Still waiting for the release of the vital specs of the Quattro-15 to plan/build my lightweight bugout gun. And someday maybe be able to get an A2 if the Desert Tech gods ever decide to make a left-hand version... In the meantime, I'll just enjoy my MDRX with custom M118LR chambered barrel.
So it actually uses a linear hammer system. With the floating firing pin👍 Its at least what I have learned as the difference between striker and linear hammer. Since it strikes the firing pin and its not part of the striker it self😁
why not just a semi auto then? why not just the MDR then? straight pull action *can* be fast, but it also tends to bind more, especially with high pressure rounds with tight chamber tolerances. this doesn't lend itself well to regaining target picture. What's the added speed worth if you have to spend that time and more resetting your holdover? most all of the straight pulls ever made were not for settling into longer shots, they were for fast follow up shots at short distance, like warfighting in the k31, or driven hogs or rabbits for those fancy European rifles. Which therefore again begs the question, why not the MDR at that point? the only reason modern straight pulls are mostly a euro affair is because of euro laws banning "assault weapons". they would LOVE to do their driven hunts with an AR if it were legal.
@@DesertTechUT unfortunate, operating rh bolt actions is a pain for me as I have to break my stock elevation position to cycle the bolt, I really liked the srs.
Can we please get one of these videos for the HTI Bolt?

Great video! Great design!
What size bolt face would be for 30-06
What's the difference between the new bolt finish with the old one?
Does it worth the upgrade?
So the bolt face doesn’t have to be caliber specific? It’s just the three sizes that each facilitate multiple similar-sized cartridges?
Those three sizes accommodate most precision rifle cartridges .

It'd be nice to see the day when DT will finally build a straight pull bolt action 🤘

How do you switch to left hand? Or do you need to get a seperate bolt meant for lefthand operation
Its actually a little bit of a process, you use the same movements you would have done with your left hand, but use the right hand instead.
@@DesertTechUT I meant do you make this rifle for left hand shooters
@@snakeeyes20a we do not

@@snakeeyes20a yes, we hear that frequently. But nobody bought the left-handed models we made them, so we discontinued them.
Is there a difference in the srs a1 and a2 bolts?
Yes
