I am glad that you are getting traction with your videos from me letting you know about the Kirkland driver fitting into a Mizuno tip. It for sure has helped my game and improved my distance off the tee. Love the channel and your videos that you have been making. If you are ever in AZ, let me know and we can play my club. Take care and be well.
Love it , engine of the club is the shaft and I need that fitting for all the reasons you talk about. Like others said the cost of an upgraded shaft with the Kirkland will equal a Top tier driver you could get for the same price . Quality video as usual, the next step is finding the right shaft yet again.
I tried out some shafts when I tried out a few drivers in a fitting. The results were soooo different; - Evenflow 60g stiff, kept missing right. - Ventus blue 6.0, was really spinny for me, 3200 plus. - Hzrdus smoke blue RDX 6.0, kept hitting the sweetspot, kept going straight & was 10m farther with my shortest drive, & 13m average. So, that's now in the bag with a 10.5 PXG 0311 gen 5 set to 11.5 with 7.5g weight in the heel and back, and 2.5g in the toe. With my 95-100mph clubhead speed (on course), I get 12-16 degrees launch angle and 2200-2800 spin, which is ideal. The other day, I hit 7 out of 9 fairways (using driver), and averaged 230 carry, which is astounding for me.
Hey Gabe congrats on 70k, that’s a great feet. You do a lot of work for us mere mortals showing us so much. Best thing I like is you are like us, average to little above swings speeds , etc. When you test stuff it relates to me. I may swing a little faster than you but it’s all relative. Thx for everything. Keep it up!
The amount of improvement people with consist swings see in custom fitting is so good. I got fitted for a TSR3 and it was way more consistent. Great video/idea Gabe!
Hi Gabe. Been playing the brava for a couple years now. Switched from the autoflex. It is a super consistent. Recently, I switched to the Accra fx3.0 140 M0. I think it's the best feeling shaft I've ever tried paired with the paradym. Don't let the stiffness rating fool you. My clubhead speed is between 90-95 mph and when hit centered, I can get near 250 with it. On most of the par 4s on my course, that puts me about 100 yds from the green. Love driver and pitching wedge on those vs driver then 7 iron. The difference of a good driver/shaft combo has lowered my handicap from 16 to 12.
It would be very interesting Gabe, if you added that shaft to one of the premium driver heads. Say the new Q10. Be interesting to se if the head makes a difference or not. Then you could definitely say that the Costco driver is faulty equal to . Your doing great work.
Thank you for doing this awesome review. I knew the result was going to be excellent because the quality of the head is as good as anything out there. You now have a driver that is just as good or even maybe a smidge better than your gamer? We haven’t got those drivers here in Canada yet and I don’t know if they ever will but I’m excited to see a club like this transpire that did perform excellent even with the factory shaft. The total distance was only a couple yards off of your Titleist. The carry was virtually the same. Pretty cool. Love the realistic reviews on this channel and the fact that you hit about the same distance as I do so it’s not like I’m trying to gauge the results on a guy that bombs at 350 yards all the time. If I see your review it I know how the club would perform for me and that is the most important thing. Great channel and all the best
Shaft is so important if you can’t afford an after market shaft the choices of the stock shafts is vital . Not enough reviews tell us what stock shafts the manufacturers give us. More reviews need to concentrate on this .
I for one do not agree and i doubt very much that the leading manufactures with their drivers costing well over £500 here in the uk are using substandard shafts, as a amerture who plays for pleasure i can only improve and get to a certain level then hope to maintain it ,if buying expensive equipment were a guarantee to improve your game and lower your score then there would be no end to the amount of money being spent which sadly with all the gimmicks around that simply don't deliver is the case, the only real way to improve your game is to play more,
If you deliver the club with to much apparent loft and spin you will loose 25 yards on your drive . If the shaft and club help reduce that , your scores will lower. If you get lessons and improve your club will be even better for you. Have you tried a fitting where you hit with 5 or 6 different shafts? I was fitted for new irons and shafts my 7 iron is 30 yards longer ….
@@adrianlovett3483 iron shafts can make difference as to their weight and flex however with a driver I was amazed recently to discover that rory macilroy has reduced the length of his shaft in his driver Ricky fowler did the same and yet still get the distance so what's that telling us? We need to reduce the length
@@adrianlovett3483 there are so many variables when it comes to shafts when you go for a fitting the pro will always try to sell you the most expensive by trying to convince you these are the game improvement you need 20 years ago a 7 iron had 34 degrees of loft the same club today as in most case around 27 degrees to create more distance they need a weight in the sole to help get the ball airborne yet blades still retain that 34 degree loft
No, I’d rather spend the $440 on lessons. No, wait, can’t afford that either. Gotta pay for all the other bills after rent.😢 Seriously, though, I love and watch your stuff all the time and will continue to do so!👍
Great show, would love to get my hands on the Kirkland, how about sending another one over the pond, I'm no Mr Robinson with swing speed, my fastest is 100 AVE 96 but only hit 200 on carry, I had lessons, it ain't helped, in fact don't worry about it new club won't help, sticking with 3 wood, Keep them coming mate.😂
I highly recommend serious golfers getting fit for an upgraded shaft. In fact I would say go buy a used club head that's a generation or two old to save money and then spend the big money on the shaft.
does the cost justify the upgrade or is purely a case of instead of buying a new driver buy an expensive shaft instead? I'm really struggling to understand this upgrade in regards to distance as when you tested this driver in December, your best drive rolled out to 264 using the less expensive fitted shaft that came with the club.
Big fan of AJ's stuff, especially around club building. I'm going to be going down the Otto Phlex rabbit hole, and he did a couple of videos with Mr Shortgame that were awesome. You should give it a go, Gabe. See what you can make. :-)
In my 70's and scores had creeped into 90's. When I determined being in fairway was most important, distance became less so. Rarely use the driver, often using 3,5,or hybrid off the tee. Straight is king. Scores back into 80's. Love the channel but would never spend that kind of money again for a few more yards.
I'd love a driver like that. I'm looking for an upgrade from my TM RBZ drive and this could be it for me. I swing hard about 105 and my driver gives me 4500 to 6000 spin so I'm getting high lofted flight with about 260 to 270 yds when hit well. I'd like that to change.
Recently acquired the Cobra ltdx driver and fairway wood hazardouss smoke shafts really feel great. they are so forgiving and long. then I got the areojet 7 wood game improvement wow! Would love to see comparisons with the Kirkland golf clubs?
70K! I remember watching the review of the Costco Edge set several years ago. From there, the KS1 putter, wedges, now the driver. All this while getting up to 70K. Keep doing what you are doing Gabe.
Just shows us how important shafts and head are to optimizing performance and consistency. Things to remember; not all shafts will perform the same. You really need to get fitted to optimize your own potential. Keep up the great content....
This is interesting. I have that driver, it is fine but I don't think it is performing as well as I would like. It has the same shaft that my old Callaway Mavrik driver. I thought about retipping my older Mitsubishi Tensei blue to see if I like it better in the driver. Might want to drop that shaft into another driver and see how it compares. If I was going to drop 300 plus in a shaft into a club I'd probably try to do it with my Stealth.
So, you put a $400+ shaft on a $200 driver head......Uh.....No...... I will say, however, that I am very happy with my Costco Signature driver. I'm hitting fairways 80% of the time with about 10 extra yards over my Taylormade M1. In about two years this driver will have paid for itself because I won't be paying for nearly as many lost balls!😄
I have been studying and comparing drivers for 3 weeks in order to make the right choice before I purchase a new one, I had it narrowed down to two and now I see this!
By the time you pay 437 dollars for the shaft and 200 for the driver, you could buy the best driver on the market. The Ping G430 max 10k would surpass that Kirkland stock, or at least I think it would. Love to see a comparison with the Kirkland and the 430 max 10k
I hit this Sunday in nj 45 degrees out. 112 club head speed bumped it 270 with 260 carry. Very impressed with the results of a stock ksig driver with a stiff shaft. Did you change loft? Can you change the allow screw?
I see they are no longer on the website…go with a lighter shaft? How much is very expensive? Just looks fun to be cranking out some drives in the dead of winter…
