Looks awesome! I don't really play AoS anymore but back when I did The Anvils of Heldenhammer were my guys. Had quite a few done. My favorite Stormcast by far.
Love these a little more „in depths“ look at different paint schemes instead of putting all in one video! Would love to see how you would paint them outside of the „official“ paint schemes!
I'm not surprised how quick it was 😂 such a great series of steps and a great finish. I might have to pick up a squad and paint singles for my daughter's collection 🤔
I'm excited for any storm hosts I find them interesting and these videos are always fun as they help explain the world more Great video as always Andy hope you're hand gets better soon :)
Yeah it's healing pretty well, just don't want any setbacks with it! I'm really enjoying talking about the lore as well so glad people are enjoying these types of videos!
That's a lovely colour scheme. I have the 3rd edition Dominion models still waiting to be done and I'm liking the look of the spearhead game play in 4th Ed, so thank you for this one
I which you a quick healing. Thanks for the video. I like the approach, I have the Bretonian army box. I’m thinking of using your black armour recipe for them.
I do the same technique with black armour when I paint Sons of Mallus. They have similar look, except they have also purple coloristics on their shields an shoulders
Ace scheme Andy - genuine question for once - I have found some metallic sprays to be hydrophobic (colour forge comes to mind) and therefor will not take contrast paint. Is the black primer what helped here, or is Leadbelcher just not hydrophobic? I have found I needed to drybrush on a layer of metallic pot paint but I see you didn't here.
will it be similar with your job if I use abbadon black (not contrast) instead of contrast black paint? Because I have no experience of contrast paint.
Hell yes, unique chambers is a great idea, you only ever see the solid gold or silver stormcast. I'd like anything to make mine unique. I wish GW made kits for stormcasts...like skull helmets for these guys.
Yeah I think people just paint them that way because it seems like there's not many options unless you do some research! Skull helmets would be so freakin cool to be able to buy
Metallic sprays don’t always adhere well to grey plastic so it’s best to have an undercoat for them! I do a full coat of chaos black and then go back over with leadbelcher!
There’s not much official art for them so you can see what other people have done or add your own colour. It would probably be closer to red though based on the one official example of the scheme online that i could find!
I think you really can't paint black without proper edge highlighting. This looks barely readable on camera, under strong light, and only thanks to you constantly turning it around so everything catshes light. But on the table under normal room lighting this will look like a black glob with a gold trim. I think you would do much better if instead of black contrast you used grey. It would still read as black, but it would show more of the gradient. And, really, I feel that you can't paint dark schemes without highlighting them well. It just doesn't work.
Just wanted to say thanks for all of these skaventide videos, they are perfect for us new to the hobby and who picked up this as our first set.

They are so cool, hadn't really gone into their lore before!
Love seeing different chamber paint styles! Would love to see a Hallowed Knights scheme
I'll try to get to that one!
Nice quick scheme, I do like this method for doing black metallic it’s very punchy yet with a grim edge very nice.
Love these a little more „in depths“ look at different paint schemes instead of putting all in one video!

I like the look of that paint scheme ❤❤
Thanks so much!

Love it! This is how I’ve been painting my stormcast for Warcry and it looks great
Aw very cool, love the warbands for Warcry, the models are so cool
Thank you for the video, it helped me decide how to do my Stormcast when the box comes in. Love the black and gold!
Oh great to hear that! You’re welcome 😊
I'm excited for any storm hosts I find them interesting and these videos are always fun as they help explain the world more

Would love celestial stormcast!!
Wardollies? Awesome! You slay me! Oh, and I love the scheme!
Haha thanks man
Cheers Andy! Laura on point for the edit and comments lol! Might have to paint Skaventide box in this scheme
Will pass that on! I'd love to see that man, black armour on that crazy new beast would be epic
That's a lovely colour scheme. I have the 3rd edition Dominion models still waiting to be done and I'm liking the look of the spearhead game play in 4th Ed, so thank you for this one
Ohhh that would be very cool to see them in black, the spearhead is a great option for getting something to play with together quicker
I think that looks better than the traditional gold.. well done.
Yeah it gives them a different vibe entirely
Great looking model, the paint scheme is excellent.
Thanks so much!
Looking forward to potentially Celestial Vindicators! Would love to see how you tackle the Jade colour armour
Oh yeah they're a great one!
woot just saw this video! it is how I'm painting my stormcast, setting them in the shyish realm as it made sense with their backstory
Sweet, glad you liked it!
Great scheme. Going to try on my new Stormhost.!!!
Awesome to hear that, glad you liked it!
THX! Very motivating paint scheme :-)
Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh i know them-another great chapter!
get well soon mate. we would rather you took care of yourself than injure yourself trying to beat the YT algo. Best wishes and love
Really appreciate that man, sometimes I need to hear that more!
Very neat! Do Tempest Lords!
I do love how they look!
Brilliant paint job! Hope the thumb heals up soon 🤞
Thanks man, it's getting there!
Looks great, i want to try that myself. Hope the hand gets better soon!
Thanks man, it's getting there! Hope you enjoy your results if you try it!
Would love to see your take on the Astral Templars
Already on the list man, will get to them for sure
incredible video! love the lore
Yeah they’re super cool!
This was really helpful, thx!
Glad to hear that!
Great tutorial
Thanks so much!
Discovered channel today, lovely content. Happy to support a fellow Irishman
Awesome man, thanks for the support!
Excellent video. Never heard or seen that 'chapter'.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yes the two sprays make the surface rough. Not to the eye or touch but enough to give the contrast somthing to grip onto.
will it be similar with your job if I use abbadon black (not contrast) instead of contrast black paint? Because I have no experience of contrast paint.
Yep it should be good.
Yes. That’s looks so much better than the gold.
It's making me want to see all the chambers in one army

Knights excelsior would be a cool one to do
Yes! White armour tutorials are always good!
Seeing a black and gold stormhost make me wanna paint a custom one with the Sons of Horus colors 😂
Oh that would be so good!
Where you’ve stated at the start with the primers, do you spray black first then recoat with Leadbelcher ?
Metallic sprays don’t always adhere well to grey plastic so it’s best to have an undercoat for them! I do a full coat of chaos black and then go back over with leadbelcher!
@@MediocreHobbies thank you ! Loving your work. Keep flicking between hammers of sigmar and anvils. But you’ve convinced me to stick with anvils now.
Why not Nuln Oil gloss for the armor or parts of the armor and shield?
Just personal preference!
👍
:)
So cloaks or capes would be the pinkish color ?
There’s not much official art for them so you can see what other people have done or add your own colour. It would probably be closer to red though based on the one official example of the scheme online that i could find!
I tried this exact scheme but founf the black contrast came out more like a metallic blue over the silver u dercoat
Would there really be a difference if I went only for lead belcher spray without the black.
Metallic sprays have a hard time adhering to plain plastic which is why I always do a coat of black as well!
Oh yes, Sigmar's own army of Edge lords
Hahahaha yes exactly that
I have a question I’m a new painter but can I just paint on the leadbelcher or does it need to be a zenithal of leadbelcher to work?
Yeah you can just brush it on but if you’re doing a lot of models that need a silver base, buying a silver rattle can will speed things up a lot!
The best Chamber!
Definitely the darkest!
I think the head needed to be different to help it stand out … full gold maybe?
Lovely paint job though
You could if you like, this is how the chamber is designed to look though! Thanks man
Black & Orange
I think i gotta right?
Do a white armor with orange accents!!
I'll probably be doing a white armour, might not have orange shoulders but you can take that bit from another tutorial maybe!
Aw man I was hoping for the lord terminos
Like I said trying to take things easy with my hand for a bit!
@@MediocreHobbies oh sorry
I hope your hand gets better dude
Ill echo "Hallowed Knights".
On the way!
Hmm, no more SpeedPaint content ?
What do you mean?
