Now that it's been on for a while, how is it holding up? Have you had to retighten it at all? I've heard stories of them falling off but could be that they weren't installed properly.
I have a Scout 175 with a 90 Yamaha. I have to go 2 miles in a slow speed area and the bow of my boat lifts and I get low mileage at slow speed. Do you think this hydrofoil would help cut bow lift from 5 to 8 MPH? We are 2 big people and have weight in back of the boat as well.
@alexanderscott2567 YES... They both do the same thing....BUT the the tabs are used a lot less now(mostly to correct a port or starboard tilt due to load) The foil keeps the nose down and helps plane the vessel without the drag the tabs create. I found it's gives me better MPG and better handling. Just in my experience on this boat. Not a massive difference from just having the tabs, but I notice it and would do it again. PLUS this is only a 20 ft boat with a 14" setback jack plate and a heavy new 200 hp 4 stroke suzuki. I probably would not see as much benefit on a 24 ft boat.
Thanks for the review. I'm surprised you felt you needed one when you already have trim tabs on the boat.
Trim tabs are a must but the Hydro did improve plaining and the ride a bit. thx for watching

@johnvrabel8814 no...it's been holding up well....but I came back a few weeks later and tightened the bolts just in case
Thxs for the video. My luck I would have dropped something in the water...
Yes I know that luck, but I did it anyway and got lucky
Good job nothing went in the water
Lol....thx

Trim tabs and hydofoil! I'm a two pairs of underpants man myself.
