    This video is confusing at best. It shows a hodge-podge of rare and non-rare dates. The key is the grade, which is not discussed in any meaningful way. Any one of these is valuable in mint state. The coins shown are confusing, as they are all different grades and, in some cases, not the mint mark stated in the speech. Note the 20 s and 23 s in the video, not matching what was discussed. Very sloppy presentation.

    i remember trading a kid some pokemon cards for some of his dads "change" which turned out to be his dads coin collection and he had a silver penny in there which i thought was super cool. This was like 10 or 11 years ago and since i found out about the 1944 steel penny i have been looking everywhere for this coin. literally turning my room upside down. Theres 70 thousand bucks lying around in an old dusty jar or box of coins in someones room.

    • @c.j.573
      @c.j.573 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In G-8 condition I believe it showed the value as being $190- $210 I think I remember any 14d that's in good enough condition to see the date still is (below G-4) worth as much as what you paid for it back then. However coin values found in Books such as the "U.S. Blue Book for coins" 77th year in print aren't something I bank on. I'm always looking for the 1914D cent even though I own several, I watched the prices between November of 19 for a coin in V.G.-20 condition selling commonly in the $375- $475 range only to see the same condition coins selling for $125 - $200 less this month.
      Want real coin value ?
      Find a coin with the same grade as you'd like to own, then watch it and several others in eBay their actual selling prices.
      eBay is a much better place to purchase a coin than it was years ago BUT research the seller
      I'd love to see your Coin Troy, wish we could post pictures in TH-cam

      There is no fixed priced or value for any coin. Everything depends on the grade and the condition of the coin. The value of both your coins depends on their grades and conditions. There price you see at auction houses or on TH-cam are not real. It depends on wealthy people who compete for the coin. Are they for sale?

    • @yemengoto4905
      @yemengoto4905 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does your 1943-D copper penny looks almost new? To grade a coin, you have to send it to a grading company. It costs a lot of money to grade just one coin and it takes months for you to get the result. Any coin must have required grades of 67+, 68, 69 and 70 in order for it to be valuable. It is very difficult for an old coin to have these grades. You also have to complete forms for a grading company online, print and then mail your coin to them. I would like to know if you live in the USA because all those grading companies reside in the USA. It is a very tiresome process. Do you intend to sell your coin?

      It is not easy to sell a coin and there is no specific place to sell coins. You can sell your coins to anybody who is interested. To get to auction house, your coin must have required grades of 67+, 68, 69 and 70. It is very difficult for an old coin to have that grade. To grade a coin also costs a lot of money. Prices for coins you see on TH-cam and auction houses are not real. It is a bidding price where wealthy people determine the price of a coin. A coin that is sold at auction house for $50,000 can be purchased in any coins' store for $35 or even $25. Any coin that is graded has its face value; a penny. Grades below 67+ are not really valuable. Are your coins for sale? Let me know.

    This is really awesome. I appreciate it. If you live overseas, or go for a visit, there is usually an opportunity to visit coin shops with American coins, that the local inhabitants dont even look at. They will be happy if you come cherry picking. I'll give you one example. I recently purchased a muled wheatie, 1916 penny with a 1917 mercury dime. Its scratched up alright, and worn, and it could be some hoax. But once aunthenticated what do you think it would bring at auction? I routinely find coins over here in high grades that I couldn't possibly afford back in the states. It just might be worth the price of an airlines ticket, and a couple nights at a hotel, to visit and go shopping. Good luck, and thanks for sharing. Next time I visit my favorite coin shops its all about the pennies.

    When I first started a cent collection in 1956, I could have bought the 1909 S vdb for $50 at a local coin shop!

    In all of my years of living, I have never come within light years of "coming by" any of these coins. Wheat pennies existed when I was a boy and I'll find them minted in the 1960s, 1950's at best. But as time goes on, it's become near impossible to "come by" ANY American coin struck before the mid 1970s. Yeah, I'll be on the lookout of an Indian head coin struck just after reconstruction... It's bound to be out there, right?

      There's a great Facebook group called "Coin Roll Hunting". You can post there and see what others say. A lot of them are avid collectors and some own stores!

      A local coin or gol/ silver shop would be a start. I also look up prices of sold coins / banknotes on auction sites. I have a decent local coin shop that gives good info without baiting you into selling to them for a low price.
