How many people can claim to have stood in the middle of the Pacific ocean and ate hand made cheese you happened to make when you popped to NZ ! Beautiful!!!👍❤️👍
Your captivating journey in 'We Sailed To The Most Isolated Place On Earth / Sailing To Fiji' is incredibly inspiring. Your storytelling prowess and the breathtaking visuals truly transport viewers into the heart of your adventure. Your passion for exploration and discovery shines brightly And I am Floating Village Life
So our tip for stopping the rolling when goose winging is to also put your stay sail up but have it sheeted in as tight as possible, this then forms a damping effect for the rolling. A bit late for this trip but maybe in the future
Yes longer vids boys, don't worry about editing too much you don't even have to give us much commentary your ocean sailing, your photography and your fine yacht will give us great watching.
It’s amazing to think you can walk in the middle of the pacific. Knowing it’s thousands of feet deep all around you. Looking forward to you getting to Fiji. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Planing hulls go downwind with the zig-zag method, and a big sail up front, because they more than make up for the extra distance by being able to plane on a broad reach. As you noted, this is not the case for a displacement hull like yours. Keep up the good videos, I personally appreciate the compact format better than longer videos! 😎
This is what a couple of people have said too. I think we will stick with going directly downwind less we win the lottery and buy a modern flat bottom boat ⛵
Our family enjoys your sailing vids so much can’t wait for the next one ! I love watching what meals you’re making out there 😅 hope you made it to Fiji safe 🙏🏻
Another great video. Looking at the chart and seeing you both standing on the reef really illustrates that you are on your own out there and a long way from help. Safe sailing - I bet you are enjoying Fiji. Went there many years ago and loved it.
Another nail bitting climax video. Best scene was Luke the Duke saying I'm not staying in the water long then jumps in first only to have beloved little brother jump in afterwards. Great drama I was on the edge of my seat thinking Adam was going to be eaten. Great job boys thanks for another great video- rick
at timestamp 18:00, I noted that your reefing lines were run under the boom. Since you now have a loose-footed main, you should run those lines around the foot of the main above the boom to prevent the sail possibly being torn at the reefing eyes. Cheers!
I hope you get a lazy bag, so much easier, that sail would drop well into one with the full battens. Get one with a flap to cover the zip, they perish in the sun, mine just did.
Great update, well done lads. Re the bags. Could be that if you didn't try to remove all the air when you filled them in NZ, before putting the cap on, the air in the bag will have expanded as you moved North to a warmer climate. Expanded and popped the seams. Haven't looked to see if this has been covered by others comments.
Hello, Good Evening They have really done an excellent job. Iwas recognizing the Minerva South reef a little in the nautical chart, this reef is prettier than its northern brother. Anyway, as always I wish you good fortune and good enjoyment. Shout out to the British Mad & Mad Brothers, they deserve it. Good Luck. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi guys, just want to give you a big shoutout. My dad is currently battling lung cancer and he is stuck in bed. He’s watches all of you videos and I think they really help him take his mind off of things and pass the time, he loves the vibe and honesty of the videos! If there’s anyway you guys could give him a shoutout in one of the videos soon? His name is Neil. Absolutely understand if not but always worth an ask! Safe travels guys!
Another inspiring video! Thanks, guys. Video rolling, a Murghy infested shirt donning, and Adam just goes with it. You guys are real! Love the humor, the light heartedness, and the adventure we get experience with you. Sail onward!!!
Thought you were about to be swept off that reef for a second 🥴. I think you may actually be up for the quickest entry and exit in shark 🦈 infested waters award 😂😂. Another cracking watch.
I think you should superimpose the British Isles on each of your descriptive maps/charts, I believe your viewers and myself would find it helpful generally.
Wow Luke, Bob Ross would be proud of your amazing drawing skills! Adam.... well my friend.... uuuhhhh.... you do good things too. I know sometimes learning new skills can be difficult and learning to dress one's self isn't the easiest thing but you'll get it sorted! 👍 Pssst, Luke, it's probably not the best thing to let'm try to use the knives. Just saying... 😂
I’m sure you have tried it, to stop / reduce the rolling when you are running, have you tried setting the staysail but make it off in the centre with both sheets
A long keeled hull like yours will be more comfortable downwind than a fin keeled yacht so the choice is more depended on design. Surfing a pocket maxi on the way back from Hobart we were lock to lock on every wave, 20 mins on wheel maximum and you’re stuffed.
Whenever you have your t towelss drying on Atlas they always remind me when we was in Talacre North Wales, we was on holiday and I went to the site shop to get a couple they are exactly the same as yours, when I got back I said to the Mrs I have got some Boyo towels, a couple of days later the Mrs went to the shop to get a couple more, she asked the chap in the shop for a couple of Boyo towels, the chap said what you on about, she explained I had bought a couple a few days before and said I told her they was Boyo towels, he said is he a prat the wife said yes, he did laugh when I explained to him, but them T towels on Atlas always remind me of our visit to North Wales.
Still laughing about the last scene with Adam being stuck in the arm part of his t-shirt! Comedy-Gold :D The south Minerva Reef looks really pretty and you guys apparently had a blast walking around. Good passage to Fiji - can't wait to see more :))
Fantastic video as always even more jealous now watching you as my sailing boat isn’t ready yet. Adam what are you like putting your top on. Safe sailing steve
How’s the current to get inside the atol, how critical did you have to time your entrance with the tide? Yes, besides having a great time enjoying the excellent footage of you two, I’m trying to learn a bit as well! Have a delicious time, guys! 🧀🧀
Don't know why, but I found you standing on the reef with those waves rolling in really unnerving. Amazing place though, strange it seemed devoid of life, plant or other.
I think tacking downwind works well in lighter winds or in modern boats with planing hulls and smaller headsails. Also pity the poor buggers who ran into that reef centuries ago and ended up knee deep.... alive, but not for long 😢
It didn't really work for us being a older yacht design I guess. We have two head sales for flying downwind anyway. These reefs can be very dangerous 😱
Amazing video of the water at the reefs. I have a question. What microphone do you use cos you don't get anything like the wind noise I get. Cheers and Happy Sailing from the Valleys but at the moment in Ireland in my motorhome. Michael
Dead right about sailing on a broad reach and gybing. It’s faster and more comfortable. You should have stuck with it. Maybe not all boats act the same way.
We worked it out and it would have been but extra 100 miles or so so we decided to head directly downwind. Maybe if we had a faster more modern yacht ⛵
It wasn't a joke: I was serious. All your gallivanting around the world is pointless unless you have any true meaning to your life except pure stinking Hedonism. Stay there and ask yourself what is the reason you are alive. What purpose do you have except selfishness and pleasing yourself.
Who wants longer vids from these boys...
Half hour vids?
Makes my Sunday evenings watching you guys.
Best sailing channel on TH-cam. & you’re not trying to sell me a green drink or a VPN.
⛵️🧀😎
Best on TH-cam hey 😎, we are blushing now 🤭 no silly advertisements on this channel

No one apart from the sailing Brothers 😁
Loved this one we are still with you, even though a bit behind. Debbie and David. ❤️
You are certainly catching up 😁
"and I draw on some paper!" excellent :) you're off to a good start!
Thank you so much 😀 🤣🤣
Yea you got the cheese!!

That's a great idea! Thank you very much 🙏
Marvelous! The reef...standing there, in the middle of nowhere. I really felt like I was there. I could taste the cheese in my mouth.
Such a magical place especially with your favorite food 🧀
Terrific sail💕
⛵👊
Wow that Reef was fascinating. I never knew there were places like that in the middle of the ocean . Great video lads xx
We never knew either until we started cruising ⛵
Awesome
😃
Yes longer vids boys, don't worry about editing too much you don't even have to give us much commentary your ocean sailing, your photography and your fine yacht will give us great watching.
Deal! 😁🤝

It really is one of those magical places 😍

Brilliant as always. The Minerva reef looks amazing but it scares me . All the best xx
Such an incredible place 😍
Wow! Homemade cheese and downwind sailing. Gotta love it all 🤗
The best! 😁
Well done guys.
Great video.
Thanks so much!

I always tell people it’s one of the best channels on TH-cam now I can tell them you walk on water.
I guess that makes us Jesus 😭😭
awesome boys

It's such an incredible place very Baron incredible place. Fiji is also incredible 😍
Oh wow what a sacred place how majestic you both are in heaven right now! Amazing!
One of the best places on Earth 🌍
What a terrific episode, the Reef was amazing and a block of Cheese too!
We could live on the reefs eating cheese 🧀😁
@@TheSailingBrothers That would be Awesome! 😃
Amazing sailing and delicious home made cheese. You guys really are living the dream.
Cheese and reef 😁🧀

Once again a great episode. Thanks guys.
No problem John 😀
Another nail bitting climax video. Best scene was Luke the Duke saying I'm not staying in the water long then jumps in first only to have beloved little brother jump in afterwards. Great drama I was on the edge of my seat thinking Adam was going to be eaten. Great job boys thanks for another great video- rick
We thought we were going to get eaten by shark straight away 😂😂😂😂, lots of hungry sharks around their Rick
at timestamp 18:00, I noted that your reefing lines were run under the boom. Since you now have a loose-footed main, you should run those lines around the foot of the main above the boom to prevent the sail possibly being torn at the reefing eyes. Cheers!
Thanks for the advice Neil 👍👍
Another great vid, guys.
Thanks again!
Another great video Amigos!
It's a great sailing technique works great!
Yes it does!
I hope you get a lazy bag, so much easier, that sail would drop well into one with the full battens. Get one with a flap to cover the zip, they perish in the sun, mine just did.
We are certainly thinking about it ☺️
Fantastic, thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
Good going guys. Thanks for another great video! Stay safe from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦
As always thank you Lloyd 🙏
Time to market “The Sailing Brotha’s Cheeze” let’s geauxxx!!
We should make our own cheese 🧀🤝
Wow Sailor great episode and what an experience,
It's the last time we will ever step foot there 😭
I'm undecided whether Minerva would be a haven or an utterly frightening place during a Cyclone or whatever they're called. Imagine the breakers
There would be no survival in a cyclone there. It floods at high tide to make it uncomfortable as it is
Great update, well done lads. Re the bags. Never thought of that Graham but you may be onto something there 🤔
the reef super cool, where did the brothers love of cheese develop? you guys seemed equally stoked about the reef and the cheese! lol
We blame our parents for the cheese addiction 😭😂😂

Thank you skipper ⛵, the south reef is prettier than the North however it is bumpier at high water
Great episode chaps. I did wonder about that cheese you made in kiwi land. Delicious 😋 !! love it !!
It was absolutely delicious and what a treat to have it in an amazing place 😜
I knew you were going to say "delicious" when you ate that cheese :)
Well done to the both of you . Another good one x
So good! Delicious 🤤
Thank you Joannar 😁
Wow not many can say they walked on Minerva reef , well done lads! Glad you enjoyed your cheese
It really is a once in the lifetime opportunity we are very lucky 🙏
Look up VMG, velocity made good for downwind sailing 👍As you drew on the paper. Specially in light winds.
I will check it out thanks 👍

International men of mystery. Sailors, adventures and cheese makers... It doesn't get any better...
Nothing better than cheese and Sailing 😜
A long keeled hull like yours will be more comfortable downwind than a fin keeled yacht so the choice is more depended on design. Surfing a pocket maxi on the way back from Hobart we were lock to lock on every wave, 20 mins on wheel maximum and you’re stuffed.
That's very interesting 🤔, it turned out we were faster going downwind and more steady with our older boat

I just couldn't get my t-shirt on 🤣😂
The south reef is so good like being on the moon
It may be more comfortable, however it's gybe, gybe, gybe. Some sailors don't like gybing, especially if they have a big genoa! Bill
We don't mind a gybe Bill 😎
Fantastic video as always even more jealous now watching you as my sailing boat isn’t ready yet. Adam what are you like putting your top on. Safe sailing steve

Okay, just want to pause and let you know how much I am looking forward to seeing you draw on some paper.
It was the highlight of the video 🤣🤣
I really hope people don't litter, apart from the odd boat but hopefully not intentional 😅
Oh never 😎
30 fps dont half make a differance to the quality guys 😀
Good or bad?
@@TheSailingBrothers Better, the water looks much wetter 😃
Don't know why, but I found you standing on the reef with those waves rolling in really unnerving. Amazing place though, strange it seemed devoid of life, plant or other.
We were scared of something bad happening and getting washed out to sea. There is nothing there to sustain life
I think tacking downwind works well in lighter winds or in modern boats with planing hulls and smaller headsails. Also pity the poor buggers who ran into that reef centuries ago and ended up knee deep.... alive, but not for long 😢
It didn't really work for us being a older yacht design I guess. We have two head sales for flying downwind anyway. These reefs can be very dangerous 😱
How are you doing on water supplies there? Enough rain?
0 rain, just relying on what we brought 👍
Wondering how the new sails are working out ? So much exploring ankle deep water did you find anything under foot .
The new sails absolutely fantastic 😍
Just rocks under foot 🦶
@@TheSailingBrothers Hope you didn't Rock & Roll all night long....ha-ha

Super cool what a adventure I am doing this as I have all the time in the world.
Now
No time like the present Peter
Just a question about your radar up your mast. Like or dislike?
It's ok, doesn't really affect us however a couple of times we have had a haliard wrap around it
I thought you guys had two headsails? If so why not use two head sails? One each side. And NO main
Yeah we do that, sometimes it's more rolly downwind with two headsails
interesting thanks
Dead right about sailing on a broad reach and gybing. It’s faster and more comfortable. You should have stuck with it. Maybe not all boats act the same way.
We worked it out and it would have been but extra 100 miles or so so we decided to head directly downwind. Maybe if we had a faster more modern yacht ⛵
How's the shark population there?
Booming
Sorry to disagree but 400 miles at 5 kn rolling is 80 hrs
500 miles at 6.5kn is 76 hrs!
We must have got our sums wrong
My advice is to stay there and don't ever come back.
