nice idea , the only thing i would change are the pieces that make the sissor itself ,
wouldve made them from U profile as theres a big chance of them bending sideways when expanded
This type thing would have been better than the typical dry wall stilts back when I was a drywall finisher.

For your next video you should do a Tour of your shop or a tour of all your tools and what welder do you have or recommend for a beginner. Your awesome.

ellboy667 Haha that’s how I discovered this video. I’m short and fed up with standing behind tall people at gigs. So I googled whether this type of shoe exists. Maybe I shoukd just get some really chunky platform shows that lift me up to 6ft. Any more would look suspicious! And i’d probably fall over 😂

The guys that did our gutters had stilt like things that strapped onto their legs. It made them roughly 9' tall. They were able to just walk around with the gutters just above eye level. No ladders needed, they just walked around with the roof & gutters right in reach. They were very quick & efficient except they were not adjustable. They had to use their truck to get up & down & they had someone to hand stuff to them. If these had better support & strapped to the lower leg better, they would be genuinely useful.

How about a motorised version of this same design? Probably using a geared motor so it rises slowly with nonslip material underneath to prevent falling off it?
its a pretty good idea actually.... dont have to lug or store a huge ladder if you only need a foot or two

Blade guard is not present on that angle grinder, with no gloves. Others have surely mentioned it, but we do want to keep beginners and others working safely.
These are pretty cool, although the shoe on the bottom would make better for the illusion

This is awesome! I need something small like this that can go up to 8' to help raise a folding roof.
What a great video, knowledge, skills, sparks and entertainment all in one video, and some tunes to go with it.
It would be kool with 2 or 3 different hight options. Then when going up or down you could do it in steps and be safer, ie not jumping 3 feet at a time. Maybe adding notches or lock outs to the slide at the bottom... just an idea. Nice work thought.
very cool work done here... but a cheap step ladder would be faster to use.. But serious building skills for sure...

What an elevation!
Loading a heavy tool box into the back of a pick up truck is very difficult for one person
How about making a large tool box with its own loading device that can load it from ground level into the back of the
Pick up truck ,then retract the loading device so you can unload the tool box at another location
The loading device and tool box would have to be integrated and perhaps driven by a battery powered drill

I like the concept, and despite its silliness it looks like they work pretty well. My question, though, is why you used TIG with no filler rod everywhere. It's a viable technique, sure, but usually only for sheet metal that isn't under much stress.

Guess you must tight up the rear spindle bearing on your lathe- when you drill a hole, the spingle moves toward the headstock. By the way, I think that is a Russian lathe, something like 16K20 or 16K25 or 1K62, am I right?

dumb question: What are those cylinders at the bottom? How does the cable actuator work? how do they control to release the motion? Where can I find one? I would like to build something similar, but add a damper/dashpot to slow down the rate of rise to be more controlled. Thanks!
