    let me just say you are a lifesaver i ruined two rings my boyfriend got me with nair on accident and they were black and brown from it, literally did exactly what you said and they are back to silver thank you so much

    I use this technique on all the silver in my house (I ain’t rich but I don’t like gold so silver it is lol) and I will vouch for this.
    I never used salt though, I guess that might speed up the process. But this actually works very very very well.
    If anyone is curious about the chemistry behind it, tarnish is Silver Sulfide. The baking soda acts as a catalyst to convert silver sulfide into pure silver and sulfate. The sulfate evaporates into the air, and boom. You’re left with pure silver again.
    It’s better than just scrubbing away perfectly good silver.

    This video just saved all of my rings. They all just discoloured from a hair colour remover. I forgot to take off my rings. It worked in 30 seconds. I can't thank you enough. I was going to cry

    I know someone out there is looking up how to fix your jewlery after using Nair and I can vouch all my good pandora rings turned completely brown and I did this with three 10 minute soaks and scrubs and they’re 95% back to how they were🙏🏽

    This worked. Not perfectly but it was a significant improvement.
    I have a gold necklace with semi-precious stones that has silver around the tiny diamonds and it was almost black. The matching bracelet had not tarnished. After using this, the necklace now matches the bracelet.

    Omg it works i relaxed my hair with my silver jewelry on without knowing what would happen. They rust or turned a gold color i was so upset because it was 3 rings and a necklace. I was hopeless then found this video and was skeptical and saw the color changed before my eyes. Thank you

    This worked great I forgot to take my ring off before going swimming and the chlorine started tearing my ring apart but I found this video and I tried it and my ring now looks new thanks for sharing

    Worked really well: my glass bowl lined with foil was a good size for my neck bangle as well as the chains and rings. This method cleaned them all, taking away some serious tarnish. Polished with a ‘Koi’ glass cloth✔️

    I had a pendant that I purchased which was oxidized as part of the design but I never wore it as I'd have preferred it to have been bright sterling silver.
    Just did this and Bingo! 10 mins later bye bye ugly black pendant😊

    It works and it’s dummy proof and tbh it’s no specific way to turn the aluminum foil for me at least

    This isnt reversing it, it's cleaning it. Reversing would be making it so there's no loss of material.

      There is no lose of materiel , it turns the silver oxide back into silver , this does not remove any of the base metal silver at all

    is it bad for the silver to leave it in for longer than 10-15 mins, e.g over night, because im assuming the longer it's left in it'll be cleaner (to an extent) but i don't want any of my silver to get damaged from making an assumption

      Do not add vinegar, vinegar oxidizes silver.

      Im chemistry, aluminium is higher in the reactivity series than silver. Since its more reactive than silver, it displaces the silver (correct me if im wrong)

    You missed the actual demo. You have to first show people what the BEFORE status of the jewelry is. And after your demo, you show the AFTER status of the jewelry. How can you do a presentation and omit the very basic.

    Please don't use salt. You don't have to use salt for this. I had always cleaned my jewelry this way for years but never put salt.

      All it does is being the elcrtolyte for the battery used. Because what you create as shown in the video is actually a battery. The ion flux of it plays a big role in what is going on here. That cell will have somehwere around 1,5V. It should be a little bit over that.
