      Class 66. Not sure what else they will do. But it would be cool if Marklin stepped out of the German range a little

      Same. I hope the do other variations of Flying Scotsman, especially the LNER double tender version. That’d sell like hotcakes.

      It would be very interesting to see if and when Märklin/Trix would produce more English Steam Locomotives (initially). I appreciate that Europe might be a bigger market, but they are definitely missing quite a few customers by not doing so.

    I like how Trix/Marklin made Flying Scotsman with such high detail, while Hornby they like keeping their models of it so basic....

      I like both versions. Just wish for the amount of money I pay in hornby they at least have sound.

    gorgeous model for a niche scale at least for britain, we need more ho stuff for uk railroads since oo is too large for the track gauge and doesnt match up with any other country stuff of the scale. id totally buy one if the prices wasnt so ludicrously high though i love the feature of the corridor in the tender being lit

    • @DSnMRailways

      It is honestly is around the same price for literally any steam locomotive with sound, functions, diecast brass, and smoke. Its average price for tender engines. Even if you compare smaller German locomotives. It’s still roughly the same.

    • @doge_sevens

      @donniestrains3905 that makes me think how good we have it with North American engines then lol, you can get a brass hybrid broadway limited which is nearly twice as large for about that price with about the same features

    • @DSnMRailways

      @@doge_sevens I mean it depends. this is a generation type locomotive. you gotta think of that too. Its the flying scotsman an engine thats been around for literally over a century. So, there's the price in that. but i see what you are saying.

    • @doge_sevens

      @donniestrains3905 that is true but the a3s are relatively simple externally, so the main thing you pay for is the price of the name flying scotsman given she's so popular and iconic, still a gorgeous model and I will be picking one up if I find one at a good price

    Does Trix/Märklin then do UK HO carriages, I thought that wasn't possible as in the UK are usually 00 which are slightly bigger than HO

    • @DSnMRailways

    Great review! Quick question, does your "test" layout have any 45 degree curves? Wondering if this will run on those at all.

    • @DSnMRailways

      I sadly do not know what radius that is. I am American we go by inches on curves

    • @justdafty

      Haha, American here, too. I'm quite new to the hobby, but it's considered an "R0" curve by Marklin, which is the version I plan on getting.

    • @DSnMRailways

      To make it easier since you are american. just get any curve above 22" radius. as long as you have room. Preferably, 24 radius and up @@justdafty

      @@FockeWolf100 you're missing the point. This is a way for H0 collectors to finally get some British outline rolling stock that will match their scale. 00 is not really a thing outside the UK. Of course coaches would be nice, but it doesn't matter that much.
