Hey Randy, I just flipped a 2005 Mini Cooper S. I'm working on a video of it now to post on my channel. But yes it does have a CVT. Mine had only 52k miles and it leaked like a typical BMW.

Randy-the Mini should be geared, also the first generation Mini's has a South American- sourced Chrysler 1.6L Neon motor. As far as CVT's are concerned, one of the biggest reasons Nissan's have a bad rep and low resale is the JATCO- produced CVT. Ask any good transmission tech their opinion on CVT's...well, Nissan's V6 also suffers from the internal water pump placement. Water pump leaks, you either look at a huge bill to fix or it hydra-locks the engine. Awesome!

If your considering the Toyota truck, remember to check the frame between the cab and the bed, they tend to rust in half there. Toyota actually recalled them I believe.

Randy since that Mini copper is a 2006 and that the transmission looks like that with those + and - and shifts slow to drive , yes it's a CVT !!!! But I still love it with that beautiful british Racing green definitely worth , get and try it out Randy bcos it runs smooth and well and only needs some usual car maintenance , engine/motor mount , replace the hose whichever is busted and refill it with fresh coolant replace the bumper and the plastics and some of those weather strips , give the car a good buff and polish , she will be a beautiful clean daily sports car. Also loved that 2020 Explorer man she's a beauty and luxury and the damage is fixable really is , bcos so good it is compared to how it looks , bcos the structure underneath , then frame rails , subframe , its perfect most of it is bolt on's ( i.e the driver door ,side skirt , fender and inner inner liner) and some work on the A-pillar section , definitely a GEM of a vehicle and a rebuild . Randy that Tacoma is a beast , looks mean and strong and defintely they hold they're value such low miles , its a good one looks well maintained and I love it and worth the money but who knows at the auction bids it mat go lesser good to keep on the watch list . Randy lastly regarding the Ram with blown V6 , for 750$ pleas get it bcos its a beautiful gem of a truck and whole repaint and body-work she will be so beautiful and swap out the engine for all of our favorite dream engine the 5.7 hemi baby , Randy so cheap and its a Dodge Ram , man where I live these Dodge trucks are cared for and considered gems bcos they are beautiful indeed and here only toyota , mitsubishi trucks are only seen so for me thats awesome to buy truck and put some nice mean engine (the Hemi of course ) and make it look nice as well. Love to see these walkarounds glad to see you back , Stay safe and God Bless.

I have a blaze red Crossfire coupe hardtop with 147,700 miles with 6 speed manual it runs great but would love to have a cheap parts car as these cars are hard to find and the parts are very expensive to buy I would love to have the engine and interior and tail lights and headlight and wheels .If the car was $200 I would buy one but I live in Maryland and I don't find these on the rd anymore I have seen 2 in the last 3 yrs since I bought mine. I think the Crossfire looks better than the SLK I rebadged mine with Mercedes star on the grill and rear hatch and I put spinners with Mercedes stick on center caps I put on Ford Mustang spinners. They look awesome People ask me what model Mercedes is this I say it is a European model. LOLOL I get lots of positive comments I took all the Chrysler badging off of the engine and the car and used Mercedes Engine cover .Car looks better with Mercedes stars on it : ) : )

The Mini's engine looks like a Neon motor because it that's exactly what it is. Destroked down to 1.6. Rover and Chrysler had a partnership before BMW took over, and the euro spec neons and pt cruisers had this as the base motor too.

@AutoAuctionRebuilds => A 2006 mini cooper is a good car if you get the Cooper S with a Stick. We bought one new, and passed it along to a brother after we ran it for 10 years with very little problems (one water pump was all - other than normal wear parts). The Supercharger (yes, before BMW messed it up going to a different engine with a Turbo) needs a major rebuild at about 100K miles (if my memory is correct), so if you pick one up, take that into account.

Randy, I have a Crossfire SRT convertible that I bought from Copart approx three years ago, light hit. Replaced front left fender, head light pod, bumper cover and hood. painted same. No damage to frame rail or radiator support. The car presently is in storage as I live in the snow belt, Minnesota. Car has about 45xxx miles on it. Prior to owning the SRT I had the identical car in the standard model and as far as power goes there is no comparison, to confirm your statement of being a beast. The only negative is that it has aftermarket wheels I believe everything works with only the tire pressure light intermittently coming on. I will be selling it this spring and if you are interested, as your statement of wanting an SRT I can shoot you the vin # so you can research it first.

You’re definitely right about the quality on the new explorers, They don’t build them like they used to. My 2000 Eddie Bauer 5.0 is approaching 272,000 miles, original drivetrain and no issues. The paint shines better than it did when it rolled off the assembly line. And being an Illinois truck it’s whole life, it has hardly any rust, never undercoated it either. It’s been driven through salt covered roads every winter for the past 21 years.
The new ones with that ecoboost garbage won’t make it past 150k without having engine or transmission problems.

The automatic transmission used on MINIs from 2003-2006 is known as a Constant Velocity Transmission or CVT. ... The vehicle is able to accelerate without changing gears due to a drive belt system that varies the ratio of the transmission.

Bonnet release passenger and open latch drivers side. Makes sense, to confuse someone.

Truck prices are way high right now. Im looking for one and its insane! Those Toyotas are going to high also, there's a 04 4runner on CL it was decent with 265k they wanted 6,500$ no way in hell. That 4 runner was 2,500$ 10 years ago with half the miles and no rust
