The entire album "The war to end all wars" by SABATON has now been released! And with it comes the song "Dreadnought" which is a song about a massive kind of warship that were used in the 2:nd world war. The guitar solo in this song is among the most beautiful and awesome I have ever heard them make! That was SO friggin amazing! I might even say, this is my favourite song of ALL Sabatong songs! At least so far!
Joakim Brodén has the voice of a god, and when they put the echo in that voice in this song, it becomes almost scary.

Tommy's solo in Stormtroopers and Dreadnought and Chris' solo in Hellfighters and Sarajevo are among the best solos in Sabaton songs ever. When I first heard the abum , this song was by far my favourite, but now it's impossible for me to choose 1 song. This album is simply a masterpiece.

I think you can clearly hear the influence of Sabaton's two other naval songs, Bismarck and Wolfpack, culminating in this one. The absolute arrhythmia of that stop-start intro, like Wolfpack, builds a feeling of dread or horror. I don't know how to communicate this as far as music theory but I hear Bismarck in the sheer SIZE of these monsters coming at you.
After all, the concept of a Dreadnought-class battleship is fairly simple. Imagine a boat, but--okay hear me out though--we put, literally, guns from Hell on this thing. I'm talking guns for days. Just the most stupidly gigantic guns you can imagine. And with these obscenely massive guns we just straight-up murder everything.
They really get that across. Rather than horrors lurking in the deep like in Wolfpack, they show you a surface vessel so big it looms over you and could probably just run you over and not even apologize. Kinda like Shadow of the Colossus but with a boat. Man, I love Sabaton.
Well they really manage to portray it and the entire feeling of it! 😱🔥

Next to Stormtroopers and Hellfighters, this is one of the strongest songs on the latest Sabaton album, with really heavy guitar solos. Both Chris and Tommy are honestly amazing guitarists. I was speechless when I first heard Dreadnought. I've never heard a voice as powerful and deep as Joakim's. And another great reaction👍 The best ones are those of Sabaton songs 😁🤘

I listened to this after a few of other other songs in the album and i didn't think it would be much.
I was so wrong because now this is probably the favorite out of all the songs they ever did. So heavy and epic, the drums in the solo give the impression of ships guns blasting away in a hellish sea battle.
At the last line before the chorus, I always envision captains shouting "FIRE!"

the idea behind the Dreadnought class, starting with HMS Dreadnought of the Royal Navy, was the idea of standardizing the mish-mash of calibers in main armament aboard capitol ships of the time. they went from having 2 or more different calibers on a single boat to adding extra turrets and making ALL of those guns the absolute biggest they could fit into the mounts. the dreadnought era of naval warfare was all about who could build the most of these new super battleships. the Royal Navy held that title, but unlike the french and german navies who could focus these new warships into heavy ship squadrons and fleets for mass engagement, the Royal Navy's Dreadnoughts were spread out far and wide to protect the British Empire.
It is unique, isn't it. Don't you have the feeling, especially with the solo, that you actually riding the waves on that monster ship? It's pure Sabaton, but somehow is different, and is fantastic.🌊🎶🇵🇱

Joakims and Pär are so good with their lyrics. Considering that English is not their first language. Their Swedish album is just unbelievable. The difference between en livstid I krig and the English version is immense. And I love the Swedish version. Back to this song. It is so so good and you are right. The guitar solo is fantastic. I can distinguish between Chris's and Tommy's solos by now. They are so different but so amazing. Can't wait for your next Sabaton reactions....maybe to one of their Swedish songs????

Hello David...l am a little late to the party! Firstly, l have to say l am learning so much about war events due to Sabaton. I completely understand that to some it may seem a glorification of war ( completely understandable!) But, unfortunately it is a part of human history that is still going on in 2022! The way l see it, is that Sabaton is marking through great music what has happened. Joachims' voice sounds like it's coming from the depths of the ocean here! Guitar solo...no words!!!! Every time l listen to a Saboton song l am reminded of the bravery AND unnecessary loss of life that war causes. Have we learnt nothing? You look amazing David! Take care sweetie. 🤗😉😁

The naming in the Great War is just impossible to match. Sure, the US 7th Fleet is nice, the PLAN Southern Fleet is descriptive. But "The Fleet of the High Sea approach" and "The Grand Fleet prepare their guns" are sooo freaking ominous

Someone else mentioned it, but one of the ships shown is the USS Texas, the last Dreadnought Class ship still floating. She's just been released from drydocks. She was one of the only American ships to see all theaters of the naval war side of WW2.
My great grandfather served on her during her deployment in WW2.

Hi, this is also one of my favourite songs from the new album. The solo is awesome. To be honest, I haven't listened to them much for a while, as listening to warsongs is not something I want to do these days. But it is a great song, for sure.

It’s so funny that you can hear which one who plays the solos. Tommy plays faster and more vibratos than Chris who makes a fewer and more powerful vibratos. And Chris plays faster solos. Bismarck is a good example of Tommys vibratos.

I’m actually super jealous that you’ve met Tommy😂 I almost got the chance in Falun but the bus driver said that it would take a long time before they came out to the bus so I went back to the hotel. And then I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a message from Tommy that he wanted to come out and meet me but he didn’t know I was there and promised me to meet me next time I see their concert.

They definitively have some passion for naval warfare history, and the music is fantastic.
Yet. historicaly, they overdid it with the illustration. The ship is not the HMS Dreadnought or a sister ship. In WW1, the Dreadnought-class was pretty much outdated, a dying breed.
The illustration looks pretty much like HMS Hood, build towards the end of the great war, without any deployment.
It wasn’t really outdated during WW1 because during this time it was their 2nd phase/generation of dreadnoughts which are called the super-dreadnought which are still dreadnoughts but with more armor and with better firepower. The illustration is not HMS Hood but rather USS Texas because of its turrets and bridge which are angled and the bridge high up compared to Hood which its turret looks slightly rounded and the bridge lowered. Additionally you can see the secondary armaments sticking out of its side which the Hood doesn’t have.
As someone else mentioned, the illustration is the USS Texas which is the last dreadnaught so I think it’s pretty fitting
I wouldn’t say the dreadnought class was outdated tho, they served their purpose even if they rarely ever clashed except in Jutland.
They were expensive and served as deterrents, keeping Germany’s navy and her dreadnought trapped
Far from it, the Dreadnoughts were still the most advanced weapons in the world over the course of WWI, though HMS Dreadnought herself was fairly outclassed by the time of the Great War. Dreadnoughts didn’t really go away until the Washington Naval Treaty, which limited the size and gun caliber etc of future battleships.
And even than, a fair amount stuck around into WWII, technically outclassed now but still powerful ships
@@Mrtrainlover679 You mean the vessels that later simply be called Battleships, yes all of those, were called Dreaadnought, out of habit in the UK. But Dreadnought is actually one certain model of battleship, and this battleship series was outdated.
@@LiewLmao As I mentioned in another reply, the popular synonym Dreadnought for Battleship, is mixed, with the series of ships of the Dreadnought class.
Like on the German side, one would take battleships of the Baden-class and call all battleships Badens from there on.
