Even so, burn is still burn and therefore inherently useful. Especially when by the current rules you can win by simply having more lp than your opponent when going into time. No joke i was playing yubel/neos against a snake eyes player at a locals when they impermanenced my spirit of neos leaving my only play to normal poly it and yubel to summon yubel ldf to deal 1000 damage on turn 1. Next turn, they out my yubel, go into battle hit me with a 900 attack monster first, hit me for 2700 on the next attack at which point i activate Mahaama the Fairy Dragon summoning it to defend against the next attack and burn my opponent for the damage i just took. Then time in the round happens and i win by a difference of 100 life points. The match was ultimately a draw though since i lost round 1 and we didn't have time for round 3.
@@dustinvance243 The problem with burn is that it's a nice bonus effect to have as you go through a combo, but it's only ever 'good' in a dedicated strategy. I remember the singular time I used Dark Designator! Although it was for a meta reason. I was trying to 100% Reverse of Arcadia. I noticed some out of place undiscovered cards in the card list. I looked it up, and they were the Egyptian god cards! …Which were only available during a special event min 2010. As far as I understood, there was no longer a way to get them… then I had an idea. After combing through the NPC’s decks, I saw that Grinder Golem, in the double battle specifically, ran Obelisk! So I used Dark Designator to add it to their hand, a card to give them monsters to tribute, tanked the hit, then used Creature Swap to take control of the Obelisk, which the game counted as owning the card! Unfortunately, I never did get the other two :’)

When I saw a card as bad as Hieroglyph at #9 I knew this was going to be fun. Had never heard of 90% of these cards, was fun to see how bad some effects can be :)
1:36… I’m reading this for the first time just NOW, and I realize I accidentally collapsed this into my earlier “Nanana” retrain idea…. If I were to fix this, I’d just make it quick-play, and make it so you would pay increments of 500 to increase your hand size by the amount of increments payed for the rest of the duel.
I didn't even realize Curse of Fiend came out in the set that debuted quick-play spells. What a damn weird card. Fun fact, though: There's actually been no official OCG/TCG ruling or card printing telling you that you have to set it for a turn. Instead, that's simply how it works in all the Konami video games, so... we just sort of count that as official. WHAT A WEIRD CARD
With Calming Magic, if they ever release a monster with the quick effect to send a normal spell to the GY to copy it's effect, it would be a powerful floodgate on your opponent's turn.
I kinda feel normal spell cards are usually the cards that constantly get stronger over time and always useful, so probably the list will be some of the OG normal spell cards (besides banned cards like pot of greed, graceful charity, monster reborn etc)

In this current meta trap decks running calming magic is pretty good cause you can break their boards without them floating into a bunch of stuff when specifically going against snake eyes (Flamberge, ip, formula)
I remember getting jade insect whistle as a kid and being really confused as what I was supposed to do with it. I didn't even have parasite paracide to work with it. But since I didn't have very many cards to begin with, I still ran it so I could have a full deck. It's a beautiful day and one of my favorite channels right now just dropped another video. Here's hoping y'all are having a kick-ass day as well. High five!
Parasite paracide does give me an idea for an archetype that revolves around flooding your opponent's deck with bad cards lmao, not sure if something like that already exists
calming magic's effect looks like something that could be ripe for abuse in the future if we ever get a card that can abuse it. 'Cause locking your opponent out of their turn is super broken!
3:05 First time hearing about Time-Tearing Morganite, and the effect seems neat. In Master Duel, I use mostly pure Dragon Maid deck, so it makes me wonder if it's a good addition since none of the Dragon Maid cards have effect in the hand anyway. Though since I've never seen anyone use it, I imagine it's a "good in theory but bad in practice" type of card.
It's a card that reads as good, but games don't last long enough for you to benefit a ton from it and it prevents you from playing any hand traps like Ash Blossom, or in Master Duel, Maxx "C".
To be fair Dark Designator does have a niche use of allowing you to view your opponent's deck for free to verify that your declared target isn't in their deck. This would allow you better knowledge for siding and to set up a stronger board with specific knowledge of what your opponent is playing.
I'm pretty sure the same rule changes apply as Mind Crush, i.e. you no longer get to check the deck if the opponent doesn't have the card. Lullaby of Obedience, which is a better version of Dark Designator, doesn't let you check the opponent's deck either, after all. Very few cards are left that still allow you to check an opponent's deck, it's pretty much just Nobleman of Crossout, which explicitly states to reveal the deck before banishing all copies.
In the anime, Dark Desginator was used in a tag duel. Because with anime tag duels. Your partner was also considered your opponent for some reason. It was uses so Dox can have Para add Sanga of the Thunder
For Jade Insect Whistle you need to put Parasite Paracide in your opponent’s deck before they began the duel, like having a child hold the deck of your opponent and add the card without they notice
Spirit Elimination is the inverse of an actually cool card called Tribute Burial that lets you banish a monster from each GY instead of tributing 2 monsters for one tribute summon.
I hated Curse of Fiend when I first got it in a Magic Ruler booster pack, but I hated it even more, when I kept getting it constantly in every Booster Pack I bought!
List Idea: Best/Worst Lingering Effects that last at least two turns. If it needs to be more specific, you can probably do just ones that last the whole duel.
😤😤 I want a video about top 10 or even 5 (because I think they are very few ) about generic cards that has the ability to return banished cards to deck as necroface for example, it's useful against runick.
Completely unrelated (kinda) I picked up the fallout commander precons then I ran across your mtg channel that I had no idea existed. Then I got into mtg arena and it's insane how much more budget friendly it is over master duel
What if there was a card that had a non once - per - turn effect to banish a copy of itself from the GY to get rid of a card in your opponent's hand, and if it was banished from the field you could immediately special summon it back? Then spirit elimination plus that card would let you loop your opponent's entire hand.
But on the subject of Burst Return, what if Bursinatrix got a retrain with this effect: "If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Target a number of cards equal to the number of 'HERO' monsters you control; return them to their owner's hand." ?
1:46 I would like to add that if you needed to pay 1000 lp, you could play toon world instead, which is also very searchable, so hieroglyph lithograph isn't even good at losing 1000 lp
Jade Insect Whistle would go hard in a deck whose win condition is decking your opponent out under Maxx "C". It's just weird enough that they might fall for it, where they'd be more wary if you just gave them a copy of MAxx "C" straight up.
Fun fact about parasite paracide. It poses a different issue, that jade whistle would just... Make pointless. See in real life. Cards are sleeved. So now imagine putting your differently sleeved card into your opponent's deck. This does create problems we only avoid, because of the fact the card isn't that good. (Outside of deck millers.)
The most annoying thing about Nanana to me is that it is based off of an Action Card from the anime which, for those that haven’t seen Arc V, basically work like Quick-Play spells, but better as you’re able to play them from the hand regardless of turn so long as the situation requirements are met, like Evasion being able to stop your monster from being destroyed by battle. In the OCG and TCG we actually got two more Action Cards in the form of “Action Magic - Full Turn” and “Action Magic - Double Banking” and they were actually upgraded from their manga versions by being able to be reused at the cost of discarding another spell card. They were also Quick-Play spells, which is the closest analog in the actual card game for most Action Cards. Nanana in the anime simply gave the ATK boost and it just happened to be used on Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon which just happens to be a level 7 monster.
Hieroglyph Lithograph could be useful if you need to reduce your own lifepoints for card effects that can only be activated when your lifepooints ar lower than your opponents
Hero, glyph, lithograph when I was a kid playing with that card. I made the effect you pay 1000 life points, then at the end of each of your turns you draw until you have seven cards in your hand.
Thumbnail: That Nanana card I had it in the smartphone game before the one on Switch came out. I then realize it wasn't in that one after I got all the cards... Seems to be TV channel reference?
You know what we actually need?! Glimpse of the Forbidden Normal Spell Choose 1 card by its original name. For the rest of this turn: This card is treated as an exact copy of that card (Name, types and effects) but it cannot be activated or Summoned, also you cannot activate or resolve its effects. And just like that, Neo Bubbleman and Guardian Elma can be played again!
For Spirit Elimination, does it apply when a monster banishes itself from the grave for cost? If so, maybe there's a non-once-per-turn effect out there that would be cool enough to attempt a janky combo with this.
How would shuffling a parasite paracide into the opponents deck actually work with sleeves of different types/color? I mean, is it really shuffling if you can always see where it is? I guess you would have to shuffle without looking at the deck at all

- "I am banishing a dark and a light..."
"guarantees you will never see one in real life" me clutching my binder with all three potato and chip cards: how dare you
It's a beautiful day and one of my favorite channels right now just dropped another video. Here's hoping y'all are having a kick-ass day as well. High five!
Parasite paracide does give me an idea for an archetype that revolves around flooding your opponent's deck with bad cards lmao, not sure if something like that already exists
1:35 in a current deck i play, id love to have an upgraded version of Hieroglyth Lithograph. like idk maybe if it drew 1 card at least
Spirit elimination seems like an anime card that the user has a boss monster that has to have a specific number of monsters in the grave
calming magic's effect looks like something that could be ripe for abuse in the future if we ever get a card that can abuse it.
Yeah, it's not great in a competitive setting but casually, go for it.
8:54 The Chrysalis monsters are useful when you combine Neo Spacian with the Spright engine, because they are Level 2 monsters.
To be fair Dark Designator does have a niche use of allowing you to view your opponent's deck for free to verify that your declared target isn't in their deck. This would allow you better knowledge for siding and to set up a stronger board with specific knowledge of what your opponent is playing.
It also combo with D.D. Designator which allowed you to guess and remove the card you just added to their hand.
Nanana was preemptively beaten by power creep in the form of Rush Recklessly which can give the same boost to ANYTHING as A QUICK EFFECT.
Imagine how good Spirit Elimination would be if it allowed you to choose whether or not to banish from the grave or field on a case by case basis?
Do a top 10 cards to put in any deck if you have the space for
( excluding hand traps )
With Dark Designator, you can use it to add Maxx C to their hand and use exchange because everyone uses Maxx C.
10:56 Could this card help classic clown decks? I feel like it could be useful to some degree
Next Video: Top 10 (More) Worst Normal Traps in YGO
For Jade Insect Whistle you need to put Parasite Paracide in your opponent’s deck before they began the duel, like having a child hold the deck of your opponent and add the card without they notice
Spirit Elimination is the inverse of an actually cool card called Tribute Burial that lets you banish a monster from each GY instead of tributing 2 monsters for one tribute summon.
I hated Curse of Fiend when I first got it in a Magic Ruler booster pack,
but I hated it even more, when I kept getting it constantly in every Booster Pack I bought!
Hieroglyph Lithograph: (1:34) Slifer, Obelisk, and Ra tablets
List Idea: Best/Worst Lingering Effects that last at least two turns. If it needs to be more specific, you can probably do just ones that last the whole duel.
😤😤 I want a video about top 10 or even 5 (because I think they are very few ) about generic cards that has the ability to return banished cards to deck as necroface for example, it's useful against runick.
Completely unrelated (kinda)
I picked up the fallout commander precons then I ran across your mtg channel that I had no idea existed.
Then I got into mtg arena and it's insane how much more budget friendly it is over master duel
I think it would be cool if you sent out more community posts or link the channel somewhere at least
Dark Designator can be used to get rid of certain cards. Force them to add it, then ax their hand somehow.
For some reason, I can see calming magic as a stall on an OTK deck.
4:31 Burstinatrix had 2 Signature Attack Cards?
You should tell your duelvlogs twin he should make a gimmick deck but it has to include every single spell mentioned in this video in the deck.
I believe Paracide goes into your opponent's deck face-up, so sleeves don't matter.
Hieroglyph Lithograph could be useful if you need to reduce your own lifepoints for card effects that can only be activated when your lifepooints ar lower than your opponents
nah nah what if you spirit elimination with something like mezuki which isn't once per turn so you can resolve it more
I have bad memories of my friend combining Dark Resonator and DD Resonator
Never thought I’d see the day, but it finally happened. Logs pronounced Burstinatrix properly!
Hero, glyph, lithograph when I was a kid playing with that card. I made the effect you pay 1000 life points, then at the end of each of your turns you draw until you have seven cards in your hand.
Dark Designator could someday see play if we're in a Tier Zero format where a Garnet is crucial to the plan. But, that'll likely never happen.
12:02 In Master Duel, where literally every deck contains Maxx "C", Jade Insect Whistle is a kind of Yata-Garasu. However, the card is still terrible.
Ah, yes, giving your opponent a topdeck into an instawin card... There might be SOME instance that isn't a bad idea.
@@Zetact_ You want to draw a useful card in your Draw Phase, not a handtrap, which is only usable in your opponent's turn.
Thumbnail: That Nanana card
I had it in the smartphone game before the one on Switch came out.
I then realize it wasn't in that one after I got all the cards...
Seems to be TV channel reference?
Silly question, but wouldn't Dark Designator also have the weird Mind Crush clause where your opponent would need to show you their entire deck?
You know what we actually need?!
Glimpse of the Forbidden
Normal Spell
Choose 1 card by its original name. For the rest of this turn: This card is treated as an exact copy of that card (Name, types and effects) but it cannot be activated or Summoned, also you cannot activate or resolve its effects.
And just like that, Neo Bubbleman and Guardian Elma can be played again!
Idea Top 10 Spell cards that would be improved if they were quick spell or make since if they were quickplay
For Spirit Elimination, does it apply when a monster banishes itself from the grave for cost? If so, maybe there's a non-once-per-turn effect out there that would be cool enough to attempt a janky combo with this.
The number 9 I never understood it's function in a duel ever
I have one funny idea for Lithograph.
(Casual 1P Duel Links): you just keep paying LP until you can activate Soul Burner's Heat Leo skill.
Lithograph was used in duel links for self burn
Crazy how Painful Choice and Curse of Fiend came from the same set. One of the best spells ever printed and one of the worst spells ever printed.
How would shuffling a parasite paracide into the opponents deck actually work with sleeves of different types/color? I mean, is it really shuffling if you can always see where it is? I guess you would have to shuffle without looking at the deck at all
Return of the doomed would be a decent combo breaker if you abuse sinister serpent or other cards that either revive or bounce back to hand
Hearing you say you're skipping cards meant to be bad I thougt a video about top 10 BEST card originally meant to be bad(if any like that exist) it'd be a nice
I'll recommend 10 Worst Continuous Spell Cards and Top 10 Worst Continuous Trap Cards, since they, surprisingly haven't been done yet.
Curse of Fiend should've been a Quick Play Spell due to how it can only be used on Standby Phase
You should do a video on cards that have only ever had 1 printing
The ultimate jank combo: Jade Insect Whistle, Parasite Paraside, and TCBOO.
