I took the 395 from St Pancras to Stratford International back in 2014 and the acceleration was astonishingly quick, something I did expect from a train with the genes of a "Shinkansen".
And of course, the Class 395 also marks as the first Japanese Class of British Trains anywhere in the network.
they where even quicker when they where doing the preview service but they got told to stop it as it was making the parts wear out quicker, but it was fun when it accelerated it pushed you back into your seat like planes do on take off.

The speed is consistent. Which means that most of the time this train goes on high speed. Which means on time arrival
Amazing-looking and sounding trains. I also noticed that, due to fact Hitachi make them, the motors they use sound *somewhat* similar to those of an upgraded Class 465 (the upgrade being Hitachi motors.)

Sure HST are old and needed replacing but the 80x are a terrible replacement. If you want a good modern InterCity train look at the 745s on Anglia

How i wish my regional/comuter train look beautiful and fast like this in malaysia 😅🤣🙌,with dedicated new heavy duty fast speed true line for this train i believe it can go always faster then the 140 miles speed for operational speed

South Western Railway High speed could have only a couple of 395s as a replacement for their aging 442
Why dont these trains have first class
This train is classed as a premium service as it operates on HS1, so the passengers get charged a little bit more than the standard fare. The mad thing is that if you are travelling on another rail network outside London (GWR or Southern for example) then you can use this service at no extra cost.
@@richmayes8451 yes but you are going 140mph not 125mph also some thing has to pay for HS1, And an upgrade ticket from London St pancreas to SE kent is only £6 to upgrade so its nothing.
@@Cyborgdelta1 I remember in the early days where a lot of people said they would not pay for the upgrade. I would pay the premium to use this service almost all of the time to or from Sittingbourne as it was so easy to get a seat, where the trains, especially from Victoria could quite often be standing room only. Also, I would be travelling somewhere like Stevenage or Milton Keynes so didn't have to pay extra for the HS service and at St Pancras, it was much easier to transfer. Since the 2012 Olympics and the opening of the Westfields Shopping Centre at Stratford, the number of passengers for the High-Speed service has been increasing and the number of passengers from Victoria had fallen off a bit, making it easier to get a seat. Also since the introduction of the rounder services, the 08 past the hour service at Sittingbourne can already be fairly packed where the 38 past starting from Faversham would be practically empty.
This was all pre-Covid of course.

It's not a diesel train. Class 395 is a dual voltage train that can run on electrified third rail (750 v) and overhead line (25 kV) hence why in some part of the video you cant see overhead line (and yes I use Google translate)

教育水準、技術水準の低いイギリスでは、単独でこのシステムを運営するのは、かなりコストがかかり長期間の鉄道運営は難しい。2.5ｋｖ架線方式と750ｖ3条軌方式の2種類の集電方式を持つクラス395も複雑すぎてメンテナンスは、負担がかかりすぎる。
速急にインフラストラクチャ―側の規格統一が必要だろう。

@@13ichirouyuukijun15 知ったかぶりで海外に向けてイキるのハズいからやめれ。規格は日本の方がよっぽどバラバラ。電化方式もJRだけでも交直新在合わせて5種類もある。そして最悪なことにレール幅が統一されていない。ミニ新幹線だったり、青函三線軌条だったり、長年フリーゲージトレインの開発に投じた成果が何もなかったり、クソ面倒なことになってる。電化設備の容量は日本でも発生している問題。変電所キラーEF200は本気で力行できないまま廃車になったし、小浜線で気動車より遅い加速度で電車走らせたり、サンライズの琴平乗り入れ時に電気譲るために土讃線の普通をディーゼルに振り替えたりしてる。それに当初Class800が投入されたのは新規に電化されたGWRだから電化区間でディーゼルモードを多用していたのは容量不足ではない。初期の頃はClass800の信頼性の低さも架線化ディーゼルの原因だった。ECMLの一部区間でIC225時代の想定から電化設備の容量が小さい区間があるからそこだけ一部バイモード車がディーゼルモードで走っているのは事実だけど、電化設備を強化するまでそうやって切り抜けられるのはむしろバイモードを活かした使い方。
