      @@Rachel_Tensions 2310 so not great tbh but if it helps anyone I had always been average or above average on all sections except QR , my score for QR was 640 and I had never got above a 300 on a test (hence the practice) . @@KxrtButReal my verbal reasoning in the exam was very difficult, in the sense of there were not many true false questions. Most of mine were long winded 'what is the author's strongest opinion' 'why was this word used/what does it mean' 'what conclusion can be drawn from the passage' type questions. If I could go back, I would revise more strongly on those types of questions! Alot of resources for UCAT focus on true/false questions and once I got to the real thing it really through me off Haha. Verbal was my worst section overall 😭 If you have any questions about the actual thing, I'll happily answer it! Sorry this is a super long comment lol

      @@user-jb5in4sl9i jim kwik goes along the lines of following your finger faster than you would be able to pronounce it and counting 1 2 3 in your head. You can kinda get somewhere with that but you can never and should never remove it completely as i believe it would drastically decrease understanding. Recently i've changed my mind and believe that speed reading in general is bs. To be honest it's just more controlled skimming so it can still be useful in the ucat but i'd advise using the skimming strategy over reading the whole thing. As speed increases you get to a certain point where comprehension just decreases in my opinion. I would advise following your finger and doing some of these techniques but it's just what you think works for you. I say for the months before the ucat practice reading for 20 minutes a day and read hard texts on the computer if you can. Good luck!!

    • @user-jb5in4sl9i
      @user-jb5in4sl9i 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomashall8308 Thank you for that, I think you're right - speed reading can have a negative effect if you are not understanding the text. Some ucat questions require a lot of thinking and inferences in the vr section which makes it incredibly hard in the time constraints :/

    Wouldn't "Extreme Phrases" be more likely to be True? Because all of the words (used as examples in this video) and similar ones are affirmative words... And the opposite for "Mild Phrases" since those words are less affirmative.

    • @pleejithoj1712
      @pleejithoj1712 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole thing about verbal reasoning though is to be 100% correct and logical in your statement based off the passage. Questions like "X might occur" allows you to be more lenient with your judgement of the passage. Whereas questions like "X will definitely occur," means you need to extract direct evidence from the passage which proves X will 100% happen (and usually this direct evidence doesn't exist, making the answer False/Can't tell)
