinion of the watch is. Hopefully they'll fix everything they can software wise. Other than that it seems like a great value. Unfortunately getting one seems impossible for the time being.

Just go to Garmin for any wearable watches. They have the largest lineup I've seen and all ranging from very low-end to the high-end flagship and everywhere inbetween; with their own app "store" for third-party apps (on supporting watches, which is most of them at this point), meaning it's not tied to a phone OS, just it's companion apps found on both Android and iOS. I would recommend Garmin wearables to anyone looking for fitness/smart/adventure watches. I personally just got their Instinct Solar (an adventure watch) with some of these "clever" features which is perfect and all I wanted and really like it.

A fitbit makes sense in terms of fitness watch that can keeps a balance and has the best of sleep tracking. but then ofcourse the paywalls are too much. Also the cost of a oneplus and the garmin instinct solar is not on the same level.
