@nurijones8376 the reason he was given by the publisher is he wasn't a big name in wrestling and he didn't fuck his life up so nobody would be interested in what he has to say. Shows what they know, doesn't it
I never had a chance to watch ECW as a kid, but now 20 yrs later getting back into wrestling, ECW is just soooo interesting too me makes me wish i had checked it out back in the day!!
My favorite era of ECW Was 95-98 And A Huge Reason Is Because Of Raven And Stevie Richards With Ravens Nest! I Love This Podcast. A Fellow Philly Native. I Love That You Never Lost That Philly Accent. Keep Up The Great Work

Quick Raven Story: Raven was headlining a Frank Goodman USAPro show at the Elk's in Queens with Justin Credible. The fans started an ECW chant after the guys came out, and Raven decided to cut a promo on the fans trying to turn heel on the fans saying the fans were the reason ECW ended. Soon as Raven did that, the Crowd's ECW chant turned in to a Johnny Polo chant, and the crowds' heel reaction to Raven's heel Promo made Justin Credible bust a gut laughing in the ring. Fun Night. =)

Loved Stevie in ECW. Always felt it was his best run. One of my favorite Stevie movements from back in those days was when Francine was introduced as Stevie's girlfriend and when Raven picked on her Stevie stood up to Raven for a second and than superkicked Francine. It was tremendous heat!
Raven is maybe the most underappreciated wrestler ever, also the most criminally under-utilized by the major promotions, there will never be another Raven
Always been a Stevie Richards fan. He is absolutely great as a pod caster. Just tons of energy, intricate detail of his wisdom in yhe buisness and knows how to speak clean and smooth. He would be great as a broadcaster in the sport.
Killers is probably in their top five visual covers, possibly top five albums (at least of the early years/first half of their run). Though I'm more of a Seventh Son, Fear of the Dark, Dance of Death girlie
I been following mr richards since i saw him early ecw days and followed through to wwe. Top 5 of my 5 favourite wrestlers. Rip Sid Justice. Always remembered never forgotten. ❤
Raven’s promos were the first ECW material I ever saw and was hooked. Became a Stevie fan through Raven’s Nest - but loved how Richard’s grew into his own as he went to WWE
Ravens flock was so over I can only think it was buried because the top card guys were jealously protecting their spot, brother!!! I loved their intro and there was always some vaudeville comedy with Lodi, etc... So much more depth and entertainment than NWO. One of the biggest lost opportunities in pro wrestling!!!
Yes. It is a near perfect film series. Did you know in the second film Marty's dad was recast and the new actor wore the old actors face as a mask?. Caused issues and changes at SAG. There are some good deep dive videos about all the drama.
While Raven is one of my all time favorites, I could totally see you being very different people. That being said, Stevie is a transparent breath of fresh air in all these videos. Hopefully i get to meet you at a convention or something one day for and autograph.
I enjoyed this episode, but I thought Raven would be on. Then I thought the episode would be about him. I was just wrong about everything. My girlfriend would be happy to hear it...if she existed.
I read about every wrestling biography that I get my hands on because reading is fundamental. Of course I would read a Stevie Richards book! I think you should break them up into a series so you could have one covering your time in ECW and one covering your time in WWF and one covering your time in tna, and then just one about life after wrestling
Honestly that Sid idea is awesome. Would be easy to pull off with the dynamics of it, wouldn’t have to get too physical apart from a few power bombs, would get a great reaction, and would have made Sid some extra money.
Amazing show as always.... Far be it though for me to say life is too short not to talk with someone you have love for. Hopefully nothing bad happened between you and Dreamer if not one of you needs to pick up the phone
That Raven/Dreamer story was great. I don't think it really could have existed on that level without Stevie, then the addition of Beulah. Even the addition of Gangrel and Luna, then Stevie vs Luna in the cage. I remember watching that Raven/Richards vs TPE and buying into that. I think that whole story is what made ECW.
Former CHS Lancer from South Philly here. Appreciate the CHS South Lawn reference as it relates to the Raven character. Tommy Dreamer would have definitely been more of an East Lawn guy at CHS. Natural rivalry.
Marijuana is a wonderful medicine for alcohol withdrawal. Helps give an uplifted mood and suppresses nausea. Alcoholism is often self medication for intrusive thoughts, depression, anxiety, and trauma. Marijuana is helpful for that, however if there is a history or family history of bipolar disorder or schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, marijuana may be unsafe. Make sure to consult with a doctor when stopping any self medication. They have medications that can help and can help get you therapy while monitoring your health from their end.
Great episode and hell yeah Todds book is amazing I suggest the audiobook for him doing impressions if his friends...no spoilers but "WHAT THE FUCK IS A JOHNNY LUNCHBOX?" is a thought that makes me stop and laugh a few times a week
Raven might have acknowledged it at some point but Don Muraco was a precursor to Raven in his early 80s WWF run where he tossed the intercontinental belt around like he didn’t care about it.
