That's what's so amazing about Haikyuu... you go from knowing absolutely nothing about a character, and in just a few minutes it makes you absolutely love them.
Kita is a real one. He's realistic about his ability and takes command in a different way than Oikawa. He's a fan favorite for a reason. He has so many good gems and lines in just this one game. He makes every second count.
Kita was subbed for Aran so Aran could rest. Karasuno's strategy was to wear Aran down and not give him a break. With Inarizaki's ace in check like that, it narrows down who Karasuno has to be wary about attacking. With the best hitter getting tired or being out for significant period of time, Inarizaki becomes more prone to mistakes as shown before Kita came in. Kita being the captain lights a fire under the asses of the Inarizaki players with Rinataro Suna's explanation.
just FYI, Kita's Granma’s words, 'The gods are everywhere' is an ancient way of thinking in Japan that we feel God everywhere around us, which came from Shintoism. It is believed that there are 8 million gods watching people so that we can't do anything wrong. Also it is frequently said ‘the sun is always watching us (so we should do only right things)’. Kita is actually a great boy😄
About subbing Aran for Kita: Inarizaki did that when Aran rotated to the back. Aran can do back attacks, but it's harder, and also Karasuno could try to focus their serves on Aran to make it harder for him to spike after receiving the ball. This way, Inarizaki has a super consisten player receiving, as well as their libero and Osamu. Then, in the front, they have Omimi as middle blocker, Atsumu and Ginjima as wing spiker. Definitely not their best spiking rotation, but a really good one in terms of defending. Also, after the point, the next rotation would move Omimi to the serving position and Suna swaps with the libero and get's to the front row, improving their attack a lot while still having Kita as a receiver specialist in the back in this rotation without libero. Also, as they tell in the show, the second years tend to lose focus when they're ahead on the score, or also get nervous when they could potentially lose, and Kita is great at making them focus. Also, they were probably going to win this set, but it was important to win it in a way they would impact Karasuno the most and conserve the momentum as much as possible. And, sometimes, it's just a good idea to try to change the strategy, either to adapt to the rival strategy, to change the flow, or both. In volleyball, if you don't adapt in a game against players that are on a similar level than yours, you're left behind, so that's pretty important. Haikyuu does a great work at showcasing that, even though sometimes it is pretty subtle, but the teams are constantly changing their rotations or adapting their strategies to the other team.
Another fun watch.🎵 Kita is such a likeable chara. I always start tearing up at 6:12~.😭 Someone watched & noticed him, just like grandma always said! & I found it really funny how at 6:47, Atsumu is brought up as the representative of a "child".😆 There were some wonky subs (including 1 mistranslation) in this ep, too, so gonna leave my personal opinions about the ones left in this vid: 2:35 「ブレークされた事もそうなんだけど…」→ "They got the break point,". This should be more like "Not only did they (Inarizaki) get the break point (off us)". Their translation is misleading because it seems like Shimizu is saying that Karasuno got the break point here because it's followed right after with "but". 3:30 「中学で活躍しとっても、高校じゃ簡単に出られんちゅう事やろぉ"→ "Which means even if he played in middle school, he didn't have much of a chance to play in high school". This is OK, but the more literal translation would be something like "I'd guess that it basically means that even if you were playing an active part in games during middle school, it's still not easy to get to play when it comes to playing in high school".
Best boy Kita, a character that you fall in love with after 10 minutes of screen time. 😂 As a character, Kita is the best, but he's only my #3 favorite character. Nobody can replace Kenma at #1, and the Hinata's development as a volleyball player in season 4 is too great to not be at #2.
I think there is something missing or mistransleted in the anime, can someone that read the manga confirm? Kita's introduction paints him as "not being impressive" or "not being one of the top players" but that is not true. He is just way more of a deffensive player that's all. If you compare him to a libero or a Daichi you can say he is VERY impressive and a great player. Also they do select him as the captain so there is something impressive about him. Maybe they are talking about the fact that he is not that good when it comes to offense? Or there is something else missing from the manga?
@@demonsbreath5861 Maybe there's further explanation: this is Kita's third year, so maybe this was the year he got this level of consistency on volleyball. Being an average player that isn't consistent wouldn't be that useful in a powerhouse team, however, being an above average player that is extremely consistent is definitely useful. Also, he being a 3rd year makes it easier for him to make the rest of the team listen to him (probably mostly because of how the japanese people act towars their upperclassmen)
@@blazcraz6992 Uniforms are usually only distributed to those who would be on court (starters & bench players). If you'd recall, Kageyama was telling Hinata that he should be grateful that he's actually getting a uniform when he's only a 1st yr when Hinata complained about his # (sn1). Kita probably was never given a uniform because he never made the roster, not because of some intentional "dick move". I'm sure everyone on the team were issued team jackets.
imo, kita wasn't playin that much bcs when kita's on the court anyone on the team gets intense, so basically everyone playing safe pattern attack bcs they scared messing up when kita's on the court, while kita's not on the court inarizaki can play variety of attack that they're not usin on practice (example : twin's quick minus tempo). and we all know miya's twin strong weapon is their unexpected attack, and they can't do it while kita's on the court. that's the reason why kita's not playin that much while he's the best defender player in inarizaki bcs the pressure he gives to his teammates.
Another one fell in love with Shinsuke 🥹🥹 its sooo true that haikyuu always make characters that we love and care about and its soo true that we feel happy and sorry about all of them 💔 im still not over Aoba Jhosai loss 😞

I like Shinsuke Kita the most among Haikyu. He is a very wonderful person. He does not neglect his efforts and continuity.
Kita is such a sweet character, the way he showed well being for Atsamu was so cute
i love kita so much. as japanese, i really respect his way of thinking
Shinsuke is my favorite team captain in the entire series [and manga]. In this episode he just won me over. 😊
Also that strange way Kita wears his coat like a cape. That's because the resident robot of Inarizaki hates static electricity so god damn much.

6:47Atsum is kid😂😂😂
I felt bad for kita for not being able to play for 2 years. But I still don't get it why they didn't let him play?
Bcz there are better players than him on the team and when team is falling apart he gets on the court to whip them into shape
