My oldest liked a lot of the same books! My youngest is now getting to that stage. Katie Woo also has "Katie Woo and Pedro Mysteries" and the same author had a Pedro series as well. My oldest liked Ling and Ting as well around that same stage!
We have the same set of readers from Usborne, and those have really come in handy! I love the Little Bear series, as well. Thanks for the recommendations! We're getting closer to the stage of getting beyond reading basics and getting toward reading early reader books...excited!
My son was loving reading and then he got a little bored until we found an elephant and piggie book! He gained so much confidence with those and quite a few sight words and his reading really took off after that. He’s also loved the dragon masters series and step into reading history books. I am going to check out some of these you mentioned that we haven’t heard of before. Thanks!
Love it! I have two who will be in the intermediate stage soon, I think. And I have definitely felt like supplementing the "less fun" reading lessons (I mean particularly word lists or heavy work on a single phonetic principle) with some of those Usborn early readers, etc have helped my kids be flexible in the style they read, and enjoy the process more too!
Great recs! Looking forward to your chapter book recs for 8 y.o.! If possible books with not too many scary or sad/death parts. Thank you for always sharing!
Thanks for sharing. My 7 year old loves the Firehawk Series. The Imagination Station series are a popular one too here, they are based on historical events, so perhaps your son might like them….maybe on the easier side, but I did see my 10 year old even grabbing them, and he could read them in two sittings.
We love the Little Bear series. You need a lot of phonics to rewd them. Anyone who needs reference.... we're on the last box of Bob Books and doing Explode the Code 4. Its long so I read a page and she reads another. We do one chapter at a time then next day we switch so if she read odd number pages now she'll read even.

I couldn't agree more - they need fun books to fall in love with reading :)

We tried The Imagination Station a while back - but he should definitely not have any issues with it now!
@@sciencemama they are really good.

Where were the Lily and Luke books from? I did a quick search on amazon and didn't come up with anything
They are from the Good and the Beautiful! I literally have them in my cart right now - my boys just got a birthday gift certificate!
Thank you!@@BandanaBookmom
Oh good, I'm glad they are still available ... they were two of my daughters favorite books :)
