Five years later this video is still amazing. Her ability to see moments, the mood she stylizes her photos in, and the captions she rights for them is truly a work of art. One of my favorite street photographers.
Paola is hands-down the best street photographer in the world. These quality captures are clearly the result of a huge sacrifice of time [and career, as stated in the video] and dedication to the art. I shoot landscape but am literally now inspired to venture into ‘street’ in hopes to come anywhere near the lasting impressions @monaris_ creates. Congratulations, ma’am. ...point of view...and some other words, expressions, feelings,... you got me.frankly, i think that from this series, the 6th, this is the first which really touched... Thank you.
Thank you for telling this inspiring story. Gives me a different feeling for street photography. I've learnt to take photos for me and not to impress others. And yes, I get disappointed with my work from time to time and this has helped me see it isn't necessary. Thanks for another inspiring edition!
A lot of photographers on here have said they have quit their 9-5 job and pursued their career as a photographer. What exactly are they doing with their photos to make money though?
Paola Franqui I used to love your work until one of my mentors told me that you said 35mm only street photography was boring 🤦🏽♂️. I’m so sick of internet photographers diminishing the artistic qualities of fine art for “followers” 😌
Paola Franqui I get it though, your a small girl and your scared to get close. I would challenge you to shoot only a 28mm lens for a month and not crop. I know you’ll never do that but eh worth a try.
Device Solutions it gets boring to ME, yes. Same way an 55/85 does to me as well. That’s why I constantly switch lenses; new perspectives is key for me to be able to stay inspired. if you stopped liking my work because of what your mentor said, then that’s truly a shame. We get so easily misjudged here. Clearly you’ve never shot with me to know how close I get. ;)

saul leiter she is not
I agree with the others in that Sony is the only bad thing in this video
Ami Jenny sorry you feel that way.
The only bad thing here is the Sony...
RiChudo sorry you feel that way lol
why
“I don’t use a telephoto lens I use an 85mm with an A7RIII and crop to 100mm”
😂🤦🏽♂️
Device Solutions not really.
Paola Franqui I used to love your work until one of my mentors told me that you said 35mm only street photography was boring 🤦🏽♂️. I’m so sick of internet photographers diminishing the artistic qualities of fine art for “followers” 😌
