It’s good to see Australia doing some great engineering.
Thanks Glenn, indeed! My biggest concern is that the gentlemen are all old and I have to do a knowledge transfer before they cark it on me lol
@@AustralianSportingAgencies😂😂😂
The barrel cleaning slot in the stock adaptor is such a fantastic feature!! 👍 Great work incorporating it into your design. And as always, thanks for catering to us lefties 👍 Really excited about this new rifle.
Thanks Julian. I think Rick was also really proud to have thought of that (it was probably Jim) :) Don't worry, we try not to discriminate against lefties.....the right lefties!
These sinister types, at it again😁.
@@AustralianSportingAgencies Not to keen on some "lefties".
It is great that weapons licensing is helping you guys with the build even though they have to. They could just as easily have said no as we have enough firearms available in the country now. Build these firearms in Australia will make it easier for us as we will not have to rely on imports so much. Hope the project goes well.
Thanks mate. To be honest, they gave us a hard time for 6-8 months as they expected us to do dodge things. Apparently they ran an investigation. Now, I think we are all on the same page and they seem happy that we are not bikies or crimes.
I'm looking foward to production day, thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
You bet! Thanks for coming on the ride mate!
Awesome the more guns made in Australia the better
Cheers mate
A flared mag well would be great for competition shooters, looking good.
Will be good if the user has the choice to attach it, instead of it being machined in place and not removable.
Hi Charlie, I will run it by the team again. There is not enough meat in the billet as the thickness of the lower is exactly the size we purchase. If we were to buy a bigger piece, the gun would be $300-400 bucks more expensive. The only thing that might be possible is to slightly round the inside edges. The other option is to leave a small cut in the outside of the magwell to then have someone make an after market flared magwell attachment that "clicks" in. However, given that we have a strict timeline and that we have closed further changed (its now going into production) it will be something that needs to be done after-market.
I agree .
Great work guys, very exciting to see some more sporting rifle developments happening in this great country. Especially with the added complexity of gas systems amazing work.
Thanks mate. Yes the gas system is a big deal, especially for the cops as we have found out. Luckily they have changed the tone of late and we were very happy with our meeting. Kudos to the new Director, he was better prepared for the meeting than anyone I met with in many years and he didn't do it to rip into us either, which was a welcomed change.
Outstanding gentleman..bravo ..thanks for letting us Australian licensed shooters be able to own a one of a kind rifle ..to be able to get on target quicker ..I cant wait for mine to arrive ..good to see
Cheers mate, working hard on making it happening ....so close now.
For the take down tool, why not make up an insert that fits inside the hollow AR15 pistol grip that can hold the tool? Have it on a safety wire that has enough length to reach the action for takedown.
No more lost tools.
I will run it by the team and see if we can shrink it down to fit into the grip. Stay tuned.
This content is exactly what I needed. Keep up the great work!
Thanks mate, great to hear!
Well done guys, the quality of workmanship is easily apparent in the smooth lines and perfect geometry. No tooling marks is a great sign!!❤❤❤
Thanks Danny, they boys will totally appreciate the comment. Unfortunately, not enough people appreciate what is means to get that done. Cheers
Great to see so much thoughtful design has gone into this.
Indeed, thanks mate!
Looking good with the updates 👍
I really like the barrel cleaning access consideration.
Thanks mate, Rick was very proud of it :)
Great update , really good feeling about this one

Beautiful piece of engineering. Work of art. Would love to see some machining videos. Love the detailed review. Can’t get enough.
Thanks mate. Scott just bought a gopro for that purpose :) Its coming :)

looking very good Mr Rick
Wow, I love the barrel cleaning hole . Eureka Stockade is winner 🏆
I like that it is designed and built in Australia 🇦🇺 by Australians 🇦🇺 . Very proud.
Thanks mate, Rick was super proud of that :)

Looking good....and the rifle.
lol! I'll tell Rick
Loving everything about the rifle so far my only two complaints are having a cross bolt safety as opposed to a selector and the screws in the fore-end, either way looks likes a quality product is about to hit the market.
Selector safety is so much more ergonomic than push button. It is disappointing we are getting a modern profile rifle and instead of taking advantage of it we are regressing to this old type of safety.
@@eurafahg570looks to me they’re trying as hard as possible to get away from the the MSR AR platform for compliance and in that we loose much of what makes the MSR platform so good. Frustrating really.
i agree, i wish it would have a ar style safety

Selector would be much better
Nice design. Saludos from Argentina.
Muchas gracias tio!

Thanks Brendan me too!
Excellent update fellas...anticipating my delivery in Aug..
Thanks Glen, yup me too. Full production will likely kick off this month, so we will have the first 200-300 guns done before the barrels arrive.
Hi. Re. Looking fwd to deliv in August….. how do u arrive at that ? Just curious that’s all as we all share the same CANT WSIT FOR THIS RIFLE issue
@@RussellVanLeeuwen-qk8iv Our barrels have the longest lead time and they will arrive in the end of July (650 units). Production is about to start on the receivers, so with 200 units hopefully made in July and another 200-300 in August, we hope that the vast majority of back orders are being serviced in August. However, anyone now ordering will certainly be September or October. Hope that makes sense?
Thank you , just saw this. I’m not terribly functional with computer and messages
Just think, in 10 years time this might just be Australia's Cat B answer to the AR, with every Aussie youtuber banging on about their Eureka Stockade as though no other rifles exist.
With the right balance of affordability, accuracy and reliability it might just happen.
that would be my and the teams dream come true moment.
I’d love the upper in FDE and lower in Cobalt! Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Cheers mate, that gave me an idea for the customization options. Thanks
I love the fde colour!
me too, looks sick
I will rush to my store and pick one up as soon as it is out!
Make sure you pre-order, i don't see the stores having stock for at least 6 months.
Looking good.
Thanks 👍
Love the update , might be a bit late in the day but any thought on milling the lower for a QD sling stud
Hi mate, A End Plate with QD attachment will fit the stocks, so that is a much cheaper option. We will offer such end plate during the customisation through the website or you can buy it from your local dealer who can order it from us.
Great looking and functionality hope NSW can approve it
Thanks mate, so do we :)
Great work guys, great to see so much thought put into this design . are you guys thinking of putting a couple of QD sling points
Yes they will be available to purchase when you customise the gun. You will be able to QD sling to the M-Lok and butt Stock and buffer tube.
Hi Rick, amazing work you guys are doing. Super appreciative of all you guys are doing.
In terms of the lever. Is it possible or practical for that matter to make it a rocker style switch? Aesthetically I think that would look good.
Hi mate, unsure if I picture it right, but you might find that you can't reach it at all, you would have to use the other hand defeating the purpose all together.
I know this is too late but.. any chance of an OD Green? Most of us victorians live on dairy farms or forests and would greatly appreciate it
I am quite confident that it will be available but it will be a special colour as an upgrade.
G'day I'd love to see the receiver in black and the rear stock and forearm in FDE, black barrel. Unsure if the rear stock can be manufactured in different colours as I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. Happy with everything else. Well done guys please keep the updates going. Getting close to the final product looking good.
Hey mate, we won't have options on colours for the stocks, you would have to do that after-market. In terms of different colours for different major parts, that might be possible but maybe not in the beginning of production as it would be difficult to time from the get go.
I love the FDE it looks very slick. With the bolt retention has a ratchet style been considered similar to the savage A17R in case the bolt for whatever reason doesn't travel far enough back when firing?
No it doesn't. The A17R needed it because the gun was shit. Sorry to say but I own one and hoped never to have bought it. We see no reason to catch the bolt half way back it is likely to cause more harm and good. We have full confidence that the gas system will deliver more than enough pressure to drive the bolt back every time.
graphite black for me that will look amazing
Yeah I agree
looking really good fellas! glad to see the addition of the barrel rod cleaning hole and other little changes. My only concern is that if you manage to hold the lever down while your firing accidentally (maybe a tense moment), it seems the bolt will have to be pulled back to reset the rifle. Im surprised there isnt a mechanism that makes it so that if you held the lever down the bolt would still be held back and when you release the lever it will then be able to be pushed down again to chamber a round (like a simple sear). Anyway the rifle looks really nice and im very keen to try it!
the A22r holds back the hammer when the lever is pressed. but the difference between the eureka and most other lever releases is that most other lever guns are semi autos with a trigger pack, whereas the eureka is built from the ground up as a lever release. i do think it could be an issue in the heat of shooting if you press it by accident and now have to rack and press to get back to shooting. it needs something to stop it from being pressed while its in battery rather than punishing you for doing it.
@@novusrex2639 yeah i understand that hence why i think it needs to be designed with the ability to hold the bolt back until you reset the lever like a trigger
So the short of it is....@novusrex....what he said. But you will find when you shot the gun and you just slip off the lever instead of pushing it while keeping the thumb on it, that this is a non-issue. Just believe me on this one, it won't be an issue! Bastian
@AustralianSportingAgencies Cheers bastion, i dont think its much of a issue but something im interested to see in practice. I do think If you keep holding it down then thats a skill issue not a rifle issue🤣
@@novusrex2639 thats literally what he was getting at
This will be my first rifle. Take my money!
Now that's a statement!
This is fantastic. Any chance for recessed foreend screws?
Hi mate, not at this point, but we will see what can be done with the next forend versions.
Looks great. How much does it weigh in its almost final version?
Yeah this would be interesting in all variations
Let me get back to you, I might get a chance to weigh her tomorrow.
Excellent work guys, what is the possibility of anodising the aluminium before ceracoating?
Just so it's not bare metal in places that can't be sprayed?
Sorry mate, that will be too expensive plus there are very few anodisers that have the licensing to do firearms at this quantity. You will find that Brendan is going to get into everything!
Looking good fellas. One question. What is to stop the charging handle from coming loose and unscrewing when shooting. I noticed it was threaded and just concerned with the hammering it will get, will it come loose over time and risk losing it?
HI mate, great question. Unfortunately, I can't give you an answer because the guys don't want to share the answer at this point. They seemed to have worked out a smart way of doing it and they don't want to let the competition know how they have done it. Obviously the secrete will come out eventually. In short, it has been considered and resolved.
@@AustralianSportingAgencies all good mate. As long as it’s been considered and addressed that’s all that matters. 👌
I think one of the first things I would do, is get some 12mm X 35mm timber and copy the bolt holding tool. Then put the original one away.
Love the updates and the rifle is looking "smicko".
lol lol that made my day!
How’s approval coming along mate ? Cheers Ronan
QLD Police want to see one in the flesh which is common, we are working with all states in the meantime, so progress is imminent :)
Hey mate, rifles looking great. What are the chances of adding an inbuilt arca tail to the forend where the current 90 degree is? Ergonomically not much different to a 90 but keeps the forend profile minimal instead of having to add an additional rail.
That was what I recommended. Got knocked back. Maybe we will offer additional forends in the future.
Looks good. Can you try to flare the mag well a little, to make magazine insertion slightly easier? Also, my OCD doesn't like the uneven picatinny rail spacing at the spot where the end of the front hand guard meets the front of the upper receiver. Would be nice if the whole top picatinny rail looks seamless. Cheers.

Hi mate, I'll try to answer all the comments:
2. The hand-guard was the prototype we received, the upper is off a newer design, hence they don't match. The production version will likely match exactly (to be confirmed) Our issue is that we won't see the final hand-guard before the uppers are made.
Keep in mind they are trying to keep production costs down. So that means minimal machining passes, minimal material waste ect. The gun is trying to come to market at a price point. I suspect that's partly why they have a cross bolt safety.
Well, a slight smooth bevel on the magwell inside edges would go a long way for usability, IMO. Nothing too dramatic, just what you'd see on a typical AR15 magwell, they've all got slight bevels. I think the aftermarket can probably easily attach a huge magwell flare via the trigger guard screw holes, for IPSC comps etc.
Good to hear the production version handguards most likely have a seamless top pic rail.
Thank you for the reply. Cheers.
@@Christoph1888 What he says as well.
So far so good! I have just a few questions. What barrel lengths can we expect? What profile will the barrels be? Will the barrels be threaded?
Hi mate, all barrels will be match barrels. The weight is lighter than the standard barrel and it is more accurate, also better heat dispersion. They are available in 16inch and 20 inch in either 1/8 or 1/12.
All barrels will be threaded with 1/2x28 and will come with a flash hider/muzzle brake
Love your work !
Has this been sent to Tasmania firearms for categorization? I really hope this passes for cat B
No not yet, we will work with QLD first before sending the firearm interstate. Because if QLD hasn't registered it, we can't send it :)
The new weapons licensing director has done a much better effort with transparency than their predecessor already. Back then it would have been unheard of to have any kind of feedback from the licensing branch as to what the designs should cater towards in order to pass inspection, felt like they were actively working against manufacturers. On a side note: personally I'm extremely chuffed with the disassembly. Thought it would initially require punches, mallets, screwdrivers, etc but the way its been kept relatively similar to that of the WFA1's method of disassembly I think it should come naturally to some folks (myself included).
TLDR: New weapons licensing director is a sick c*nt, and the gun does what its supposed to :)
Good job as always!
He certainly has. I wish him well and I can already after 6 months see the changes. Hope he stays neutral and follows the law by the letter and doesn't turn to the dark side by making shit up, like it has been in the past. Biggest thing for us is equality in treatment and consistency, so we can plan, after all we are running a business.
I take it this guy is the head of Qld weapons licensing who he had a meating with?
@@Christoph1888 The Director of Weapons Licensing, the second in charge is my understanding.
Plus a left hand charging handle option if possible
Sorry mate, not possible. The bolt carrier group has not enough space for the handle to be screwed into. Right hand it is.
Great work. I'm a fan of coyote tan. Where are the barrels made?
Me too. The US
Man I’m starting to get excited now. Fingers crossed it gets approved by nsw police. Any chance of adding od green to the list of standard colours 🙏
Hi mate, we will have other colours available but they will come at an extra cost, but I am positive that OD green will be available. That said, is up to the professional opinion of the cerokoting team. Colour selection has a lot to do with how easy it is to spray. I actually though all colours are the same, but they are so not.
Have you considered treating the internal receiver with P-109 Micro Slick from cerakote ?
Can the hand guard be keyed to mate with the receiver.
Are these machined in Australia ?
Is that Turkish grip and stock ?
Is the barrel manufacturer Green Mountain Rifle Barrel Co. ?
The bolt runs on two bars and basically doesn't really touch the receiver, so we see no need for it. You could run it completely dry like we have for 1000 rounds to see wear and tear.
No the handguard won't be keyed in this version. We see no need for it. Time will tell if we change our mind on that.
Yes machined and made in AU
Yes they are turkish. Which in principle is not a problem if you use premium suppliers which we do.
Yes they are GM barrels.
Good stuff, thanks mate.
I only speak for myself; if the internal coating was a premium option for an additional $50-$100 I would choose that.
I got to ask, will there be a last round bolt hold open for the magazine, as well as fencing to protect the magazine release button from accidental bumps? Thankyou for all the hard work over the months, it is soo close now I feel!
LRBHO is achieved I believe through the action being locked back on the lever release. The mode of action of the rifle automatically does it.
@@rvrski1The only issue there is that you're eventually going to get muscle memory to the point where you flick down the lever after every shot.
An empty magazine bolt hold open that catches the bolt if you flick the lever on an empty mag would fix that issue.
And if the bolt hasn't been released by the lever then it won't have caught on the mag hold open, so it shouldn't interfere if you reload that way.
The bolt will stay open regardless of weather it is the first round or any round. Remember it is a lever release.
@@tallboy49 what i should clarify is a dedicated bolt catch like on an actual AR, that gets activated by the magazine follower - ie similiar to how a magazine on a auto loader pistol locks back when empty. Seeing from the video the lack of any bolt catch device, I assume not.
Even then, having a seperate bolt catch device for this feature introduces more complexity and possible handling confusion between the lever release mechanism - two seperate systems trying to catch and hold the bolt for their own reasons.
I also think its a little late to get ordered parts and springs plus milling out a channel for the Bolt catch.
Reciever fencing milling would be possible or even bolted on as an addition. The exposed release button does remind me of the early AR-10 and Vietnam issued XM-16 "flat slab" recievers.
You answered your own question there. The mag will hold the bolt open when empty however if you take the mag out before securing the bolt back in his rear position (for the lever to re-engage) the bolt will go forward and close empty. So the operation would be as follows:
1. Push lever
2. Mag empty, bolt stops on mag
3. pull charging handle back
4. push mag release button
5. insert new mag
6. push lever, bolt closes,
7. engage trigger
PS: the mag release button is exposed as the aluminum billet would need to be thicker whcih would cost hundreds of dollars more in production to just do that and maybe fare the magwell. We are after all working to a price point.
I'm excited to support an Australian made product. What calibres will it come in?
Thanks Rick, a couple of comments…..
For those of us who catch cases we need the charging handle on the opposite side to the ejection port.
Cross bolt safety’s aren’t as manageable as a MSR style levers when at your shoulder.
Someone else mentioned proud fasteners on the hand guard and the pic rail inconsistency between the upper and hand guard.
Adjustable trigger? As it’s a proprietary trigger group triggers need to be adjustable for different applications.
Now that we see the gun dressed its apparent the commitment to get away from the MSR AR platform “look” I suspect to appease the ignorant (or agenda driven) authorities (you’ll never satisfy the ignorant agenda driven public). It’s a shame in many ways as we loose a lot of the benefits of that MSR AR platform in appeasement.
Hi mate, I'll try to answer all the comments:
1. Charging handle can't be put on the other side because there is no room in the bolt carrier group to do that.
2. When you have the gun, you will find that the safety is easier and faster to switch than any gun before. Hard to show, but believe me. You can have your trigger finger already on the trigger and just push the safety in with your thumb joint. You will see, mark my words.
3. The hand-guard was the prototype we received, the upper is off a newer design, hence they don't match. The production version will likely match exactly (to be confirmed) Our issue is that we won't see the final hand-guard before the uppers are made.
4. Trigger can be adjusted by a gunsmith but not by an end consumer. Jim is a trigger Nazi, so I am very confident it will be a super nice trigger. However, there is legislation on how light a trigger can be from a manufacturer and Eureka will have to follow that. If you want it lighter, hit up your local gunsmith or we might have one we recommend in-house.
5. I am certain that there is nothing you loose compared to AR platform, we have improved on the ergonomics and mechanical design while giving the firearm the best chance to be approved in the first place, when you hold the gun, you will feel and see it. No point in having an AR if you can't buy it or sell it.
PS: don't get me wrong, I don't approve subjective laws at all.
@@AustralianSportingAgencies Appreciate the detailed reply
1. Understood. Well look into solutions when the rifle arrives.
2. No probs, we’ll trust ya.
3. More of an aesthetics thing as one wouldn’t be mounting anything over the join.
4. I’m not sure there’s actual regulations that prevents a trigger from being adjustable, just regulations that triggers have to be delivered from the factory above a certain pull weight.
I can understand manufactures treading cautiously even if within the regulations in a litigious environment given there’s no IQ test when obtaining a firearms licence or a PTA.
5. I hope your right, I’ve used an MSR AR platform commercially in the past and I can honestly say that beyond being RH orientated (near impossible to get LH lowers back then) there wasn’t anything I’d change.
Looking forward towards a tool specific for station work across boarders.
Cheers,
T

Will I void warranty if I spray paint the rifle? Awesome work love Australian made
Very good question, I am not sure. The warranty document has not been written yet so I just don't know at this point. I will ask Eureka Gun Co to include a comment.
I am most impressed, what pattern magazine ? Lots of AICS mags in Australia but not sure if AR mags are so common ?
Ruger, Wedgetail, SCSA and Warwick commonly use AR/M4 mags, so either way shouldn’t be an issue (with all but Ruger also being Aussie)
PMag compatible. There are tons around and they cost close to nothing. Check out our previous video, we show the magazine in that.
Maybe a bit of a weird question, but have you guys tested whether dryfiring the rifle will cause any damage to the firing pin or other components?
Dry firing will not cause any damage beyond the normal wear and tear of live fire. Actually less. So feel free to go for gold dry firing.
Forgive me if this has been covered. But what is a rough estimate on the price for the end user?
Hi mate, we were aiming for $2500 but I need final pricing from Eureka hopefully this week.
Is the Straight Trigger design the final design, or will it get a traditional curved trigger?
Straight as an arrow mate! No curves here. Once you feel it, you will appreciate it.
I believe you answered this in a previous video but will it take AR magazines? Cheers
Yes
Might be a tad crazy, but could there be delayed blow back versions of these, with the intend to hugely lower weight?
if your talking roller delayed blow back its possible but double or triple the price as that's a very complex machining process

I was hoping for a type of lever release that had a lever that reset like a trigger so that the bolt won't go forward if you hold the lever down too long while shooting. I can imagine some timed competitions or pest control where you are going for speed. This may cause a disadvantage by causing a round to be loaded but not able to fire it.
I imagine it wont be impossible to modify the lever to reset assuming there is room in the receiver wall?
I do love this project and I am glad there is some new Australian made rifles like this!
Thanks for the feedback. Believe me when I say this is a non-issue. In practice you won't have that issue, especially if you trained. In terms of modification, many companies have tried to make it work in a centrefire but failed. We understand how difficult it is and left it alone. That said, once you have one and you work something out, let me know.

@@Christoph1888 Not on the cards at the moment. But after the .308 we will send out a survey to see what calibre should come next.
Will you sell overseas?
We are considering exporting, however we will only start with that once we have satisfied local demand as we won't want local customers to wait longer than necessary. Where are you based?
What does it weigh?
Best guess 105kg
Noice 👍🤑

fuck yeh FDE rules
Yup
Why would I buy a firearm i can't upgrade in some way?. Your trigger might be "good," but a Geissele is amazing. What if i wanted a carbon fibre forend to greatly reduce weight or a 14inch barrel and 12ich forend?, are you going to make different length barrels and forends? Are you going to make a better triggers to fit this system? To think it can't be improved upon is a bit silly.
There is a 16 & a 20 inch barrel with 1/8 & 1/12 twist rates. Below 16 inch would be illegal.
@@craigparker4108 illegal where? I have a mrx bison 223 bolt gun with a 12.5inch carbon fiber barrel and its legal in Qld.
@@PRSKris NSW, yeah all the different laws are stupid. Like no public land hunting in QLD sucks.
@craigparker4108 with the 12.5" barrel and a folding stock i can fit it in a back pack, NSW gun laws suck and i hate we can hunt State Forrest in Qld too, but ive got plenty of private land to hunt and shoot.
Obviously they have to distance their design from certain other rifles in order to maximise the chance of approval. Wedgetail tried making a lever release AR15 a while back and Victorian LRD threatened to categorise it as cat D.
I am sure there will be an aftermarket for this rifle just like there is one for the Taipan.
I am really surprised. QLD "weapons" licencing have been great with me up until now. I am not the greatest fan of the police, But! I live on a boat and I didn't have an in date passport (pommy), So by the time I got a new one my application would have expired. I was expecting them to try and stop me at the first hurdle. They have replied to my emails the same day normally and have been nothing but helpful. Credit, where credits due.
I agree, we see a positive trend in the right direction. Hope that continues.
I've sent emails to the details on your website and received no replies - you're way behind your promised schedule AND your customer service is pretty bad - not a good start mate.
I really truely hope you pick it up and that it turns out well. I'd love one of your boom sticks once I see they are in other peoples hands. No way I want to be in the first batch problems.
@@LakeSanctuary740 Ah mate, I am supportive - I'd love to own one of these and that's real support: buying the product. I am just complaining because I noticed these months ago, the website promised dates already past, and when I emailed requesting a timeframe or update i was totally ignored... that's worth mentioning, no ?
It IS constructive criticism and not holding it against anyone, just threw my commentary in there. Whatever mate. Can't hack it, then don't read it.
@@foff-666 HI mate, apologies for that. send me one directly to action@australiansportingagencies.com att: Bastian. Originally we expected to release in March. However the barrel manufacturing has taken significantly longer than expected. Which in all honesty is a good thing as it gave us 3 months more to refine the product and I think it will pay off big time. Hence, I am positive that Gen 1 will work. Production of the receivers will start this month, the barrel will arrive end of July and we will start delivery in August assuming QLD police gives us the last green light in time. Final torture testing should commence in the next 2 weeks.
@@AustralianSportingAgencies It's all good mate i'll email you again and definitely will be a customer i love the design and can't wait for it to be ready! cheers
What happened to Australians lol
I know right?!
This is going to be an excellent rifle . Have a question. Will we be able to put loctite on forend screws or is not advisable. Appreciate and answer on this . Cheers keep up the good work.
You will find that you won't need it. These screws have been custom made to not loosen. If you do use loktite, don't use the permanent, you will need to clean the gas system underneath the hand guard.
The way that grip has that lump under the trigger guard looks a bit off .
Cheers for the feedback, the reason it is there is because we set the grip further back so that normal sized men can actually pull the trigger properly. We found that the AR has the trigger way to close to the grip. You could almost think they were built for kids hands.
For the take down tool, why not make up an insert that fits inside the hollow AR15 pistol grip that can hold the tool? Have it on a safety wire that has enough length to reach the action for takedown.
No more lost tools.
Great idea. Unsure about the practicality of the wire but maybe we can make it the size so it fit in the grip. I'll run it by Jim. Cheers
@@AustralianSportingAgencies steel fishing line leader.
but it might rattle alot
Ok, so the team tested it and it doesn't fit. I see it this way, you can do it without the tool, but to get to that stage you need some allen keys anyway, so you might as well keep the tool with the allen keys.
@@AustralianSportingAgencies other option is to have a hollow butt stock like the Mauser M18, these rifles have 2 side clips you push in and it unclips. No tools to access.
@@vintagetintrader1062 LOL can't believe I didn't think of that. The butt stock from the video is hollow and has an access door, should be plenty of room. I'll check next week when I am back in the office.
