When you said lean angle I laughed. I have a Ducati panigale and bought a forty eight the other day. Tried to lean it like a sport bike and low sided lol
Robert, that’s a beautiful bike, love everything you’ve done to it, very nice! I’m a Sportster fanatic, on my 3rd one, a 1995 1200 in mint condition, like you said, you can do anything to a Sportster, that’s the best thing about them, new sub here!
Hi Robert, do you still have this bike? I've been promising myself a HD for literally years and have done nothing about it. So, this year I plan to fix that and finally scratch the Harley itch I've had for too long. I really love the 48's and all that can done to them, so many bits to adapt or change should keep me busy for another 10 years. Ride safely, best wishes from the UK.
I do not sadly... I sold of my bikes when I moved to japan and now here I ride a 2012 ducati streetfighter 848. Harleys are great! its like a lifestyle more than just a bike... its definitely not about speed! the cool factor of the sound and customizations is insane.
maurigurl1 thanks for stopping by.... congrats on your first harley! great bike! Amazing sound and insane aftermarket support! I have a couple dozen harley videos... let me know if you have questions
Sportster is absolutely the sportiest bike they make. The Sportster is faster in the 1/4 mile than any Harley except the Vrod and the Vrod isn't much faster. The XL platform originally stood for "experimental lightweight". There are definetly Harleys with a higher top speed but the Sporty will smoke 99% of them up passed highway speed. It is not a sport bike by any means, but to say it isn't the sportiest Harley is wrong lol

Yes... the 48 has enough power to grown into it but yet non threatening for a new person! A million ways to make your own with tons of custom support... by used tho! You can find them in amazing conditions with very low miles at low prices
@@RobertOrtiz1015 Cool thx for replying! Your Harley is SWEET! I’ve always liked Harleys. It’s the only motorcycle I would ever own. The 48 is iconic/classic & the Road Glide and Street Glide special are my style. I’ve only rode dirt bikes and quads. My plan is to get myself a 48 customize it and then get a bagger and keep them both forever. 🤙
@@RobertOrtiz1015 ..I just bought me a 2022 48...do you think you could post a link for the tank you upgraded to....I have not even taken delivery of my bike yet because I too am going to have Harley install mini apes and cable kit before I pick it up..$ 1,200 bars and labor includes cable kit..I bought V&H SHORT SHOTS and a FP3 that I will be installing myself and running the auto tune feature...!!! Thanks Robert...!!!
Ever noticed that a lot of things that annoy the bejesus outa you on a Harley the solution is (generally speaking) resolved by some bolt on product that cost you a few hundred bucks & can be easily done by Joe average who's handy with wrench. The Harley marketing depart don't miss you in the design phase there's always a few wallet milkers built into every Harley.
So you didn't change the rear shocks? So does that seat take up a lot of the shock out? I am 66 yrs. old, I don't know how old you are, but when I was in my 20-40's I used to drive on long trips with my hardtail Sportster and no pain. With the 48 now severe pain, I don't want to quit riding but if it's just going to paralyze me .....?
Michael Smith i must say alot of my friends are upgrading to the dyna rear shocks! Seem to drop in and they are way better in sucking up bumps. When i got my 2018 fatbob it was a huge difference! The new softail line has amazing suspension... couldn’t even notice same bumps that the sporter will make me feel... if u have back issues I definitely recommend an upgrade in rear suspension or go with the softail line...
Jonathan, I was in my 20-30's then, a lot of bikers rode choppers all over the country back then. You must be a young kid. I was born in 53 and we rode what we had. And Ya I liked riding a chopper back in those days. Most of the guys that I rode with did.
Love the paint job! Just bought a 2013! Cant wait to tear up some streets!

Agree! I have a ducati streetfighter myself
Just brought one 2015 love it 😍
Enjoy and stay safe

Nice looking Sportster 🤟

all Sportsters: upgrade seat
Nice vid! What’s mic and camera do you use for your motovlogs?
In that video it was my sena tube for both audio and video.
I have a triumph scrambler 900. Was thinking on trading it in on the 48!??
Its a great bike but keep in mind that the technology on them is 20 years old and the engine more. And it is air cooled!
Can you provide link for the precut fork vinyl please. Amazing bike btw

The sissy bar is Burly, the head light and mirrors i got in Amazon.

I love my 48
Honestly after just 7 minutes into the video and you made want to run from this bike!
Hahaha! Its all good... its not for everyone... you dont like the idea of the bike or my mods?

I adjusted the preload on my 48. When I first got it, it was rough but after setting it to my body it was MUCH better!
You used to ride a hardtail for long trips?? Smart move Einstein

I hate my peanut tank
Instead of riding around and constantly blabbling about total nonsense how about getting off the bike and making a video staying to the point
Thank you for your constructive criticism sir... i will take into consideration your thoughts.
brandonidmarketing how about not being an A$$. There was nothing wrong with this video.
You should've bought something else 😑
Sean Spitler i did... checkout my other videos... ;) i had 3 bikes after this one.
