- Yugioh has been around for over a decade and has released a ton of cards throughout the years. Some of these cards are great, some not so much and some are right in between. Let’s go on an adventure to the Unknown side of Yugioh and find out some of the more unique cards in Yugioh. Today’s Episode we are going to talk about counterparts, or at least two archetypes of monsters that have tons of counterparts.

Wynn is not only part of the charmers, but lore wise she's from the gusto tribe and is the younger sister of Winda.
The duel terminal world has been experienced apocalypse for like 3 times in a row, i wonder if lapis and rasalhague did full reset the world like liu kang mortal kombat. Because there's no way wynn and others survive Sophia and tierra extinction events.
@@r3zaful Wasn't the lore about that like where tierra destroys the worlds, avida rebiuilds the worlds and sophia rebirths? Is it like the reapers from mass effect where they keep coming and incorporating semblences like wynn for reiterations?
@@victortalons6873no, avida is part of world legacy lore, not DT.
@@victortalons6873 avida is avram bruh, even in md they already explained it.
Are we certain that she's not just aesthetically similar to Gusto, just as Subterror Nemesis Warrior looks a lot like War Rock Meteoragon?
Gusto happens to be wind-themed, too.
Edit: nevermind, the Duel Terminal Master Guide confirms it.
I find it really funny that the Charmer's include Gigobyte, but they never use his later version. So it's like he's trapped in his teen years.
When he talks about the awakening of the possessed monsters, he shows the gigabyte evolution, called, gagigobyte, which itself is an upgrade of Jigobyte.
So it is implied that gigabyte grew up around Eria but he left to go out on his own in the adult form we know “Gagagigo.”
Yeah they parted ways and then the tragic tale of his later years starts
I like to think Wynn teleported or dimension shifted Gagagigo to Freed's place somehow to save him from being corrupted and that's why the warriors fight the alien (to them) lizard boi.
This could basically start its own mini series.
0:19 The Charmers Change
5:57 Evilswarm Evolve
An important note that we should know about Evilswarm Kerykeion is that it’s actually not infected by the Evilswarm virus. During the Battle with Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth, Gem-Knight Lazuli fuse with all Constellar monsters to form the strongest warrior with the power of life: Constellar Sombre. However, Constellar Rasalhague intentionally not join in the fusion, but instead, with the Ghiskis, using Aquamirror to fuse with the 3 corrupted dragon of the Ice Barrier, gaining the power of destruction, and absorbing Sophia’s orb with destruction power.
No idea if it's confirmed that Dharc only has one arm, since you *only* ever see his left. He didn't even mention how some of the Charmers have Channeler forms, including Wynn. I don't know if Winda and Wynn are actually the same character or siblings, but she has a whole other story involving the Gustos, Spiritual Beasts, Shaddolls, and probably some other archetypes I'm forgetting. Hell, Winda could probably be a whole episode herself.
Winda is the person who summoned Sophia and become the vassal of tierra as the puppet master of shaddoll and piloting tierra's head dekatron.
We don't even knew that she is completely freed from Sophia and tierra influence and might become the main plot for the next dt.
@@r3zaful Not 100% true. Winda and Pulao were corrupted by Construct before the Shaddoll invasion began and was Construct’s “herald”. Decatron was purging the Shaddoll infection, which is noticeably similar to the Evilswarm, and Winda returns to normal after in Ritual Beast Return. Decatron was Devyaty’s head after he was destroyed by Qliphort Towers.
@@scw5098iirc Winda was killed by Sophia and was revived by tierra because she had sophia's essence in her due to being around her when she died
I think Wynn is Winda's sister who left home prior to the events of the Duel Terminal storyline.
Personally, I think Wynn went to a different world/dimension. Eria's familiar is Gagagigo in his youth, which ties the Charmers to the original lore timeline (that is, the lore told in random DM-Era cards before the rise of archetypes with their own self-contained lore.)
I'm not going to summarize the classic lore, the story of Maurading Captain alone could be an entire video, but I will say that it really doesn't seem to happen in the same space as all the Duel Terminal stuff.
So, the reason that Dharc lost his arm is because of the pot of greed, of all things. The spirit art trap for him is "Dark Spirit Art - Greed", which has the japanese word for it written on the floor and the actual pot in the back corner of the room. There's a kind of obscure bit of lore about the pot of greed where you can see what you desire most inside of it, but if you try to reach for it, it explodes.
So it's heavily implied that he tried to do just that and lost the arm because of it
Edit: And I suppose the card's effect allowing its own negate by revealing a spell card represents the pot backfiring on you
i think the lore reason lyna and Dharc dont get their familars leveled up is because they were imprisoned notice how both dharc and Lyna have a chain and cuff on one of their hands my guess is the other charmers leveld up their familars to stage a prison break
Also how did Dharc lost an arm?
But advanced forms of their familiars are present on their Familiar-Possessed cards anyway. So those forms do exist, they just don't have their own cards for some reason.
Imagine Worm Zero getting a wonder fusion card for banishing a bunch of reptiles - damn that would be great
Pre-errata Future Fusion worked wonders with that card.
@@ytmndman it worked, however the main purpose was milling & not the fusion summon, wasnt it?
@@musiyevonchilla6769 Yeah, then you would go into Vennominaga with 13000+ attack
It would be interesting if you were to talk about the Signer Dragons in 5D’s anime and their manga counterparts (including Crimson Dragon and it’s manga counterpart Ultimaya Tzolkin).
:D
You forgot about the channelers, though only for fire earth and wind, it's another evolution that lets you discard them and a monster of the same attribute to add a monster of the same attribute from deck to hand
Light and Dark channelers might be really good consistency cards
@@dudono1744Those two would be on the chopping block real fast considering light and dharc are busted attributes.
Charmers are the only reason i still love yugioh. It's so fun to play, has great art and story and has a lot of tweeks to fit your style of play.
Fun fact the duel terminal lore is:
“Worms” invade planet.
X-Saber, Mist Valley, Flamvell, and Ice barriers form “Allies of Justice” using “Genex” to develop anti-Worm weapons.
Fable Resurrects and Attacks “Jurrac” nest while “Worms” attack “Natura” Forrest
Ice Barrier Seals come undone, Mist Valley almost dies but gets saved by Dragunity, and a meteorite destroys Fable and Jurac creating Neo-Flamvell and Worms die off.
Noellie fails a ritual while her best friend dies, gets corrupted.
Noellie abandons “Ice Barriers” and adopts orphans, forms “Ghishki” sect with forbidden rituals.
(Arc 1 archetypes: Natura, Worms, X-Saber, Mist Valley, Icebarrier, Flamvell, Jurrac, Allies of Justice, Genex, Dragunity, Fable, Ghiski, Natura)
Arc 2:
Vylon angelic robots detect LSwarm corruption and decend onto the planet
Laval tribe attacks Gem-Knight tribe
Ghiski invade Mist Valley, where Gusto lives in hopes of acquiring the power of a god
Noellie breaks LSwarm Seal in Mist Valley Temple
Emilia (Noellies daughter) dies and used as catalyst for Noellies failed ritual to revive her friend Natalia
Vylons gather tribes to fight LSwarm, Noellie infiltrates group and infects Vylons
Gem-Knight Pearl defeats corrupted Vylon
Ghiski tribe absorbs Laval tribe, then spreads poisonous winds to mist valley in order to kill Gustos (Winda the Gusto Priestest and Wynn the Wind Charmers Father Winndar attempted to halt the poison gas)
Gem-knights aid Gusto and purify the poison wind, and fights Ghiski
LSwarm virus awakens and possesses dead bodies, mainly from Steelswarms, forming the Evilswarms
Consteller descends to fight LSwarm
Ghiski tribe does various forbidden rituals, each failing corrupting the hosts into monsters
Consteller Castor dies while purifing Noellie, LSwarm corrupts him
Noellie sacrifices herself to revive Emilia and return the Ghiski tribe to normal
Gem-knight Diamond and Consteller fight LSwarm
Sophia goddes of rebirth, attempts to destroy the world
Gem-Knight+Consteller fusion absorb Sophia’s power of creation
Consteller Rasalhague uses corrupt Ice Barrier dragons as fusion
Dragons absorb the power of destruction from Sophia
Evilswarm Kerykeion and Constellar Sombre fight Sophia
Gusto and Ghiski work together to rebuild the semi-destroyed world
(New Archetypes in this arc: gusto, gemknights, Vylon, Consteller, EvilSwarm, Steelswarm, Laval)
There’s a 3rd arc involving the El Shadolls, Ritual Beasts, YangZing, Quiph/quill (or whatever that Normal/Pen arc type is) and Zefa archytpe but the wiki didn’t include it for some reason lol.
With the El Shadolls being Mechanical Zombie Puppets that was a evolved LSwarm virus using Gemknights as its core. And the Zefras being a purified version of the Shadolls
(Also with Wynn being a Charmer, that means that they share the world of Witchcrafters, Invoked, and Edimon)
it's kinda sad that this backstory is not pushed more by konami.
@@Zanji1234 I’m pretty sure Sky Strikers has an Official Manga. And the Fallen of Albaz (which also includes Icejade, Swordsoul, Tri-Brigade, despia, dogmatik, spriggians, and I’m pretty sure a few more)+Visa Starfrost (Scareclaw, Tearlaments, Kishtira, and I forgot what the synchro one is called cause it’s not in MD yet) are super lore heavy.
With “Fallen of Albaz” following the story of Albaz and his basically girlfriend (Eclisia or whatever that dogmatic card is) or something as he gets hunted cause he was isekaied into their world,
And Visa Starfrost follows this one guy who wakes up with amnesia only to find out that his personality got broken up and took control of multiple worlds, with Scareclaw being “Fear” (Link) and ruling over the beasts. Tearlaments being “Grief” (Fusion) and being a dictator over the Tearlaments. And Kishtira being “Anger” (XYZ) who tries to become the dominant personality and fights the others. And the whatchumacallits whose his acceptance or something? Which is Synchro and is on the original planet trying to protect the peace from an evil dictator who caused Visa his amnesia.
But basically. konomi is def going to continue writing multi archetype lores and large stories that focus on the evolution of specific archetypes or monsters
@@burningfox4974 yeah but there is no manga, you don't see the lore on their own website...they don't promote it. For example look at magic and how they promote each set as a hole story.
@@Zanji1234 that’s because you play as a planeswalker summoning your creatures to assist you in battle, the player is part of the lore. Whereas Yugioh the player isn’t directly part of the lore unless it’s stuff like Valyantz or Cardigans where it’s breaking the 4th wall by being based on an entirely different games
nope youre NOT the planeswalker in Magic since you ARE playing Planeswalker yourself. But just read the story of the Brothers war in Magic and that they wrote THAT on their website.
Why didn't Konami made that with the Hidden Arsenal stories i mean the whole War against the Worms and stuff
Im always excited when you post, i really appreciate the quality of your vids even if i havent picked up a yugioh card ever in my life 😅
An interesting thing about attributes in YuGiOh is that they each have a certain type of effect that a lot of monsters of that attribute get. WIND, for instance, has the effect of bouncing or spinning cards to deck (Raiza and Masked HERO Blast are such examples). This is likely to evoke the feeling of wind “blowing” the cards away.
It's more subtle than most of the other cars games yeah. Wind also includes effects that destroy S/T as well. Almost all of the cards that are strictly about destroying backrow tend to include tornadoes or twisters
I really don’t get why water has the theme of discarding enemy handcards
the basis for a lot of them seem to be traced back to the spiritual art cards mentioned the vidoe@@maomaeramnon3870.
For example EARTH had revival effects for the respective Elemental Lore, Dragon Ruler and True King because Kurogane had it, Moulinglacia had it because of Aoi, etc.
I believe Constellar Sombre is the counterpart to Kerykeion.
Yep. I jumped when I saw that he got that wrong.
So speaking of “Evolutions/Counterparts”, I’ve been brainstorming some for the first 6 Monarchs (Whom fit this list as they have “Mega” versions of themselves)… I was thinking up a Level 12 suite of “Omega Monarch”s that serve as boss monsters for their respective attributes:
_Raiza The Omega Monarch_ (WIND)

I would make them lv 10 and then a lv 12 (or rank 10 or link 5 or 6) final boss monster
@@matiasz6857
Here’s the thing: “Thestalos the Shadowfire Monarch” (Which is a Not-Fusion of the FIRE and DARK monarchs) exists as a level 10, so it looks like Konami has a Not-Fusion angle planned for any further level 10 Monarchs.
So I went with these level 12 evolutions that amplify the Monarch’s strengths in any given attribute focused deck.
Maybe what I could do is make Level/Rank 13 Final Boss versions of Erebus and Ehther and play with the above format for their “Omgea” versions.

Plenty of light monsters. It’d be more interesting if they were able to be said charmer or cataclysmic since that sees the least love. and any other monster and if it were of the same type gain said effects, making an easy superpoly from an archetype that borrow monsters and does something with them. Or with their mentor Doriado. Wish there was a pendulum deck with ritual support.
@@drewlevy9557
Like I said, there weren’t enough combinations of the 4 to NOT shaft 1 of the elements (they were 2 of WIND, FIRE and WATER respectively, with EARTH getting shafted.) So I just made them all LIGHT rather then try to fit a square block in a circular hole.
As for that part about them being said involved monsters, I was aiming for something along the lines of “The Dark Magicians” where the fusion monster is supposed to be both materials teaming up in the artwork (hence their combined and empowered abilities).
@@drewlevy9557
I should make them be treated as said monsters though.
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire Why couldn't they each have one? or as I mentioned add Doriado as she is their mentor and has an effect similar to that. Combining the charmers would make less sense than having their own unique fusions with monsters of the same type. Could even make it a contact fusion with the cataclysmic or channelers who don't even have a complete set yet to give them more attention.

Are the link charmers familiars not been made into cards yet? Also the evolved form of meda bat and happy lover that see?
A lot of them seem to be with this fairy-lookin’ Purrely wannabe. The Channelers have both the old familiar alongside the fairy thing. I’m curious what the story is there. It could be that they are practicing manifesting something alongside their familiars, a good way to take their casting to the next level.

@@aliastheabnormalwaifu tax + the fact that she's from RIRA, which had an extremely small print run due to how unpopular the set was at the time. That's why Wynn is the most expensive.
@@OoToxiToxioOThe wind girls are pretty; I’ve heard of worse cards people will say that about.
Such as Ash alternate art, nope. Charmers are given appropriate use in terms of appealing to their fans.
We're still missing the powered up Meda Bat and Happy Lover.
His last and most powerful form is called "La Mosca Peruana" and his effect is to make everyone ignore the effects of other monster and just destroy them no matter what just like Exiton does.
12:13 there's one more, Steelswarm Sentinel it's his child version.
The drama of "Charmed"
Storming Wynn 🗿
You should do "Top 10 most destructive monsters"
This would not necessarily refer to the most powerful monsters, but simply the ones that cause the most damage to the field. ie, Chaos Emperor Dragon, Zues, Gumblar, Sophia etc.
Unchained abomination would definitely end on the top 5 because it's effect is practically "a player breathes: destroy a card on the field"
Wooo the charmers!!
I just want to hear you talk about Fluffals idk why
12:26 is that an errata? because I remember zefraxiton kept the Fiend type after turning into a tellarknight
I'm pretty sure Evilswarm Kerykeion is the counter-part to Constellar Caduceus.
I hope we get more videos on this topic.
Would love to see an episode on either monsters with dewer apearances like dunames dark witch or maybe an episode similar to the one about censored artworks but instead with changed names like frog the jam and dunames dark witch.
fewer not dewer sorry
MBT talked about you in his latest video, mentioning how sad it was there are exactly 9 vanilla cards printed with flavor text like Joey is talking which means we'll never get a Duel Logs top 10 on them
Can we please please have a top 10 vid of monsters that only activate their effects while in defense position or action ONLY
❤
Since you've done it with D/D/D, how about featuring the Ancient Warriors Archetype and their inspiration?
You should do Yusaku and Revolver's most important cards
You could habe run through all the Evilswarms if you wanted to. Every single one of their monsters is a corruoted version of a Duel Terminal monster.
Man called zefrax a friend with his warrior type on the screen.
Zefra itself could've qualified for this video TBH.
also, you missed Evilswarm Heliotrope (Garnet), Hresvelg (Daifalcos), Ketos (Gishki Shadow), Mandragora (Cosmobeet), Castor (Pollux*), Nightmare (Boggart Knight, Thanatos (Ragin/Unicore) and several others. And the current three Charmer Channelers
*thought Pollux and Castor are counterparts they are not the same individual, but instead a pair of brothers. That said they share a similar effect for their decks (the same is also said of Kerykeyon and Sombre as well as both include a Constellar and a Constellar with Evilswarm powers)
If you want to do a sequel to this video, Mememto, Silenforcer and Zefra would be good picks.
It would be cool to see card lore manga/anime from the producers of yugioh
can you do a mikanko and libromancer video??
TOP 10 RANK 8 MONSTERS OF ALL TIME
The only reason I like azzathoth is because it's a reference to the lovecraft monster Azathoth
Neat
You forgot the "channeler" versions of the charmers
Still waiting for a Cyber Commander evolution/archetype.
Anyone else notice that he called Zefraxcition a fiend monster instead of warrior
Top 10 cards with most syllables in the name
Yugi as Devine Beast Charmer when?
“Evolutions and Counterparts”…
That’s pretty much like 90% of my comments on this channel. Retrain and support ideas for all sorts of cards and archetypes.
Give me a sec to dredge some more up.
I refuse to acknowledge cataclysmic charmer

More than a decade? Pretty sure it's been around for more than two decades.
Dharc is gloomy because he lost a whole fucking arm
Some would say 2 decades
DL fans eating good rn
12:33 errrrrm not a fiend 🤓👆
Just one question: is Dharc a girl or a boy.
God forbid they figure out a method for naming counterparts that makes some form of sense in any way, shape Or form instead of random nonsense.
Instead of some fun, cool or clever naming nuance referring to each other, yugioh once again uses a random name generator
Did not even talk about the Channelers form of the charmers
