Swedish torch + 5" Firebox + Mountains = match made in Heaven. Major improvement, especially for groups and up here in the cold north. Great improv Steve!

Wow dude! Thank you! It is a balmy -18C here in Edmonton today. I copied your method and used a whole package of fire starter, (because of the cold), & let the fire start for 20 minutes. I was able to cook a package of cheese potatoes to perfection in 40 minutes. Enough fire remained to grill a rib steak to medium rare! My wife and I are thrilled with such performance!

It was a lot of fun experimenting with the Nano, to me that's half the fun. The cool thing is how well it worked. My aim was to investigate low maintenance fire in the Nano, I was very pleased. Nice stove, and very capable even though it is small.

Thanks for the video Steve, you are on a winner with the firebox design, as there are many good cooking stoves on the market, however; your design permits different kinds of fuels to be used, Trangia burner for when you are not permitted to have a solid fuel fire, solid fuel tablets, and wood. Quite impressed, I also like the way which the stove folds down which saves on packing bulk.

To the best of my knowledge I'm one of the first if not the first to try this fueling method. I only say that because I am the inventor of the Firebox stoves and I think it's important for people to know how much practical testing and general twig stove experience goes into the designs of my stoves. I don't just sell products I live the experience and am part of the stove community 👍😎

@@fireboxstove I definitely appreciate the efforts, one day I’ll own one of yours, what I really love about these little wood burners is besides being lightweight and taking little room is the economical use of fuel to cook a full meal. I’ve cooked meals (hotdogs, burgers) in not much time for up to 8 people using another wood burner and only used a 1/4 of an average fire pit log.

That looks tasty! Really, enough for three people? Hah! So it looks like about 2" diameter sticks (4 of them) is the secret. No real need for the smaller pieces on the outside it seems. Works excellent as far as I can see. Will have to try that also.
What knife were you using this time?

Hey, thanks for the video. I recently got the firebox nano and I'm excited to use it a bit more. I have used it only once so far. I notice in your video's you use fire starters to get the swedish torches going. I didn't use this method as I felt like I was cheating, but I did find it difficult to get going. Basically I had to light our camp fire and get some hot coals going then drop one down into the center of the torch and blow air to get it to catch. Any chance of doing some vids on getting the swedish torch going without a fire starter? Anyway, so far I'm happy with the nano though.
