Canon Camera Connect is the most frustrating app i have ever used to try to make a wireless connection. Been trying to connect my R7 for over one hour now. I managed to connect the bluetooth but when i want to use the app it wants me to connect via WiFi as well and it keeps failing
Same problem here, however, I've wasted hours, weeks and months on this. This seems to be a huge problem for many people. Why are there not more videos acknowledging this? Seems very fishy...

Thank you for explaining how to connect via bluetooth. I'm having problems connecting a second device via bluetooth. Bluetooth is turned off on my first device. The camera "pairing" is grayed out when trying to pair my second device. Do I have to reset the camera each time to pair a different device?
Thanks for sharing this tutorial. Unfortunately the Canon app (on android) has a lots of limitation. For example there is no histogram?! Also has a limited settings especially during the video mode.
Hey, This is a Blessing!! I used to use an app called Aircam that worked floorlessly. Until they sold it to Apple and they changed it. Since then I've been searching for an app. where at events I can show off the photos and send them to clients in real time. I'm not sure if I can do this, but I'm closer than before. Question; Is there a way to designate the photo I take to a folder on my phone?

My R works as it should, but my R5 will not connect. I deleted and attempted to re-establish a connection, but still will not connect. I attempted connect with an Android devices and and iPad. They previously connected with the previous version of Canon Connect. This really sucks, especially because I primarily use the R5.
My problem before this video is the app updated its UI by alot so I could not connect with the wifi options that I previously had done. I will give Bluetooth a try after watching this. Thanks?
The irony is that the app UI was updated immediately after I published the video. Bad luck for me, but the process is very similar. Please come back with feedback after you try the Bluetooth method.

I can't get passed 2:21. The app on my phone says it's connected to the network, and right below it says "Detects the camera when connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera. And then nothing. I can either go back or close to try and register the camera again. The camera says "Start dedicated app on the smartphone" and shows a single "Cancel" button. I've uninstalled the app on my phone twice (this is my first time using it), and reset the WiFi settings on the camera about 12 times now. Still exactly the same every time. Can someone PLEASE help me get passed this dead end?
but it freezes if you press the shutter half way to focus and hold it. Why isnt there a method to film the viewfinder without lag and all the settings on display for tutorials...
Canon camera bodies are notoriously horribly slow when transferring images wirelessly, almost to the point of unusable. Like the old (real) photography days, be prepared to remove your memory card and copy your images that way, unless you don't value your time.
Mine still laggy and idk why it turns off my camera screen while using the shooting mode on phone, i would like to use my phone as a controller and look on the camera screen for everything
with all due respect, but Canon Camera app is the crappiest I have ever seen, it's like it was created in someone's back garden shed, it has zero features, I don't know why they bothered to create such a useless app, you can't even start and stop video recordings, all you can do is take pictures and use the zoom, unable to do anything else. I know you are not a Canon representative but, just to state how frustrating it is, the most ridiculous app I have ever known.
