Nice video, I remember studying Music Tech at A-Level in the 00s and we had an educational video of Fatboy Slim explaining the exact same process. We were using DAW for actual editing of course, but it really helped to cement the fundamentals of sampling and loops.
1:33 in and my first 'doh' ... When I tried last year I made a 'blank loop' and tried to record onto that without success!... still got 8 minutes - room for plenty more 'doh's!
@HarderThanConcrete rather than go where the mistake takes you? Or was it something specific that wouldn't work any other way? I love mistakes.... I pretend they are me being creative!😇

One of my first jobs as a tape op. Classical recordings so not quite as easy as a single voice. 😁

My favourite thing is when I get the direction of something mixed up in a really long loop and have to disassemble it.

@@2009Tosh I wouldn't if it caused it to reverse, but due to these being weird four tracks it wouldn't work. I'm all for other happy accidents though
6:52... No overlap? Damn, so THAT'S what i used to do wrong!
