I think it's a great pity that Russ wasn't seen off again live on TV in front of the whole world at the end of the final. Yes, they paid tribute to him beforehand, but I think that after such a long career, they should have let him say a few last words at the end of the award ceremony. The man practically made me watch darts. I am very sad that he is retiring, he will leave a very big gap. Dear Russ, I wish you all the best for your future, especially health. You are darts for me, you are a legend, I will miss you, darts will not be the same as it was with you. All the best from Germany 🥲👋
There's nothing to suggest they didn't offer him the opportunity and he turned it down. He seems a humble guy and didn't want the final to about him I suppose

This man is an example to our young people, not just the darts, he said one thing that stood out for me, when he said i did loads of different jobs in my life, but i was never out of work. Russ was the best in dart scorers, we will miss that 180 rough voice, it is his shout that makes the 180 more special. Russ good luck in retirement, but i can not see Russ being very far away in the future.

I starting watch darts about 15 years ago aged 14. I was just flicking through channels up late on tv (here in Australia it’s on around midnight) and I fell in love with the sport and Russ Bray was calling then and it was such a great atmosphere and his voice was so unique. It won’t be the same. Enjoy your retirement much respect from Australia 🇦🇺 👏
Russ Bray really should have been recognised in the New Years Honours List for services to Darts.

Great caller, great carrer and a great person as it seems. He was there over the last 30 years when the big ones clashed. He made the 180 popular and was there during developement of the sport. Wish you all the best, hopefully hear from you again some time and have a nice retirement.😊👍

Following darts since 1995 (BDO side with v. Barneveld). Therafter completely overwhelmed by the PDC with the legend Phil Taylor.
The PDC has some very great callers but still I'm gonna miss Russ. Take care!
