    For every action there is a reaction and for every occupation there's a resistance - living by the gun on occupied land that belongs by right to someone else will forever be a very risky business!

    • @rt-uh6mt

      Gaza is not occupied. The West Bank is "occupied" but it wouldn't be if Jordan hadn't declared war on Israel, and then after losing the war launched hundreds of suicide bombing attacks from the West Bank. Israel is heavy handed in their security, and yeah, they cross the line sometimes. You would too if you lived next to people that wish to commit barbaric atrocities against you. It wasn't Israel that decided to go to war in 1967. Nor was it there decision in 1948 to go to war. The Arab states literally tried to commit genocide against Israel in those wars. Thankfully they lost, and lost miserably. The "Palestinians" were offered their own country but they declined because they were unwilling to share the land. That kind of makes them bigots. Don't it? Anyway, that was a big mistake, under international law, Israel has no obligation to give them any land at all. But in fact, they have offered them land.

    *Remember the U.S.S. Liberty !!! Israel's Navy and Air Force attacked the United States' ship Liberty, a technical research ship, which was sailing in international waters in the Mediterranean on June 8, 1967. Thirty-four American sailors died and over 170 American sailors were injured. Israeli war planes dropped napalm bombs on the ship, used iron-piercing ammunition, and even strafed the lifeboats the sailors had thrown over the side when the ship's commander ordered the ship to be abandoned. Israeli torpedo ships attacked the Liberty and one torpedo exploded, immediately killing twenty-five sailors. The ship was flying an American flag and was there to intercept information, which might have been 'inconvenient' for the Israelis. This was during the week of Israel's invasion of Egypt, Jordan and Syria in June 1967, known as the Six-Day War. President Johnson and McNamara covered this up and many parts of the information only recently became public. Johnson later called the tragedy an 'accident' because he was running for election and couldn't afford to aggravate the Zionist Lobby. We are only a convenience for Israel -- they like receiving our money and weapons -- otherwise, they have no more consideration for us than they do for the Palestinians.*

      You're not making any sense buddy. There is no doubt that Israel was the historical land of the Jews before it was disbanded by the Roman empire. As far as the history recorded in the bible, or Torah, that is irrelevant. The Torah is not a historically accurate document by any standards other than those with faith. The existence of Israel as Jewish state, on the other hand, is a historical documented fact. Why do you hate Jews so much? I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I'm happy to see the Jews return to their ancestral land. There's more going on than you realize, it is centuries of religious hatred started by the mass murdering, raping, pillaging, torturing "Prophet Mohamed" Peace Be Upon Him.

      He doesn't need support, that's the point, he is not a politician. He is simply expressing his objective opinions, and a good one at that. We should all learn from him and stop following, stop trying to fit in in some predefined group, and just be true to one self. specially young people of today, which I think he would call "owned"

    • @jessebaker3099
      @jessebaker3099 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Objective? With Vanity Fair as source he cites for his thesis that the USA planned and controlled the aftermath of the election Hamas won in 2006? Government is a nasty business, where we should not think the actions of US leaders above criticism. Yet Chomsky's burning hatred for the country which has given him lifetime tenure on a high salary at one of its best academic institutions astonishes me.
      I've never heard him propose an affirmative program to deal with the many problems of power and poverty in our world; cynical deconstruction is all we expect from Chomsky as he labels former US presidents as war criminals, not to mention his ridiculously inflated casualty counts.

    • @jessebaker3099
      @jessebaker3099 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aethion - It's not a matter of who is smarter. No doubt Chomsky would win that contest; indeed I would respect his expertise when it comes to linguistics or AI. But smart people can be wrong even on facts; and here we're dealing with political opinion anyhow.
      I don't have to play the game of finding Google search results to link to because I haven't made any claims of fact. In this video Chomsky accuses the United States of war crimes in Palestine. Therefore, he has the burden of proof.
      To be fair and clarify, Chomsky probably does not hate ordinary Americans and does not seem to have an anger-driven personality. What he hates is the US government, its presidents, its military staff, and the executives of its larger private corporations.
      However, I conceded that the US system is far from perfect and that being suspicious of government is often justified. We have no shortage of violence in our history. But I'm gonna challenge Chomsky and his Marxist friends to come up with something better. The one experiment to date in total rejection of capitalism in the world, the USSR, had far bloodier internal affairs than we've ever had.

      @@xzShsjmwnj What? That map shows the Jews getting a tiny portion of coastline (much of it being shared with the proposed arab state) then 70% of the proposed Jewish state is almost uninhabitable desert. How in the world does that map favour the jews? Not to mention that the piece "hilly, barren land" you claim has no use contains some of the most culturally significant landmarks and locations to both arabs and jews. Your argument and use of that map to support it is terribly flawed.
      "they thought it was their country and their land. They had fought off the Ottomans during WWI, put up with British rule for 30 years, and were finally getting 'freedom', why would they accept giving up half their country to a bunch of new, European settlers who had just moved there?"
      It doesn't matter if they THOUGHT the country was their land. That just means they are ignorant to the history of the land, or chose to ignore it's history. "Palestinian" arabs are not indigenous to that land. They are the results of several different civilizations who took that land by force, many of which expelled the people living there before them. One of those expelled groups just so happens to be the ancestors of the so called "European settlers" you referred to. This can all be backed up by both genetic and archaeological evidence.
      lawrenceschiffman.com/history-and-genetics-ashkenazic-jewry-in-the-rhineland/
      "historians have maintained that the Ashkenazic communities of medieval Franco-Germany (Hebrew: Ashkenazi) were developed as a result of a process by which Jews came from the Land of Israel to the boot of Italy, moved up further to the north of Italy, and then moved further up into areas that are now parts of northern France and Germany."
      www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3032072/
      "Four founder mitochondrial haplogroups of Middle Eastern origins comprise approximately 40% of the Ashkenazi Jewish genetic pool, whereas the remainder is comprised of other haplogroups, many of European origin and supporting the degree of admixture observed in the current study."
