      Suprman, I have the Albion Atlantean as well. After about 20 years or more I also have some very minor spots, not nearly as bad as seen in this vid. Yes, I periodically oiled it. I suppose dust landing on the oil was the culprit. I might try this method. By the looks of it, the 320 grit is the secret to preserving the grain of the blade. Did you try it yet? I'd like to hear your experience.

    Hi Buddy, pretty good job on this ATLANTEAN blade. You are right to mention that the blade will rust if stored in the original wooen box, where the leather is near the tip. I got an Atlantean and store it out of the box. - Very cool to seeyou polishing with that 320 Grid sand paper , interesting! Cheers, Erik

      I guess they started doing the swords differently the box mine came in of course I got number four it didn't have any leather other than just around the grip didn't have any around the blade or anything like that I've had it stored in the original box I guess 15 years or more I guess. I do get it out in oil and every now and then of course the first blades were made of different metal than the ones later on. When I got the atlantean the blades were made out of 5160 spring steel. Cool sword though always wanted it, Cobb did a great job design it as far as looks go.

    Its interesting my atlantean didn't have the leather lining in the box. I got it when they were first being made. Number 4. Its made from 5160 spring steel. No rust even to this day 23 years later. Ive kept it oiled but its been in the original box for the whole time other than me getting it out to oul the blade. The father sword does have the leather lining in rhe box but i store the sword above laying on the wood like the atlantean.

    If you've ever actually seen one of the Albions (Fathers or Atlantian) you'll never waste your time or money on one of the repros. The Albions are milled steel. There's no other way to get that unique blade shape.

    • @mccglastron1972
      @mccglastron1972 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @drumsanddrumming8289 - I'm not sure you're correct... The Albion's are the top of line for sure... But most of us cannot drop $4k on an awesome decoration. Windlass in India also make exact licensed replicas... Hand forged 1080 high carbon steel full tang and properly heat treated and the bronze pieces made from the same original molds as Albion's. Not as good, but $425. I would love to get both swords from Albion... They are also the only one that make the Mother's sword. I recently discovered all this and turns out Albion is only 1hr from where I live... but I cannot afford them. I wouldn't go any lower then the Windlass... Unless you don't care and it's close enough for you, lol. But If I remember Marto in Spain originally got the license Deal and they make replicas exact but Stainless so you don't have to deal with maintenance for the wall hanger. Windlass bought Marto and makes the functional carbon steel version both for $425. Albion's are the shit... And if I remember deeper engraving on the blade, but it's rich people level, lol.
